Because temperatures are hot all throughout the year, Taitung is also called the “homeland of the sun” and is full of sightseeing opportunities. Taitung's coastline is quite long, and at Sanxiantai you can see the Eight-Arch bridge that crosses the ocean and appreciate the geological formations at Xiaoyeliu caused by erosion. In recent years, there has also been an influx of eco-tourism activities like whale and dolphin watching.
