The Costa Cruises' Splendor offers decent value for money, but the two stops in Marseille, Italy, felt a bit repetitive.

I accompanied my mother on a cruise trip, and booked all services through Ctrip. Since it wasn't a group tour, we had to book each part of the itinerary ourselves. However, Ctrip's service was comprehensive and attentive; they were very helpful with any questions and provided answers quickly. The cruise itself was excellent. The itinerary's duration was quite reasonable. However, the shore excursions focused more on city views; more natural scenery would have been better. It's essential to book shore excursions early, as good options fill up quickly. Overall, it was a very good trip, highly recommended!

Thanks to the captain's wise decision, although our journey was shortened by a day, everyone on board arrived safely and happily.

My first cruise experience 🛳️ was generally quite good. 1. Accommodation: I chose a triple ocean-view room. Each person had their own single bed, the bedding was comfortable, and the room was cleaned promptly. I slept well every night. 2. Dining: The first day of boarding involved a long processing time, especially during the holidays when things were very slow. After boarding, I had a quick dinner in a long queue. The food was very average. We ate on the 9th floor, and the dishes were placed far away; I had to stretch my arm to reach them. My first meal was a poor experience. Later, we ate on the 3rd floor. Breakfast and lunch were buffets, but the selection was limited and the taste was average. Dinner was à la carte, mainly Western food, which was a good experience. Each dish was carefully plated and presented, and the taste was good. I felt treated with care. 3. Entertainment: The ship offered a variety of entertainment options. A daily newspaper was sent out and placed in the mailbox outside the room, clearly showing the day's activities. The ship's performances were excellent and worth seeing. 4. Itinerary: The Sabah experience was the best. There was a welcoming ceremony upon disembarking, making the disembarkation process very smooth. The Nha Trang docking experience was the worst. It docked at Anna Marina, requiring shuttle boats to ferry guests ashore, which was extremely inefficient. With over a thousand passengers, only 2-3 small boats were deployed. Some guests didn't disembark until noon, and could only briefly look around the shore. Chen My Port in Vietnam is very far from the city center, docking at 2 PM, leaving little time for shore excursions. 5. Onboard Expenses: It's best to carry cash (USD, RMB) and a linked credit card; otherwise, the front desk always has long queues. Overall Experience: Overall, it's still quite good, a top choice for leisure travel during the Spring Festival. Doing your research beforehand can save you a lot of trouble.

The service on the cruise ship was quite good, and the shore excursions and tour leader service were also excellent.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
The night before disembarkation, affix luggage tags to all checked bags as instructed by the cruise operator and leave them at the marked zone outside your cabin. Do not pack items required for the next day such as daily wear, official documents and valuables into checked luggage. Retain your passport, room key and hand luggage with yourself. On disembark day, exit your cabin by the stated timing and proceed ashore in allocated groups per announcements. Avoid remaining inside the cabin. Inspect every drawer, closet and cabin safe thoroughly. Exact timings and baggage rules follow the cruise line’s Disembarkation Guide.

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

#cruiseholiday Hold onto your glitter, because Carnival Splendor isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating ‘70s revival where the pink zebra-striped decor is wild, the dessert menu never ends, and the party lasts all night. I just got back, and my inner diva is still recovering. Here’s the scoop: First Impressions: Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a disco ball explosion—pink glass elevators, neon lights, and the smell of Pinnacle Steakhouse’s sizzling filets 🥩 mixing with Swirls’ soft-serve vanilla. The vibe? “Saturday Night Fever meets all-you-can-eat.” The “This Ship is SO Extra” Moment: The Cloud 9 Spa’s thalassotherapy pool—a giant saltwater hot tub where I melted like the chocolate cake I’d later inhale. But the real hidden gem? El Mojito Bar’s spicy watermelon mojito (ask for extra chili salt!). 🌶️🍹 Foodie Glory: Chocolate Melting Cake ruined me for all other desserts (I ate it six nights straight). But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s prosciutto pie? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕 My “Disco Never Dies” Itinerary: ⏰ 9 AM: Seaday Brunch with maple bacon pancakes (because balance). ⏰ 12 PM: Twister Waterslide (screamed like I was on American Idol). ⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand). ⏰ 8 PM: Pink Zebra Lounge karaoke (Dancing Queen = mandatory). ⏰ 12 AM: Robusto Bar’s cigar lounge (felt dangerously fancy). Pro Tip: Book the steakhouse on embarkation day—it’s half-price! Also, Lido Deck’s midnight nachos are a sinful must. 🌮 Final Verdict: 20/10, left sugar-drunk, slightly hoarse, and already planning my next glitter-filled escape. Who’s ready to splurge on Splendor? 💃

🇭🇰Pilot Star・The vitality of the sea

🇭🇰Pilot Star・The vitality of the sea

I sincerely want to share with you that taking a cruise is really a must-try experience because it is too good to shoot and too much fun! I've been on two cruises, and every time I post or feed, my friends go crazy and ask, "Is the cruise awesome? Is it fun?" And I always have one answer – cool! 🎉 Every morning when you open the curtains, you will see an endless sea🌊, the sky and the sea are connected by a line. That healing feeling can never be found in the city. You will feel completely relieved of the pressure. My mood immediately relaxed, as if even breathing was much fresher. In addition to the scenery, life on a cruise is exciting: 🍽️ Food, basically from morning to night, the restaurant has a lot of choice, Western food, Chinese food, buffet, as well as desserts and cocktails, can completely satisfy your taste buds. 🎶 For entertainment, there will be performances, concerts, dance shows, and even a casino at night. 🏊 For leisure, you can take a dip in the pool, sunbathe on the deck, or relax at the spa. Most importantly, whether you like to take pictures or enjoy a leisurely vacation, a cruise is sure to satisfy you. Many photos I took at random, straight out without filter, has been beautiful to be 📷 Even just for these few photos, the cruise is worth the trip! What’s more, you can still see the sea and eat while feeling the vitality and romance of the sea. This is an experience that no other mode of travel can match at all. ✨ So, if you want a truly relaxing and fulfilling journey, Look no further – cruises are a must-try! #CruiseFirstExperience #CruiseTravel #CruiseVacation #HongKongCruise #RitzCruise #RitzCruiseLeadingStar #Kai Tak Cruise Terminal #Seaview #LifePhotos
