Traveling to Malaysia or having an overnight layover? Ditch those hard airport benches! Let me share my experience at Sama-Sama Hotel, the only 5-star airport hotel at KLIA T1.
✈️ If you're arriving on an international flight (at KLIA Terminal 1), whether you need a good rest after a long journey or have an early flight the next day, this hotel is definitely your top choice.
🚗 How to get from Arrivals to the Hotel?
(Includes shuttle service guide)
Please do not attempt to walk with heavy luggage; it's quite a distance (approx. 500 meters).
🛬 Arrive at Level 2: After clearing immigration and collecting your baggage, take the elevator to Level 2.
📍 Find the Buggy Station: Look for signs pointing to 'Sama-Sama Hotel.' The shuttle station is directly opposite the Food Garden.
🚗 Call a Shuttle: There's a dedicated 24-hour free buggy service. Just wait a moment (or press the call button), and a uniformed staff member will drive you and your luggage via an indoor skybridge directly to the hotel lobby in just 3 minutes.
🍳 A 'Food City' Level Breakfast that Amazes the Taste Buds
The hotel's Continents restaurant offers 24-hour service, and its breakfast is renowned.
🥘 A Fusion of Global Flavors: Malaysian dishes (the Nasi Lemak is a must-try!), Chinese dim sum and hot congee, authentic Indian curry with Roti Canai, Thai Tom Yum, and a full Western breakfast spread.
🍰 Dessert Paradise: A wide variety of Western cakes, freshly baked bread, and colorful Nyonya pastries, all visually stunning.
🏨 Hotel Facilities and History
Although the hotel opened in 1998 (formerly Pan Pacific), it underwent extensive renovations when it rebranded as Sama-Sama in 2013. It's incredibly well-maintained and exudes a 5-star quality.
✨ Room Types: Offers 442 rooms, including Deluxe, Premier, and more luxurious Suites. The rooms feature double-glazed windows for excellent soundproofing, and some even offer views of the tarmac.
🏊♀️ Swimming Pool and Gym: The outdoor tropical garden pool on the 1st floor has a fantastic ambiance, and the 24-hour gym is fully equipped.
💆 Sari Kayangan Spa: Provides professional Malay massage services, perfect for relieving flight fatigue.
🍸 Traveller’s Bar & Grill: Features live band performances in the evening, offering steaks and various cocktails in a wonderful atmosphere.
✨ As a national airport hotel, it frequently hosts dignitaries, sports stars (like F1 drivers), and VVIPs attending international conferences.
💡 How to choose a transit hotel❓
✅ Sama-Sama has two properties at KLIA T1; choose based on your needs:
1️⃣ Sama-Sama Express (airside/near Gate C5): No immigration required, suitable for short transits of up to 6 hours, charged hourly, and more affordable.
2️⃣ Sama-Sama Hotel (landside/this review's focus): Requires immigration clearance into Malaysia. Highly recommended for stays longer than 6 hours! Offers larger spaces, more comfortable bedding, and a full range of facilities.👍
I recently stayed at paxtonz, and it was a truly pleasant experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff were warm and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially enjoyed the cozy bed and the peaceful environment, which made it easy to unwind after a long day.
Had a fantastic stay! First off, the value for money is exceptional. Getting a Marriott brand at this price point is a real bargain. The location is great too, not far from IOI City Mall and the Pink Mosque – just a few minutes by taxi, very convenient. The room, while not huge, is super modern and efficiently designed; it has everything you need. Plus, it was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so I got a great night's sleep. Downstairs, the public area is spacious, with free billiards and darts, and it's a lovely spot for an evening drink. The front desk staff were welcoming and check-in was quick. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Putrajaya.

8 mins walking distance from KLIA 2. Convenient for those who would like to catch early flight or arrival late. Unexpectedly the room quite spacious. But quite poor amenities, no toothbrush & toothpaste, no shower gel but soap is provided. 2 bottled water is provided.
Just for a short transit, don’t put on too much expectation

I stayed at Tune Hotel KLIA Aeropolis and found the experience to be quite mixed.
The room was extremely small, to the point where it was difficult to even open a 28-inch suitcase comfortably. Space is very limited, so it may not be suitable for travelers with large luggage or those staying for more than a short transit.
Another downside is the location. The hotel is quite far from the airport, which can be inconvenient if you’re expecting quick access. Although there is a shuttle bus available, it operates on a fixed schedule, so you need to plan your timing carefully to avoid missing it.
On the positive side, the hotel is relatively affordable and can be a practical option for a short layover if you don’t mind the tight space and distance. The room itself was clean, and the basic amenities were sufficient for a brief stay.
Overall, Tune Hotel KLIA Aeropolis is best suited for budget travelers on short transits who travel light and don’t mind working around the shuttle schedule.

I booked this hotel for a one-night layover because I had an early morning flight to Kuantan the next day. The hotel was quite comfortable; the room size was comparable to chain hotels back home. There's a pretty large swimming pool, and we enjoyed a nice swim there in the evening.
We left early in the morning as it's very close to the airport. The shuttle bus takes about 10 minutes and runs every two hours. We took the 5:20 PM shuttle, which departs from a white bus parked near (but not exactly at) Gate 3 on the ground floor of Terminal 1. You can look for it around that time. When checking in, just arrange your shuttle time for the next day with the hotel staff.
The shower / shampoo / conditioner dispensers were such a failure, room 910, and no shaver kit was in place. toilet door due to water from shower area splashing unto it , had mold forming at the bottom back end, rotting away in near future. Light switches were a little confusing, but the USB plug in sockets were such a joy to use. Breakfast was okay, pool level and gym level not the same, hence not as user-friendly as I tot (coming from experience at Danang Hilton). Lion dance at lobby was a bonus for guest and visitors. Generally a worth while stay, just please check out the dispensers if it is your concern, if deem pathetic then better change room. Chef came over to present a dessert made in-house using tomato and it was sublime indeed, simple yet full of favour.

Location: Unbeatable. It’s right inside the Gateway@klia2 mall (Level 2M). If you have an early flight or a long layover, this is the best choice. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the Departure Hall.
Room: I stayed in the Solo Plus Room for 6 hours. Even though it was compact and had no windows, it wajs incredibly clean, quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The rainfall shower was a highlight—perfect for refreshing after a flight.
Service: Check-in was fast and efficient. The staff understands that transit travelers are often tired and in a hurry.
Clean, quiet, cozy. Very suitable for a short stay.
However, not convenient for traveller who required luggage storage facility before time to check in and after check out.

MMohd NorhafizThe hotel is located near AEON Bukit Raja. The check-in process was very easy, the front office staff were very efficient, and a welcome drink was provided for every guest. The service from the bellboy was also excellent. The hotel room was spacious and very comfortable, and the bathroom was well equipped. I was very satisfied with my stay here and may return again in the future.

GGuest UserService was excellent!! Even though I was there way before check in time.. they expedite hotel room readiness and even msg me once room is available... Walking distance to I-City mall..
AAnonymous UserIt was the best decision ever to have staycation in this hotel. Good location within klang valley, water park with some water slides and huge pool to play around. Nxt to the sunway pyramid shopping mall which has lots of food and shopping. Only thing is slow and packed lift.

AAnonymous UserVery chill, cozy place
Suitable for those who are finding 'Peace' from thier busy life
Im ok that the location is far away from KL city in order to get this peacefulness
GGuest UserA worthy 5 Stars Hotel and it is actually more to resort. The distance from the lobby to my room (Block 3) is quite far but no issue to drag my bags since I'm using thier bellhop service.
Swimming pool is there, nothing much to comment just a standard swimming pool, not a toddler friendly.
No arcade, no kids playing room and no fancy slide at the swimming pool for kids. It is good for business traveller but not for families.
Service desk is tiptop.!
Thanks.!
GGuest UserDec 2025 rooms was much better then this time on feb 2026, overall is still ok, only point got to say is, when pillow even having a new sheet of pillow case but still smell, then e pillow opt to dispose, hotel should always have this cleaniess concept..
TTomHeeThe bad: on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, i went to eat breakfast at 8:20am. There was not much food left. I thought they will replenish. They didn't. The staff told me some 200 over had their breakfast and they finished the food. But I've paid for my breakfast during the booking.
Trip.com should seek a refund from the hotel
The good: the staff at the restaurant. She's very friendly and attentive. The chef at the egg station. He was kind and friendly to me. I've uploaded their pictures.
This hotel is very near to the MRT station. Don't follow Google to guide you to the hotel. When u step out of the mrt, the hotel is right in front of your. U don't need to make a big turn like the Google directed. Google is wrong!!
The breakfast for the 3 days are repetitive. So not worth.
The fried rice is surprisingly good.
JJust a casual travelerCheck-in process is fast and convenient. Rooms are clean and tidy. Probably it is still a pretty new hotel. Facilities are pretty standard with a pool and restaurant.
Except for the room setup. The doors to the toilet and shower opens out into the room with no room for the rug on the floor. So the floor outside of the shower will be slightly wet though it was not too bad.
TV channel options were not good. Local channels mostly. Not even Astro or Netflix. Or any cable TV. The window is facing the opposite residential building, very near. So the lack of privacy if you prefer to have the curtains open will be an issue.
The area surrounding the hotel lacks commercial shops as it is within industrial area. Will need to get transportation to go to nearby Subang or Shah Alam areas for food or shopping. This hotel is probably more suited to business travellers who are here to attend to business at the surrounding office and industrial buildings.
