Plus: some of the cruise service crew provided excellent service, there were several facilities onboard to cater to all ages, food was plenty and tasty, good experience at Naha, Okinawa; it has its own unique charm without the crowd. Minus: long walk to board the cruise at Shanghai, a real struggle for my elderly parents. Our first dinner at the dining hall was chaotic; no one informed us that we’ve been pre-assigned dining times until we reached our turn after queuing for quite some time. As we were one of the last passengers to board, there was no service staff on standby at the entrance to greet and assist us to our cabin rooms, we had to go high and low to look for the relevant service staff. Our cabin room was a bit cramp for three adults. Toilet within the cabin room can only fit one person at a time.

It is a rare opportunity for my family to go on a cruise at Baltic Sea. This cruise is perfect in dates, so we are able to join. Booking a cruise save the hassle of driving and moving every day from one city to another city. Everyday u wake up it is a different city to explore. There are excursions (need to pay) daily in the new city and you should just take it to stroll thru this sea city. Food options are adequate but after 5dsys will will still be boring for the standard meal and you can opt for paid options. Drink package is not needed if you r not a big drinker. Just pay for the drink as and went. Overall I recommed to give this time of trip a try. It is overall a very good experience.

Booked through NATAS Fair at a good price, with complimentary one-way transportation from home to Marina Bay Cruise Centre (MBCC), which was a great bonus! We stayed in Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah #10162 (Forward). The room was great, and the king-sized bed was comfortable. The ship was also very stable throughout the cruise, making the sailing experience pleasant. As for the food, we really enjoyed the Western and Indian selections! However, the Chinese and Japanese-style dishes were not quite to our taste. Overall, we had a great first Disney Cruise experience!

Our first cruise trip with our family of five was fantastic! First and foremost, a huge thank you to our tour guide, Li Zheng. We'd always traveled independently before, so this was our first time on a group tour. Li Zheng was incredibly kind and patient, with a vast knowledge of everything from astronomy to geography. Listening to her explain various aspects of European history was far more interesting than any history class we'd ever attended. When we met other Chinese tour guides at the hotel, they were nothing compared to her! Even my mom said she'd definitely book a tour with Li Zheng next time. The second pleasant surprise was that we were given an extra room on the cruise. We were supposed to be three people sharing a room, but when we got our tickets, we discovered one of us had a single room, so the room wasn't cramped at all. The only downside was that the beds on the cruise were quite small, which wasn't ideal for us accustomed to the large beds in Chinese dorms. The two days of land travel were quite a lot of driving; European traffic is terrible. It would have been perfect if we had done the land travel first and then gone on the ship. In short, thank you, Li Zheng! 5 stars!

🚢 Title: Is a 1300 RMB Inside Cabin on the MSC Grandiosa from Shanghai to Tokyo Worth It? As a novice in the travel industry, I personally experienced the MSC Grandiosa, which is heavily advertised on various platforms. The route was a one-way trip from Shanghai to Tokyo, and I secured an inside cabin for only around 1300 RMB – a truly unbeatable price, practically a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To be honest, because the price was so attractive, I didn't have high expectations at first. But the moment I stepped into the cabin, my first impression was: although there were many people, it was lively, and everything was very orderly. 🍽️ Regarding food and accommodation: I had an inside cabin all to myself, offering excellent privacy. The main restaurant's meals changed daily, with exquisite plating. The portions weren't huge (given the large number of passengers and limited freshly cooked dishes in the cabins, the cooking methods were relatively simple), but they were definitely enough to fill you up! I must give a special shout-out to one of the foreign staff members in the main restaurant who served us! Despite the large number of tourists and the extremely demanding workload, he still tried his best to meet our orders, with a great attitude and without complaint—truly dedicated! 🎢 Regarding activities and sights: The ship is spacious, offering plenty of room to explore. I experienced the water park and watched a fantastic magic show. The sea breeze was very pleasant; in the evening, going to the rooftop to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the sunset was incredibly relaxing, and every snapshot looked like a masterpiece. When bored, hiding in the room and reading was also a rare moment of tranquility. 🌊 Regarding a genuine and objective review: A typhoon occurred nearby during the voyage, causing the ship to be quite bumpy (the first few days were fine, but on the third day I experienced severe seasickness; I strongly recommend that anyone prone to seasickness rest more). Online reviews of this ship are polarized, with some praising it to the skies and others vehemently criticizing it. My honest feeling is: it's just an average cruise ship, neither particularly outstanding nor terrible. It's not as luxurious as some might imagine, but it's definitely not as bad as some of the negative online reviews suggest. After all, staff have limited energy, and they're doing their best to provide service to such a large number of passengers. Of course, it's also hoped that the cruise company can pay more attention to humanistic care. 💡 Summary and Recommendations: Those prone to seasickness, please consider carefully! Don't have too high expectations, but don't be too disappointed either. If you're like me, with a limited budget (like a working-class person like me who isn't very wealthy), and want to experience a cruise trip abroad on a budget, then this trip is definitely worth experiencing. Overall Rating: Nothing special. But considering the price, I have to give it a high score! 👍 #CoolSummerOnMSCGlory #MSCMediterraneanCruise #MSCGlory #CruiseTravel #MSCGlory #ShanghaiToTokyo

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
The night before disembarkation, affix luggage tags to all checked bags as instructed by the cruise operator and leave them at the marked zone outside your cabin. Do not pack items required for the next day such as daily wear, official documents and valuables into checked luggage. Retain your passport, room key and hand luggage with yourself. On disembark day, exit your cabin by the stated timing and proceed ashore in allocated groups per announcements. Avoid remaining inside the cabin. Inspect every drawer, closet and cabin safe thoroughly. Exact timings and baggage rules follow the cruise line’s Disembarkation Guide.

The m/s Paul Gauguin has completed its multi-million-dollar refurbishment

The m/s Paul Gauguin has completed its multi-million-dollar refurbishment

Paul Gauguin Cruises, the French Polynesia destination expert and winner of Condé Nast Traveler's 2024 Readers' Choice Award for "Best Small Cruise Ship," announced that the 330-passenger m/s Paul Gauguin has recently completed a seven-week refurbishment in Singapore. This comprehensive multi-million-dollar renovation features refreshed spatial designs, upgraded guest facilities, and sustainable technology enhancements to continuously elevate passengers' "seamless and carefree" cruise experience. Key highlights of the refurbishment include a modern makeover for the popular Le Grill restaurant, a redesigned pool deck with shaded cabana seating areas, four new connecting staterooms, updated soft furnishings throughout the ship, and sustainable technology upgrades. The redesign was led by globally renowned transportation design firm Stirling Design International, whose innovative approach perfectly aligns with Paul Gauguin Cruises' artistic ambiance and authentic exploration ethos. Interwoven latticework, canvas elements, and warm wood finishes harmonize beautifully with breathtaking tropical landscapes, showcasing a modern aesthetic that coexists with nature. Refurbishment highlights of m/s Paul Gauguin: Connecting Staterooms: Four new connecting staterooms have been added on Deck 7 to meet the growing demand for multigenerational (family) travel, complementing the highly successful "Moana Explorer Program" for children aged 6 to 15—a program developed in partnership with Te mana o te moana, the South Pacific's premier marine education and conservation foundation. Le Grill Restaurant Makeover: The open-air restaurant by the pool features a stylish, contemporary design with white wooden screens, ceramic tiles, soft oak furniture, and chic lighting, creating an elegant dining atmosphere for guests to enjoy the ship's renowned culinary offerings. Pool Deck Transformation: The pool deck now boasts new white canopies providing shade for cabana-style seating areas, while the pool's exterior is adorned with new mosaic tiles. Spacious white loungers surround the space, offering guests a perfect spot for relaxation. Sustainable Technology: The ship now features advanced heat recovery systems, high-efficiency chillers, and optimized electric motors to significantly reduce energy consumption. A new seawater treatment system produces fresh water onboard, while the Nordaq filtration system creates drinking water from seawater, helping eliminate plastic bottles and minimize single-use plastics. Waste management improvements include glass crushers and cardboard compactors for efficient recycling. Visual Upgrades: Paying homage to parent company PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP, the ship's funnel now displays PONANT's iconic "Three Sails" logo, crafted from polished steel with LED backlighting for striking nighttime visibility. Additionally, Paul Gauguin Cruises' "P-shaped emblem" is prominently positioned at the bow of Deck 8, while the sleek white hull incorporates modern gray accents. These designs reflect the shared values of the group's brands, embodying a commitment to authentic exploration and maritime spirit. The m/s Paul Gauguin returned to French Polynesia in May for year-round operations, continuing to offer its award-winning all-inclusive luxury cruises with 7- to 14-night island itineraries to the Society Islands, Tuamotu Archipelago, Cook Islands, and Marquesas Islands.
