Hostels in Sichuan, China

soo, okay. Check in took a looong time, had to fill out the form with the lady, and it took a while. She seems to have everything under control in the hostel and keeps the space quite clean, even disinfects the slippers after use. People do smoke in the corridor the rooms open to, sometimes sitting directly in front of your door. She gives you the tour of the whole place, shows you what’s what, all the while saying “please, wear this,” absolutely out of context haha. Rooms were nice, had aircon, no storage though and my biggest gripe - no locks. Cannot lock the room in any way, and anyone can walk in to the hostel from the street. I would have liked to know this when deciding on whether to stay here. Nothing suss happened during our stay but I’m not sure I can recommend staying here for this reason especially. Bathrooms also were a bit meh, a squat toilet-shower combo, one for girls, two for men and one mixed. Never had to wait to shower though. Other than that, location was good, Chengdu actually has a good bus system, 82 stops close to the hostel and can take you quite a few places in the center.

I chose this hostel for my trip to Chengdu, and my stay far exceeded my expectations. The location is truly unbeatable. It's very close to the metro station, within walking distance, making it super convenient to get to Wenshu Monastery and all the major city attractions. Getting around was a breeze, and it's great value for money. I had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and tidy, and the overall environment was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a good rest after a long day of exploring. The amenities were also very thoughtful, with a laundry room and a gym, which was incredibly practical for washing clothes and getting some exercise during my trip. The biggest surprise was the public area on the ground floor. By day, it's a quiet cafe, and by night, it transforms into a bar with a fantastic atmosphere. There are even live singers performing in the evenings – the 'cafe by day, bar by night' concept was right up my alley. Sitting down to listen to music and have a drink melted away a lot of my travel fatigue. I also met many travelers from different places here, including quite a few international guests. Everyone chatted about their travel experiences, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Overall, my experience was fantastic. It's suitable for both solo travelers and those with friends. I honestly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard 5/5! As a girl travelling solo for the first time, I felt very safe staying and had a lot of fun. Even though it’s a hostel, the environment was comfortable and welcoming. One thing I really appreciated was the international power outlets, which was a huge plus for me. The hostel also offers transportation services to certain attractions and activities, making it very convenient for travellers. The location is excellent — being right next to Chunxi Road meant I could easily explore the city, try local food, and enjoy the area on foot. A special shoutout to the front desk staff, who were incredibly friendly and always happy to recommend places to visit. Their English was excellent as well, which made communication very easy. I would highly recommend this hostel to international travellers. If I visit Chengdu again, I would definitely choose to stay here again! ❤️✨

The hostel was in a great location, near the metro and chunxi road. The bed was comfortable and you have a locker that you can unlock with your room key. However, the bathrooms were FILTHY. I stayed for 4 nights and every day and every night it was dirty ( counter full of things, old toothpaste tubes, wate splashed everywhere), toilets with overflowing bins ( squat toilets only) and smelly... Was cheap so can't complain too much but probably wouldn't stay here again. Seems to be mostly a chinese crowd who stays there long term as I was the only foreigner there my whole stay.

I had a private room on the rooftop. Pros: the rooms are pretty clean and the bedding is clean. The bathrooms are separate and shared use, but the set-up of the ladies bathrooms is good, the shower area is private and you have your own space to change. The hostel organises a lot of group activities, so u can meet ppl if u wish Cons: the beds are hard and mattresses are thin. You will not be able to sleep on them. I ended up taking the doona from one bed and putting it on top of the other, and still struggled to sleep. Being on the rooftop, each room has chairs outside to sit and chill, this means that people come back at 2, 3, 5am or whatever and sit and talk/drink, and the sound goes right through the thin windows/doors. I had a nice stay here. The facilities were comparatively clean compared to other budget hotels in this region of the world. It is a bit hard to find though, I think this needs to be made clear to future guests. The hotel is BEHIND the storefront in the photo, you must go through the gate to the right of this spa. I would recommend this establishment to women visiting Chengdu on a budget.

My first stop in Chengdu was Xiangya, and initially, I had some doubts after seeing online reviews, worried about the environment. But when I arrived, I found it to be excellent – exceeding my expectations! The room was very comfortable, with no downsides; everything was superb. Downstairs is Evergrande Plaza, making dining and shopping very convenient. Chunxi Road is also not far away, so it's easy to walk there for meals. The staff at Xiangya are numerous and clean daily, tidying things up. I never saw any mess or dirt, which was very comforting and pleasant. Just a small suggestion: for the makeup area on the fifth floor, I recommend a taller mirror for convenience when standing. Also, if possible, it would be great to add some lighting around the makeup mirror, as the current lighting feels a bit dim.

This is an excellent hotel, I highly recommend it. The concierge and front desk staff were both incredibly welcoming and helpful. The service is fantastic, and the hygiene is impeccable. I definitely recommend this hotel for any traveler looking for a place to stay. It's truly excellent!

The facilities match the photos, easily top-tier for a hostel. In fact, it's the only hostel I've stayed in that has an ice maker. The rooms and hallways always smell nice, and the common area is spacious. Everything was great overall. BUT! There were bedbugs in my bed! The first day, I just endured it, thinking they were mosquito bites, but it was so itchy I scratched myself raw. I told the staff on the second day; they changed my bed and gave me some ointment, but it didn't help at all and it's still driving me crazy with the itching! I didn't get bitten once at hostels in Western Sichuan where conditions and facilities are basic, but I end up getting bitten here in Chengdu, which has such great hardware facilities.

I stayed at this hostel on a solo trip and had a really comfortable experience overall. The front desk staff were incredibly patient and efficient with check-in. They were always gentle and meticulous in helping with small things like asking for directions or storing luggage, providing truly thoughtful service. The cleanliness throughout the hostel was excellent. The beds in the rooms were neatly made and clean, there was no dust on the floors or furniture, and the bathrooms were regularly cleaned with no strange odors or water stains. The common lounge area was tidy and quiet, never messy or noisy, making it a relaxing spot to unwind during downtime. As a solo traveler, I felt very secure staying here. The environment is warm and cozy, and the price is very reasonable. It's perfect for both short trips and temporary stays, and definitely a great accommodation choice for solo female travelers.
