This accommodation was really great! It was super clean and cozy, and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days without any major inconveniences. JR Teradacho Station is a 3-minute walk away, there's a big 7-Eleven right across the street, and Lawson and FamilyMart are also nearby, which was convenient. I was a bit worried about how to contact someone if there were issues since it's self-check-in, but everything was so good that I didn't need to ask for anything, which is why I'm writing this review! There were times when motorbike noises were a bit loud at night, but it was relatively quiet. Plus, there's a local tonkatsu restaurant right next to the accommodation, which was the best. If I come to Osaka again, I will definitely revisit!^^

The hotel is not far from Namba Station. The staff provided good service, which was impressive. There's no front desk; you check in yourself, but it's not difficult. There are many amenities, such as a washing machine, kitchenware, an electric stove, and a refrigerator. The room is decorated in a Japanese style and is new and clean. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Compared to places back home, it's definitely on the smaller side, but for Japan, the size is actually quite acceptable. It wasn't as cramped or dated as I'd imagined. With the lights on, it felt quite cozy, and the window provided good natural light. My only minor gripes were the lack of complimentary water and that housekeeping only came every three days. On the plus side, there's a 7-Eleven nearby, which is super convenient, and it's also very close to Tenkachaya Station. The neighborhood is residential and felt very safe, completely unlike what some online comments suggest about the 'western district' being full of homeless people; even at 9 or 10 PM, there were no drunks or homeless individuals around. Luggage storage is under camera surveillance with no staff supervision, which initially made me a little worried, but my bags were perfectly safe after half a day. All in all, it's very affordable and offers excellent value for money. 🫶

I stayed at Katsu Hotel Shinimamiya for two nights (Feb 25-27) and overall, it was a very satisfying and high-value-for-money experience. The hotel's location in the Shinimamiya area is incredibly convenient; it's within walking distance to the station, making it easy to get to Namba, Shinsaibashi, or take the train to other attractions. For independent travelers, this location truly saves a lot of time and energy, and it felt safe returning to the hotel at night.
The check-in process was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and polite. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to find that they offered Chinese language service. For travelers who might occasionally worry about language barriers, being able to communicate in Chinese is a huge plus and made the overall check-in experience much smoother and more natural.
Although the room wasn't huge, the space was well-planned, leaving enough room to move around even with luggage open. The entire environment was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable; I slept very well both nights. The room amenities were complete, Wi-Fi was stable and fast, and the bathroom was kept very clean with ample hot water and stable water pressure – very important for travelers wanting a good hot shower after a long day of sightseeing. The soundproofing was also quite good, making for a quiet and peaceful night's rest.
The hotel offers free luggage storage, which is a thoughtful and helpful service. On check-out day, I had more plans, so being able to store my luggage and pick it up later in the evening made my itinerary much more flexible. The surrounding area also has excellent amenities, with convenience stores and dining options nearby, making it very easy to find food.
Overall, this is a reasonably priced hotel with an excellent location and friendly service. While it's not a luxury hotel, the quality for its price point is exceptional, especially suitable for independent travelers or short stays. Both nights were smooth and comfortable, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Osaka and would recommend it to friends.

The room was small but pretty clean.
The only downside was no bathtub, which felt a bit strange for a trip to Japan!
The soundproofing wasn't great – I could hear the subway and noises from the next room, so light sleepers should be aware.
However, the bed and pillows were really comfortable! The location was excellent, less than a 10-minute walk straight to the subway, and there's a large supermarket right across the street.

You can really feel the hotel's thoughtfulness here. It has a washing machine, kitchen, and balcony, and they even thoughtfully provided an umbrella and a weighing scale, which are very practical. It's close to the Midosuji Line, and even closer to Shin-Imamiya, making it super convenient for early morning flights – just a 3-minute walk.

The newly opened hotel was very clean and comfortable! The rooms were tidy and fully equipped, and there was even a washing machine in the room so I could do laundry anytime, which made me feel very secure. Although it's a self-service hotel, the check-in instructions I received via email beforehand indicated that there were staff at the counter, and the check-in process was very smooth. There was also a self-service coffee and tea bar in the lobby on the first floor, so I could drink as much as I wanted! I sent emails with any questions and received quick replies, which was reassuring. The location was also very convenient, right next to the Nipponbashi Shopping Street, making shopping very easy. There were convenience stores and restaurants nearby, perfect for sightseeing. Overall, it was great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Osaka!

The hotel's location is a bit out of the way, about a 1km walk from the JR station. However, the hotel facilities are really great – very clean and new. It's self-check-in, and there's enough space to open two 26-inch suitcases. There are also plenty of power outlets, and the bathroom is quite large with disposable toothbrushes provided. A 7-Eleven right next to the hotel is super convenient. The hotel also offers luggage storage. It's about a 1km walk to the outlet mall, but the scenery along the way is nice, so it feels like a pleasant stroll. I'm really satisfied with this hotel; I'll definitely stay longer next time. The main reason is it's quite affordable while still having excellent facilities, even if it is a bit off the beaten path, which I understand.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line (purple line), Miyakojima Station, but it might be a little far from the city center. If you don't mind, it's not a problem as the Osaka Metro connects everywhere.
The hotel has self-check-in and check-out, which is great – no need to talk to staff! 555
I recommend leaving before 10 am, otherwise you'll find the housekeeper trying to clean. I told them I'd be leaving in an hour, but they kept trying to clean (maybe because they didn't understand English).
In short, I left my towel, cup, and a note asking for extra green tea on the door. After that, the housekeeper didn't bother me anymore; they just hung my things on the door instead. It was a good introduction, great!
Overall, the price is good, it's clean, and the minimalist room is small, but fine. I was just there to sleep, so I left at 6 pm and came back at 11 pm – no big deal! 😘
I was too busy sightseeing to take any hotel review photos, sorry everyone!

GGuest UserOverall, the accommodation was very clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere. The location was excellent and very convenient. The room was quite spacious, making it perfect for staying with family or friends. I especially liked that there was a washing machine in the bathroom, and it even came with laundry detergent—everything we needed was provided.
Although the check-out time was 10:00 AM, we requested an extension and they kindly allowed us to stay until 12:00 PM free of charge, which we really appreciated. It was truly a great choice. The place was very cozy, and the bed was large and extremely comfortable.

GGuest UserThe room isn't too far from the subway, and the surroundings are very quiet. The hygiene is excellent, and the hotel staff are very friendly. They even let us check in early for free!
It's a great hotel, good value for money.

GGuest UserThe place was ok but had 2 big problems.
1) ‘check in’ is *******!! It asks you to check in before online .. I did this. It also asks for a passport picture which I don’t need because I’m resident.. It should ask that before it asks me for a passport photo..
i
But when you get to the hotel it asks you to do the same exact check- in process again!!! Why? very very stupid!!
It then asks for information about guest 2… I was a solo traveler… there is no second traveler!! But you can’t skip it or change it!! I had to enter my information twice… very very very stupid and inept..
2) the room smelled like mildew… very strong stench..

GGuest UserVery impressed: A Wonderful Stay – Exceeded Expectations!
We were very impressed with our stay at this hotel in Japan. Although it’s an unmanned, room-only hotel with self check-in starting at 4 PM, our experience went far beyond our expectations.
We arrived early with a large amount of luggage—five large suitcases and four smaller bags—and hoped to just drop them off before check-in. Fortunately, we met a hotel worker, who we believe was a housekeeper. She was incredibly kind and helpful. She immediately contacted a hotel staff member and kindly offered to take care of all our luggage, bringing it up to our room after it had been cleaned.
She also explained the self check-in procedures and how to access the building, which was very helpful since there are no staff members normally present. We didn’t expect that level of support at all—it was clearly not part of her job, but she helped us willingly and with such a great attitude. We’re very grateful for her kindness.
The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location was fantastic—close to various train lines (railway, subway, and local), duty-free shops, convenience stores, and many other attractions.
Highly recommended! We’d definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserFirst, the entrance code is 5895*. The booking site's email didn't contain the code, and the hotel's own email with the code only arrived on the evening of check-in, which caused a bit of hassle. Be aware that early entry isn't possible without the housekeeper present. The manager is on-site from 3 PM to 10 PM.
The location is excellent, just one subway stop from Namba via the Rapit line to Shin-Imamiya Station. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk. It's a pleasant stroll on a cool day, but I'd definitely advise against it in hot weather.
The manager was very kind. I appreciated having a washing machine with detergent and hangers. While there's no separate fabric softener, the detergent provided seems to be an all-in-one type. A microwave, coffee maker, and induction cooktop are provided, along with two complimentary bottles of water. All essential toiletries—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, and toothpaste—are fully provided. There's a convenience store right by the subway entrance and two large supermarkets nearby.
Overall, I was satisfied with everything except for the initial slightly tricky entry.
AAnonymous UserNice comfy and clean studio with all necessary amenities including washing/drying machine, ir cooker, table&cookwares, and a bluetooth speaker. Location is close namba nankai station and 5minutes away from metro namba station with unlimited food options nearby.
GGuest UserTop location for the price if you are planning Expo 2025 visits - the apartments is 10 mins walk from the station in a quite residential neighborhood and 3 stops away from Yumeshima station where the event is held. Nearby you can find both supermarkets and convenience stores as well as nice local restaurants and cafes, including a not so crowded Kura Sushi.
The apartment is tiny and not very convenient if you’re not used to confined spaces, but it’s still functional. The conditioner, washing machine, tv and other appliances were working properly. The bed however wasn’t very comfortable since the mattress was a bit outdated and sagging in the middle.
It is also worth keeping in mind that the walls are paper thin and you could hear basically everything your neighbors are doing. And the neighbors probably might hear you too if you are not quite enough.
Generally it is a typical low-budget Japanese apartment in a residential neighborhood, which might be a nice experience if you’re coming as a tourist and would like to experience a token of local lifestyle.
GGuest UserIt's about 10 minutes walk from Namba Station. Everything is fine, but there is no washbasin in the bathroom. To wash, I had to use the sink in the kitchen, so it was a bit uncomfortable because there was no mirror there. The next morning, the alarm rang in the building for a long time, which was very anxious and scary. I thought it was an earthquake Fortunately, it was a fire training, but it could be, so it would be nice to know.
