The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort

Excellent hotel on a stunning island, with white sand and turquoise water. This seems to be the best beach on Redang. You can snorkel with turtles right from the shore. The room was spacious, the service was great, and there's a gym with panoramic ocean views. The breakfast had a good variety.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms with excellent beach and sea views, delicious food, and a large territory. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely come back again.

I read a lot of reviews before coming, so my expectations weren't too high. But after arriving, I found that besides the high price, everything else was truly excellent. Our hotel was the only one on the entire beach, so if you like fewer crowds, this is the place to go. Bryan was fantastic; he sent us all the hotel activities and restaurant information upon arrival, and he was very quick to respond to any requests. Every staff member at the hotel greeted us with a smile and a warm hello. We brought our child, and they even sent snacks to our room every day. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Honestly, besides being expensive, there's nothing to fault!

The hotel has a great beach view, and Ms. Meiling, the Chinese-speaking customer service representative, provided excellent service! However, the beach BBQ buffet is a rip-off. For 180 MYR per person, they don't even have Coke or Sprite, the juice is watered down, and there are only three main dishes: lamb chops, beef, chicken, shrimp, and mussels. The best resort on Redang Island, situated in a secluded bay where the beach is exclusive to hotel guests. It's right next to an area frequented by turtles, and you can see plenty of corals and fish just by snorkeling. During our stay, we felt the warmth and enthusiasm of every hotel staff member, especially Ms. Meiling, who provided excellent concierge service.

It was really expensive, but it was also true that there were fewer people, it was clean, and the scenery was beautiful. What I didn't expect was that the price dropped by more than 2,000 yuan just over a week after I booked it, and I couldn't cancel it, so I just had to accept it.

Overall, it was great value for money. We booked a family suite, which turned out to be a connecting room with a king-size bed and a living area, plus a standard twin room. The room was incredibly spacious – listed at 79 square meters, but it felt even larger – and had fantastic views from the window. Soaking in the jacuzzi tub was pure bliss. The hotel service was also excellent; the shuttle service was always waiting for us ahead of time. Although it's a 2012 hotel, it's very well-maintained, and the room facilities don't show their age. The only two things we found challenging were the mattress and the dining options. My husband and I are used to firm mattresses, and the hotel's beds were a bit too soft for us to get used to. As for dining, there's only the hotel restaurant, and nothing else to eat nearby. Overall, we were very satisfied.
