Beach Hotels in Terengganu, Malaysia

Great location near the Terengganu River and city center. * Some rooms offer beautiful river or bridge views, especially at night. * Spacious rooms compared to many newer budget hotels. * Good value for money for a short stay. * Convenient access to local attractions and food spots.

Newly renovated hotel so you guys should try. Low price but high quality hahaha. Just during my stay 06/06/2026 boleh pulak blackout start 1am to 4am.😩😩😩🥹🥹

Pros- The location is good and the environment of the outside resort is also good.also the beach view is stunning.as well as their breakfast also not bad. Cons - their room situation is very very bad. Need to renovate. So old furniture and everything inside the room.feels like it will break now.Also smelly.The door even the bed everything is half broken already. Even it was rusting inside. So I will say it’s not worth it with the price we paid for one night in this room.  Suggestion- your resort is big also attractive. Please do some renovations so you can attract more guests also can give them a better experience thank you.

Things i enjoyed: Clean beach, large pools with playgrounds, friendly staffs. Pools have lifeguards on duty. Huge lobby. Kids fun club is okay. Just that the inflatable playground wasn't very sturdy. Cons: Lack of activities, hallway a big dark at night. One of thhings i wished to do here is atv ride and get a spa massage. But the atv is no longer available. The spas are no longer open. A bit sad. The place have a lot of potential. Went to turtoise information center but no one there. A security staff told us to go to reception for more info but just didn't have enough time to. The place is huge. Food is a bit pricey but i guess its okay for 4 or 5 stars hotel. Just that the taste is average.

From the smooth check-in until check-out, every moment made our stay truly enjoyable, memorable, and relaxing. We had a very happy experience at the resort and would highly recommend Tanjong Jara Resort to our family and friends. It is definitely one of the best resort choices in Terengganu. Special thanks and appreciation to Ai Li, Umah, Haziq, Ruzly, Angel, Amira, Athir, Yusri, Yanna, Khairi, and Aidil for their excellent service, warm hospitality, and dedication in making our stay so pleasant. Room is relatively clean. Beddings is fine. Lighting is too dark. AC cold good. Fridge is disgusting so we didn't use. Bathroom is horrible 😓 I booked 3 rooms all 3 shower head not in good condition. Please change the shower head! It doesn't cost you a bomb. The doors is disgusting. Feel so uncomfortable. We wash our hair at the pool shower area. There isn't any choice of food. Only the coffeehouse limited food. If wants to go to Long Beach for more choice of food will cost Rm50/per head boat. The only good experience is the employees all are superb professional, good manners, helpful.

Overall, our stay was positive. However, the first rooms our family was assigned were dirty (windows, plumbing, stained furniture, dust), the towels were grey, and the mattress had a musty smell in places. BUT, I must emphasize that this was the *only* disappointment, and it was resolved within a couple of hours! We extend our immense gratitude to the hotel management and especially to Mr. Bryan, who upgraded us to a Premier room with two bedrooms and a living room. This room had been recently renovated and was spotlessly clean, with a new mattress and comfortable pillows. Bottled water was provided in the room, and in the evenings, staff brought delicious chocolates and prepared the room for bedtime. We slept wonderfully; it was perfectly quiet, and the bay view was breathtaking! I want to highlight the dinner buffet (130 RM per person): an excellent selection of main courses, soups, quality desserts, ice cream, tea, coffee, and water. Please offer these dinners more often! We also ordered pizza to the room, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The dishes at the Indian restaurant were small and could have been better. The bay is beautiful, and the water is a fantastic color. The hotel provides free life jackets and kayaks, and you can swim and even see sea turtles. The hotel also offered a free shuttle to and from Village Jetty. We spent three wonderful days at the hotel and didn't want to leave! Our suggestions for management would be to update all the rooms and to clean and repaint the sun loungers. Mr. Bryan, thank you again for your help and care in resolving our issues! The hotel service is 10/10.

First of all the location is very strategic.My view is pantai.sangat cantik.. i book 2 deluxe room, for my small family and parents. Bilik parents takde tuala ,even remote tv takde. I call reception ＞5 times,they do answered finally and send to towel. Lambat sikit but still okay.. but but but When i went into my room,the amenties cukup..when i tried to lay down on bed.. ada blood stained😭. I called again receptionist ＞10 times yer..tak angkat. So turun bawah complained within 30 min, tukar bedsheet. Sy tak boleh brain mcm mana boleh ada blood stained.parking itself takde ,ada basement and floor 1-2 shj utk park,memang park jelah merata. Other than that,mknn bnyk cuma tawar sikit haha,tp kenyang dan variety.love it, toilet bersih,aircond mantul,tv semua channel lancar.. sekian my review. Would i repeat again? Hmmmmm

So, how about PIR? Let's start with the pros. The sea view is unbeatable, and it has its own long stretch of beach. I'd say it's the second-best on Perhentian Island, right after Long Beach, and definitely better than the two beaches below the Marriott. I even saw sea turtles, sharks, Nemo, and schools of fish while snorkeling – very satisfying! There are also monkeys, squirrels, lizards, and other small animals behind the resort. The staff were very helpful, assisting with luggage from the jetty to the room and again at check-out, which was great. PIR also offers water taxi and island hopping tours, and the prices are quite reasonable. You can also walk to other restaurants for meals. A whole fish cost 80 MYR, which is much cheaper than the 200 MYR at the Marriott. Now for the cons. PIR's breakfast is absolutely terrible. Besides fried eggs, I really didn't know what to eat, though the watermelon was decent. Their regular meals are okay, similar in taste to Mama's. The soundproofing is definitely poor; you can hear conversations from the next room and even the sound of the waves. Also, the bed sheets weren't very clean. I'd recommend bringing your own bedding.
