The hotel is great for a layover as it is super close to the airport. They have a shuttle which was a great help for me. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner as I missed SA food. Most of the staff was really helpful (especially Lily from the kitchen) she went above and beyond to help me cause I was with a baby. She made sure I was comfortable, had my food while she was holding my baby. I really appreciate that, thank you 🙏 . I also observed her around other customers she kept the same energy. My room was cleaned daily which was nice. My suggestion is some stuff member must give the same service to everyone regardless of who they are and how they look.

The hotel smelled so good right from the entrance. The staff were very professional, kind and helpful. The shuttle driver David was extremely kind. He walked me to Nelson Mandela square and showed me also how to get back to the pick up area. He addressed me as “madam”. The check in was easy peasey. The young lady at check in was so helpful and kind. The concierge was beyond helpful too. The young man I forgot his name was so welcoming. Showed me how the elevator works. The restaurant staff especially the guys in the kitchen who cooked my eggs were very understanding and kind. Everyone I met at the hotel left a lasting impression on me. Located about 30 minutes on foot from Pretoria Station, convenient for sightseeing. Adjacent to Sunny Park Shopping Center, restaurants and supermarkets are enriched. You can see the Union Building from the window, and the room is comfortable with a soft and fluffy bed. Shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap are provided. To get to the reception on the 2nd floor, you need to go through security on the 1st floor, so safety measures are solid. The WIFI signal is strong and the internet environment is also ◎

It was our first time in joburg and it was lovely. The hotel was always clean. The food was great. Aside the breakfast which had a lot of variety, we also got to try some local dishes recommended by staff at the restaurant. The room was small but it was sufficient, as we were mostly busy sightseeing.

The hotel is definitely worth the price. Its a 15 min drive from the airport and theres a shopping centre within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The Mangwanani spa offers great services. All restaurants serve the most delicious dishes throughout the day. Theres also a rooftop bar with live performances on certain days. Ill surely return again.

Pros: First of all the service I got from the receptionist was really good, she had someone carry my bags to the room and the location of the hotel is close to the airport which is very convenient for traveling after your stay. Cons: The room had a strong smell of paint, it was so bad I couldn't even breathe as all the windows were closed upon my arrival. The pillow cases in the bedroom didn't look clean to me I used my clothes to lay my face on because it was just nasty. The shower is not convenient to use, it's too small and you cannot move the shower head to a desired position. There was no fan or airconditioner in the bedroom, it was really hot. The furniture is outdated, some couches with holes in them it's a mess Overall, I will not sleep here ever again! The money charged is clearly just for being close to the airport because it is too much for that room.

I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay. In short, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it didn’t blow me away either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.

Great Location and Convenient Shuttle Service I recently stayed at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport Hotel and found it to be very convenient. The location is ideal, being so close to the airport, which made catching my flight stress-free. They offer a complimentary shuttle bus service every 15 minutes from the airport’s Bus Terminal to the hotel, which was incredibly convenient. The room itself was acceptable, the bed was particularly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. Overall, a good option for travelers looking for comfort and ease near the airport.

Check in was painless and efficient. Hotel is some distance from airport and the shuttle from hotel only runs on the hour so need to plan accordingly to catch your flight as peak hour traffic could be problematical. Facilities are adequate for overnighting and hotel and room was clean. Room was well equipped with full ensuite, towels, and soaps.

It’s conveniently close to Sandton City Mall, which made shopping and getting around very easy. The room was also clean and well-maintained, with housekeeping coming in daily, which I appreciated. However, I did experience an ongoing issue with the room key card. Every time I returned to my room, the card wouldn’t open the door. This happened multiple times during my stay, and it became quite frustrating, especially when I had shopping bags or luggage with me. I had to carry everything downstairs to the reception to report the issue, only to be told someone would come assist. I’d then have to go back upstairs and wait, sometimes for quite a while. Occasionally, one of the cleaning staff was kind enough to open the door for me, which helped, but the inconsistency and inconvenience definitely affected my overall experience.
