GGuest UserReception staff was super friendly and very helpful a credit to the hotel. Room was clean with a lovely bed and warm powerful shower. Food served til 8.30pm which the food we had was lovely and would recommend, menu is rather small but they are good at accommodating e.g vegetarian however a little on the high price. I would say the bar is over priced for the stay however lovely open fire! The grounds are nice with a woodland behind. With a kids play area and a few added bits e.g giant chest set. Room was a little cold (room 25) with the heating in the room not working however a plug in was provided within the room and the hotel itâs self rather warm downstairs with working heating.
My biggest concern was the windows the bathroom window faces out to the staff carpark and the blinds old, dirty and not working with dam or water damage above the windows ( which i expected given the age and price of the room) The hotel has a little dungeon which we were allowed to go down which added to the castle stay! The hotel has certain bits of armed men and knights bits on display. I felt with a small investment in displaying the castles history and strengthen the knight theme the dungeon could be a little hidden gem
Ice cream parlour up the road on a working farm with kids play area, good selection of shops within 10 mins drive at a new retail park with cinema, plenty of restaurants, and supermarkets
Would stay here again
Overall would stay here again
HHaoyun WangThe size of the room is specious with sufficient space for storing luggage, and the floor is very clean and comfortable to walk on with bare feet, so feel free to leave your shoe by the door. As for the bed, it is very large and comfortable, providing you the high quality of sleeping without any problems. In the bathroom, it is not only very elegant and clean, but also provides unlimited hot water with satisfying water pressure from two types of shower heads. Moreover, there is a mini fridge placed in the lower closet near the wardrobe, feel free to drink the two bottles of spring water prepared by the host or store your own drinks or unfinished meals. In addition, there is a small safe above the fridge for depositing your valuables.
In terms of the amenities on the ground floor, there is a high-end restaurant serving traditional English breakfast (e.g. egg benedict) in the morning, and the taste is fine. However, I am not a big fan of their lunch or dinner when you can have better options in nearby restaurants. Furthermore, there is a small bar just outside the restaurant. The Gym, coffee room and reception are at the LG level, and you will receive a 10% discount in the coffee room after check-in.
The location is very close to the city center, train station and several main attractions such as the cathedral and castle.
Overall, I enjoy my two-day stay very much, the price of the hotel is very cost-effective in terms of the four-star standards, providing an unforgettable experience for both tourists and business travelers.
GGuest UserThe hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good and we were able to take our dog for a small additional fee. We will return.
WWinnie12345686I've stayed at this hotel many times, and I chose it again this visit. It's centrally located, making it convenient to get anywhere, and it's also close to the train station. The breakfast is excellent. The environment is clean, and the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. I'll definitely be back again.
GGuest UserGreat stay for my birthday! The Pin is fab with lots of activities to keep you busy. We upgraded the spa which was well worth the ÂŁ60 each (the sunny weather also made this a great experience). The room was a fab size (deluxe double) and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again.
GGuest UserAbsolutely great place to stay, steeped in history and a lovely room too. Booked as a single but had a very comfy double bed and private bathroom. Would stay again and recommend highly!
SShai HussainAmazing stay. The customer service was impeccable from the off, very clean, all the necessary amenities, and a super comfortable bed and pillow.
GGuest UserAbsolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. Decor is modern and appealing throughout. Staff are helpful. Lovely restaurant and fantastic coffee served there. The only slight issue I would say, is that you can hear guests in the next room very easily and this isnât desirable for obvious reasons. We sadly ended up with very noisy guests in the room next to us the first night we stayed and this caused considerable disruption to our sleep pretty much all night. Saying this, we didnât notify the staff though (so they may have been able to help) as there was no phone in the room. The next night was fine and completely silent so this would be dependent on who you have staying near you.
AAnonymous UserThe room was spacious and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the TV could be connected to a mobile phone for streaming, which was very convenient. The staff were friendly, professional, and provided excellent service throughout my stay.
GGuest UserFirst visit and it will not be last. Building is beautiful full of character. Sedgefield is a lovely village. However, the room we stayed in 416 needs soundproofing. When we went back to room on the night there was a loud constance noise like a furnace, on enquiring by staff I was advised room was next to kitchen its the extractor fans going. It did stop after evening service but was woken up early when they were put on again for breakfast and on constant till we checked out. On returning I will be requesting a room no where near kitchen.
