This is the last hotel I stayed during my first business trip in Nepal. It is clean and service very nice, the room is well cleaned and towels and bathroom vs beds blankets all are highly standard clean . I feel comfortable here and happy . 13th floor have a nice place to have dinner . Happy to eat food of China type . Fruits are good and fresh . Top floor 15th also beautiful scenery. Very deserve to come and highly recommended. I admire the manager Shristi Manandhar, she is really an amazing manger for the hotel. We like her. Care about customer feeling and focus on improving hotel experience. Good job
Absolutely loved our stay at the Everest Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu! This hotel is a gem – beautifully designed in a traditional style, and everything feels brand new and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a great start to the day, with a good variety of options including fresh juices, tea, coffee, fruit, toast, cheese, and delicious pastries.
What really set this hotel apart was their excellent tour desk. We booked our trek to Everest Base Camp with them, and it turned out to be the best decision! Not only did they offer us the most competitive price compared to all the other tour agencies we checked, but our guide, Ram Bhandari (who is also a staff member at the hotel), was truly outstanding. He was incredibly helpful, attentive to our safety throughout the entire trek, and ensured we had great accommodations along the way. We can’t recommend Everest Boutique Hotel highly enough – book with them, and you won’t be disappointed!
In order to see the night view of Bad Gang Square, book this hotel specially. Convenient transportation, you can walk to Bad Gang Duba Square. Hotel facilities and services are satisfactory.
The staff allowed us to check in early after a long overnight train. Thank you. The hotel is comfortable and perfectly located. We could walk to the Potala and Jokhang Temple. Dozens of restaurants and cafes were also within walking distance. There was oxygen in the rooms and
breakfast staff were very welcoming. Would stay there again.
Extremely wonderful hotel 15 minutes walk from the airport. Everything was sparkling clean, comfortable, and I always felt well taken care of. The gym is well stocked and has a great view of the city. Breakfast was another highlight and included many delicious Nepalese, Indian, and Western foods. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind, helping me call taxis for a cheaper fare than the tourist rip off price, and they also helped me store my luggage overnight while I went on a yoga retreat. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!!
We really enjoyed our few days at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, cosy, quiet and airconditioned. The food is diverse and nice. Breakfast selection is small, but good.
It is located in one of the best locations in town, centrally located between main sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and the airport. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the latter.
The hotel’s pool, spa and gym are also recommended.
I was very sick after eating from the breakfast buffet and spent 21 hours in bed and vomiting profusely! The pastry are not covered and I stupidly ate some of those. The hotel manager was lovely and offered me soup and tea when he found out.
The gym is terrible and there’s an awful layout to the hotel. It’s not the best if you’re a solo travel looking to meet people in a communal space as there isn’t one.
The location is great though and the reception ladies do speak good English.
I wouldn’t stay here again personally.
I must first say that the service staff there were very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. The hotel staff were also very polite and kind and helped take photos. But I think the hotel rooms are not as beautiful as in the photos, and the outdoor balcony is actually very small and you can't see any scenery, which is very different from the pictures. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the swimming pool and hot spring pool, so if you come here for the facilities, it's okay. There are many facilities here, but basically you have to pay, even the sauna and steam room need to be reserved and paid. The hotel itself is independent and it takes at least 10 minutes by car or 30 minutes on foot to get to the more populated village. At this time of year, it will rain in the afternoon, and there are a lot of clouds and basically no mountains can be seen, so try to avoid this time. Their staff said that it is best to come from December to January! Breakfast was average
On this special day, I chose to check in at Shanker hotel.
The warm service, delicious food and quality environment, everything is so good.
The hotel prepares decorations and cake very thoughtfully, surprised us.
Due to the late arrival time, the hotel also thoughtfully provided me with dinner order so that could enjoy it when we arrived.
Finally the food upexpectedly delicious.
I recommend you to choose Shanker hotel.
Wherever it’s a vacation or celebration it is best choice.

Excellent location with many eateries right at doorstep. There is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel and serves excellent and delicious food. There is also a cafe at the lobby
The room was superb
I slept through the night especially after a long week of trekking
The only downside is there is no smart TV and everything on the screen is Chinese. Best part is there is a washing machine at higher floor where guest can washed their dirty hiking laundry.

GGuest UserLocation is amazing in Thamel, super easy to walk around for food and many things
Staff at front desk was very friendly and helpful
And there is a cocktail coupon every day
Only breakfast was too late because my schedule to leave at 9 am but it was ready at 8.30 am and two days in a row. Overall it is very nice hotel to stay when you go to Kathmandu
GGuest UserI think this is the best place to stay in Kathmandu. The hotel has its own market/bazaar which is so cool to walk through. Very peaceful and quiet.
Local food was quite delicious.
GGuest UserI spent 5 nights at the Fairfield by Marriott, about 2 weeks after a change of government through political protests. The room on level 7, had amazing views of the city and the mountains, with the desk perfectly positioned to reflect & admire this view. The marble bathroom and shower were awesome, with instant & reliable hot water. The tariff included a great breakfast, including hot and cold dishes. The staff serving the breakfast were amazing and would attend all requests in very efficient manner. The hotel is about a 10 minutes walk to clubs and bars. While the hotel street is relevantly quiet, I have felt very safe around this area day and night. There is an international convenience store in the same street of the hotel (4 min walk from hotel). Its is a little expensive, but they do accept credit cards The hotel does not have pool. During my visit in late September and early October, the temperate was a little hot for the first 2 days, and then a lot milder and slightly cool on the final day. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on room amenity, great service and very favourable rates.
MMatthew1122The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the service, as well as the food is excellent. The rooms however, are very old and small (we were able to change rooms after bringing this up with reception). The location is in Thamel and getting to nearby attractions is convenient
EExpatWas able to make a video. Cannot post that one on Trip app.
For this trip to Nepal, I had a driver scheduled ahead of time to make the drive up there in the dark easier. Pay extra if they stay or go down. No need to leave the property, but lovely locals in both road directions. It seems lots of people take their motorbikes up. There’s even college students and bus groups. Some vacant and less expensive hostels, but this location has everything needed. I think it’s a good night or two to stay. I arrived dinner and stayed two nights. All employees wonderful. Binod said Hotel can help arrange driver, but the bus also comes up. Sunrise depends on fog. Good either way.
GGuest UserThe hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable.
Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here.
Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.
JJohn Vincent (JV)Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve.
Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all.
The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great.
2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges.
Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience.
Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days.
Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern.
Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager.
A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

GGuest UserVery good and comfortable hotel staff is. Very courteous They can improve the break fast menu. Indian breakfast items are not upto the mark,
Further if they keep or offer the biscuit or cookies
In room along with tea /. Coffee maker that will be very nice.
GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay — Truly Memorable Experience!
From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was greeted with warm smiles and refreshing drinks. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and offered a stunning view — every detail was thoughtfully arranged for comfort and relaxation.
The hotel’s amenities exceeded my expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a wide selection of fresh, flavorful options to suit every taste. The housekeeping team maintained everything perfectly throughout my stay. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the excellent Wi-Fi connection, making it ideal for both leisure and work.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the level of hospitality. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay — from recommending local attractions to assisting with transportation.
Overall, this hotel combines luxury, comfort, and genuine care in the best way possible. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and can’t wait to return again soon!
