A great budget-friendly stay in Zhangye! We had a private twin room. The room was simple but cute, with rather hard Asian-style beds (which was fine for us). It's very central and surrounded by food spots and shops. Loved the traveler vibe here; easy to meet friends. The hostel organizes affordable, well-planned tours, and the English-speaking staff were super helpful. Highly recommend for backpackers!

I booked a bed in the female dormitory for 2 nights, my friends booked other beds/rooms. The hostel has all the necessary amenities. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. The bedding was fresh and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging devices. You will need to bring your own shower gel for the shower and the toilets are squat toilets which is standard in China. Met a lovely German girl while staying here. The host is a lovely and very helpful woman, she assisted us with any queries and even gave us some watermelon while we waited for our driver. If you want to visit any of the popular tourist spots in the Zhangye area she can organise a car tour for you and very reasonable prices- all very easy through WeChat. I visited the rainbow mountains/Zhangye National Geopark/Zhangye Danxia Geopark (张掖国家地质公园) and Mati Si temple (马蹄寺) while in Zhangye. The hostel is in a very good location too. The common area is nice and there is a tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of tea. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

The hygiene is very good, the environment is good, and the service attitude is very good. I give it a five-star rating. There is everything around, it is convenient to go out and eat, there is a supermarket downstairs, and there are many buses. The pedestrian street is also very close, the night market is particularly lively, and you can just walk to Zhongshan Bridge.

This time I felt that there were side curtains when I slept, but the two beds were spread out and I felt that there was no privacy. I was a little uncomfortable. I hope the boss will ask the guests for their opinions and add a track and a curtain above the connection between the two beds. Everything else is quite satisfactory!

It's a youth hostel in the community, the price/performance ratio is quite high. The boss remotely controlled me to find the location hahaha, it's very considerate. It's just a distribution of several space capsules in one room, and there are different choices, but it will still disturb others. If you want to pursue quietness, it's difficult. Satisfied. There are two ramen shops not far to the right when you go out of the community. Wanglaosan ramen is highly recommended. It costs 8 yuan for a bowl of very good noodles. It is even in thickness and chewy, and the soup is delicious. If you want to taste the umami of beef soup, don’t put it in. You can eat half of the spicy food before adding it to change the flavor. The spicy food is also fragrant but not spicy. For nine yuan, add a tael of beef and pour it into the noodles. The heat melts the fat of the beef. It is a very delicate beef sauce. It is very delicious. It is an excellent restaurant. After that, I went all the way to eat the famous Mogouyan Beef Noodles, but it was no good at all. The beef was thin and poor. The noodles were not strong and a bit soft when cooked in a large pot. The thickness was not right. There were so many people and there was no room. It was really not as good as next to the community. Wang Laosan. Fangha milk tea has a good reputation and is really delicious. Sweet fermented grains milk tea, sweet fermented grains green tea, highland barley yogurt, and gray bean milk tea are all delicious, because the ingredients are not commonly available to us in the east, and I don’t know any of them. It’s a waste, just dig it all out and eat it. The most recommended one is the sweet fermented grains milk tea. The sweet fermented grains have a slightly sour taste that neutralizes the sweetness of the milk tea. It is well worth a try. Newbies also get two 20% off coupons for their first purchase, which is very happy. There isn’t much in Xihu Old Street, it’s just cheap food. I saw several restaurants selling it for 46 yuan per pound, which is almost half cheaper than restaurants. If you like to eat hand-caught mutton, you can take it away. The kebabs at the night market are cheap, basically priced at RMB 1,500 to RMB 2 per skewer, just grab a pancake and eat it, haha! Almost all of the grilled lamb chops here are not grilled raw. They are cooked and burned on the fire, including Asiya. If you like to eat raw grilled, be careful. The soup ingredients in the haggis soup are directly proportional to the price you pay. Different prices look the same, but the cheaper ones will have a lot of vermicelli underneath. There are almost only a few pieces of haggis. If you want to eat well, remember to pay more, hehe. The tripe is really crispy, and the lamb liver is much more delicious than ours, without the smell. The mutton here is fresh and original and affordable, so it is not suitable for people who like complex seasonings. This is the third time I have been to Lanzhou. I have a very good impression of this city. It is a transportation hub in the central and western regions. The apartment is less than ten minutes' walk from the train station. The location is very good, suitable for getting on and off the train. I will come back again in the future. .

I especially recommend Jiahezhu if you are going to visit Zhangye before or after planting trees. The owner is very nice, the bed is very big, and the sanitary environment is also good. It is within walking distance of the night market and within the free shuttle service to Qicai Danxia, ​​Mati Temple and the Grand Canyon.
