Hostels in Nara Prefecture, Japan

I stayed here on a solo trip. As other people have said in their reviews, the staff were really polite and welcoming. I was very grateful. The private room was spacious enough just to sleep. The bedding was clean. However, since it's all made of wood, it may be best not to place delicate items directly on it. The washroom and shower room were very clean and easy to use. I would like to stay here again when I visit Tenri (or Nara). Thank you.

This was my first time staying in this type of accommodation in Japan. I stayed for five nights. On the first day, I smelled a cold odor as soon as I entered the room. On the second day, I woke up with a sore throat and realized I had caught a cold. On the third day, I found that two staff members had severe colds, coughing and having runny noses. They weren't wearing masks, and the rooms weren't well-ventilated. I had to ask them to open the windows every day. I was disappointed that the staff didn't seem to care about keeping the air fresh. Towels were available for an extra charge. The location was very convenient.

The location is near both JR nara and kintestu station, it's also 800m far from nara park and naramachi main area. However, it's not on the main street so it's quite dark and silent at night. Room and services are good for solo travelers. I stayed in female dorm, everything is ok. However, you may be awakened at midnight if others go out or do st else. That's so disturbing 🤨
