Traveller Bunker Hostel

Very Good

I booked the bunker bed for one night in mixed gender dorm. The location is great. Right next to the Cameron Highland clock tower thingy. It was clean and had a dedicated fan which was really good to have. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything smelled good. There was enough luggage storage space available and a personal safe/locker as well (included in the booking). Dining area, waiting lounge, kitchen and toilets were up to the mark for me (considering it’s a budget stay). Nothing super fancy but, all I wanted was a good night sleep before next day. Hotel staff is super easy on you. You can find food or anything easily and it’s just a short walk away. Just two things I’d like to suggest: 1. Using toilet barefoot isn’t my thing. Having a pair of slippers would’ve been great. 2. I didn’t bring any personal towel with me cuz normally hotel provides them but they didn’t.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Tanjung Inn Cherating. The location is excellent, with plenty of cafés and shops within walking distance, and the property connects directly to the beach. The only downside is that the hotel is on higher ground, so getting to the beach means walking up and down a sandy path without proper stairs. Service was generally good, and I found WhatsApp to be the fastest way to reach staff — when I reported a plumbing issue, it was fixed immediately after I texted. Amenities are thoughtful, like the mosquito repellent provided in the room, though the water dispenser was broken and housekeeping doesn’t clean daily or replenish water unless requested. Despite these small inconveniences, the atmosphere is peaceful, the surroundings are charming, and it feels like a great place to slow down and enjoy Cherating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would happily return.

Easy to go elegant hotel; we got a private dorm, total 4 people. It was clean, service was excellent, and facilities for the price you get are good, but I had an issue where the bed above in the private dorm is cracked and barely falls. It was there from before; even my friend was worried if he swerved around the bed he would fall on my other friend. It was shaky. Other than that, it's fine and actually really good for what you pay.

The soundproofing is quite poor, and noise from outside can be easily heard, which made it difficult to sleep. The bathroom door also felt somewhat lacking in privacy and security, as silhouettes can be seen through it. The listing stated that air conditioning was provided, but in reality there was none. Instead, there was only a small fan beside the bed. The fan speed could not be adjusted, it could only oscillate up and down, and the cable tended to come loose and required readjustment. Showering was a little uncomfortable because the floor drain was located directly beneath the showerhead. There was also an unpleasant odor in the room. The host may wish to consider providing an air freshener to improve the overall experience

Happy Stay @ Golden Hills, Genting Highlands

I wouldn't say it was bad, but there's definitely room for improvement. After we checked into the room, we discovered the water heater wasn't working, and the TV couldn't get any channels (which might be due to the high altitude). There weren't many working power outlets, and while the tableware was all there, we were hesitant to use it because a lot of it was rusty.

Nice place, we liked everything very much! The location is right in the city center, there are many cafes and shops nearby. Pay attention to the Highlands spice restaurant, tasty and affordable prices. It's easy to walk from the bus terminal. In the house staff are very friendly. You can buy tours with a driver right on the spot, choose what you need, including hiking tours. The house also has a kitchen with a microwave, a dispenser with hot and cold water, tea, etc. We also liked Cameron Highlands very much, maybe we'll come back here again!

The hostel is good for a short getaway, suitable for a group of friends who want to have bonding sessions. Location is okay. Only basic amenities provided. No towel, no shampoo at the upper floor toilet.
