Hostels in Victoria, Australia

Reminiscent of English pubs and Australian country pubs. Perfect for a solo traveller needing somewhere for a night to restock and recharge. Staff are can-do and will communicate everything you need to know without being invasive at all. The pub is busy downstairs and with good reason. The menu is diverse enough for most appetites. The common room absorbs sound and sports channels on. Sticks to basics and succeeds. Other guests clearly get it too as all shared areas are kept clean and safe without any need for posting rules everywhere. Definitely on my Melbourne list.

The hotel is okay and very convenient. There is a kitchen and restaurant on the first floor. It is very lively. The town is not big and everyone gets off work after dark. There are only two streets in the whole town. There is a supermarket that closes at 7pm. It is very quiet. The gas station is always open and sells food.

The location ist amazing. The kitchen is nice and big with several airfryers as well. Unfortunately there was not enough cutlery and other tools you might need for cooking. I was in a 10 bed dorm. The room was nice and spacious and the beds have thick curtains. The downside was the bathroom. I stayed for 7 nights and the bathroom was maybe cleaned twice. So it wasn't a really good experience to use it. There were also no additional bathrooms on any upper level. One bathroom is simply not enough for ten people. To summarize I expected better bathroom cleanliness and more bathrooms also on the upper levels. And also the early kitchen closure at 10pm was pretty annoying.

First time living in a hostel and already have some expectations of what is it going to be like Since feedback is that the shower heater does not work well where it gets cold and switches to hot suddenly causing my body to get burnt I was told that I can arrive early and store my luggage first but I didn’t expect that what they mean by storing is leaving my bag on the open vide floor in the corner of the pub (definitely know that it won’t be kept safe since the employees themselves are busy running the pub) The room is very smelly Like smellier than what I expected

The guesthouse's entrance and exterior are really pretty, and the beds are absolutely beautiful and super cozy! They even have bed curtains and storage, which is incredibly useful! Overall, it's a very well-decorated guesthouse. However, the bathroom seems to have a few issues! The bathroom was a bit disappointing.

Great location! It's near Southern Cross Station, with convenient shopping nearby – plenty of supermarkets and malls. Several attractions are within walking distance too. The room was clean, and security was good, with keycode access for both the main entrance and inner door.

Great location just a five minute drive to Woolies. The room is very clean with plenty of supplies like plates, bowls, tablewares, cotton swabs... The owner is pretty kind as well. Affordable and quality accommodations.

My first time staying in a hostel. A very good experience. The staff were amazing. Especially when checking out. My train was a night train and so I didn't want to take my luggage around with me, they allowed me to keep my luggage in the lockers which were provided until it was time for me to leave. Very friendly and welcoming. My room wasn't the fanciest but it was all I needed. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great for a single traveller who didn't want to share with strangers, very accommodating. Minor complaint about the lift being out of order on my last day. Especially being on level 4 with a heart condition, the stairs were a killer 😬. It couldn't have been helped. But the staff were onto it 🙂. Thank you YHA for a great first experience. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Nice roofdeck. People are nice. The toilets are clean. The kitchen is big. They accommodated my request to move to a smaller room of people.

This was one of the best yha we have stayed at. The room was bare but that is to be expected. The amenities, by contrast, were excellent: Two well appointed kichens with nice pans and plenty of space; A roof area and multiple living room areas; an herb garden and plenty of recycling areas; and the games and TV area looked brand new and not old and worn out . The kids enjoyed it and so did we. Highly recommended.
