"The hostel do not have the basic ammenities, such as shampoo, lift and air conditining
The hotel is near to the old town, but far from the main station. The hostel is opposite to the pub, which will be noisy during night time.
The toilet is dirty, the kitchen is very dark or gloomy.
Value for money, but no the best choice."
GGuest UserI recently stayed at this hotel and while the location and views are quite decent, the overall service fell short of expectations.
Firstly, basic amenities such as drinking water were not provided. When we asked, the receptionist even suggested that we drink tap water, which was quite surprising for a hotel of this standard.
Secondly, the service level was disappointing. The bellboys did not assist us with our luggage upon arrival, which is something typically expected.
Overall, while the hotel has potential due to its location, the service quality clearly needs improvement.
GGuest UserThe hotel is very conveniently located, which is definitely a plus. However, there are several issues that prevent it from truly living up to its five-star rating.
At check-in, we were not informed that parking was paid. As a result, after three days of stay, we were required to pay a rather significant amount at check-out, which came as an unpleasant surprise.
The rooms are generally comfortable and well equipped, but in the bathroom there were noticeable uncleaned areas and fingerprints on the faucets, indicating that housekeeping was not done thoroughly.
I would also like to specifically mention the breakfasts, which were a complete disappointment. From a five-star hotel belonging to an international chain, a very different standard is expected. The food was not fresh and appeared dried out (see photos), the selection did not change from day to day, there was almost no pastry, desserts were limited to just two items, and there were no vegetarian options at all, which seems strange for a hotel of this level.
GGuest UserConvenient location. Bus, tram, and train right on your doorstep. Lidl in the basement! Parking in the underground car park is easy, but the €11 price is a bit steep... but it's safe! Awesome breakfast! Highly recommended. The gym is showing its age, not bad, but not good either...
The only real drawback... the ladies who clean the rooms are ”very, very perfunctory.”
Otherwise, highly recommended!
VVivian tripThe hotel's location in the Old Town is fantastic, right next to the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, making it super convenient for exploring the Old Town. On the flip side, it's a bit of a distance from the train station, which could be tough if you're lugging suitcases, especially in heavy snow.
The breakfast selection was decent and quite tasty.
We were given a connecting room, and I specifically mentioned my concern about potential noise. Luckily, our neighbors were quiet, and we didn't hear a peep at night. The room itself was quite spacious, but I felt the chaise lounge took up valuable space. It would have been perfect if it were replaced with a small round table and two chairs.
There's a kettle in the room, but no complimentary water. I couldn't find a water dispenser on the second floor, and the one in the gym wasn't working. Other than that, everything else was great!
LLilunxianxingyushijianThe hotel is not in the city, but the price/performance ratio is OK. The bus stop is at the door. This hotel is a Ford Motor Hotel! There is a KFC Grandpa opposite the hotel! Stay in winter to avoid New Year's Day, the price is cheaper!
EElenaLonAmazing hotel right in the heart of the Old City. Everything is just around the corner. Beautiful views from the rooftop bar (and amazing cocktails, too). We have experienced impeccable service, I am very impressed with how friendly and attentive everyone has been. Our room (accommodating family of 3) was very spacious and so clean, everything was new. You can select your pillows if you like and get extra toiletry items from the reception. I would absolutely come back as this was truly a great one night stay!
ZZHIMINFamily holiday trip, staying at this hotel in Gdansk, this is a city center location, just on Amber Street, right outside, it is not far from all attractions, there is bottled water, no phone in the room, no kettle and coffee Machine, as you can freely enjoy tea or coffee with your room card in the lobby. The room is also good. Our room is an interior view room, the lobby lights are bright, the room has blackout curtains, and the breakfast is also good for me. Although not as good as a domestic four-star hotel, it was quite good during our trip. If there is a chance to go to Poland, this place is pretty good
HHoeNamThe Scandic Hotel ~ Location, Staffs, Room Cleanness & Room’s view = What can I say, One Word ~ Perfect:)
Just 3 slow walk through the Gdansk Clowny (Train) Station underground/underpass. The hotel is exactly located when you walk out from the underground stairs.
15mins walking distance to the main Town Hall & all the landmarks of Gdansk. You can choose to book Bolt or Uber. Very reasonable price if you are lazy to walk especially during Winter Season. But I choose to walk cause you’ll non stop snapping for pictures along the way. Gdansk in White is in another World man..loved it. Highly recommend Scandic Gdansk hotel to anyone. Cheers :)
GGuest UserThe location is convenient; you can see it right after exiting the airport. It's also easy to take a bus to the city center. They offer 24-hour check-in, and you can store your luggage after check-out. The breakfast is plentiful, and the staff are very friendly.
MMandymoo1Great value hotel in the old town. The hotel was lovely and clean. We stayed in a standard room, it had a double bed, sofa, coffee table, balcony tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was buffet style and very very busy. We only used it once. Much nicer places to eat a short 5/10 mins in the centre.
