Tiananmen Square Reservation Instructions
The complimentary Tiananmen Square reservation does not include the flag raising and flag lowering periods. If you need to visit during these periods, please make your own reservation. The complimentary sessions are as follows:
- Morning session at the Forbidden City includes free reservation for the afternoon session at Tiananmen Square (12:00-16:00)
- The Forbidden City afternoon session comes with a free reservation for the Tiananmen Square morning session (06:00-12:00)
Visitor Booking Guidelines
1. ID Requirements for Entry
- Mainland Chinese citizens:
- Only valid ID cards accepted for ticket purchase and entry. Other documents are invalid.
- Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan residents:
- Must use:
- ▸ Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
- ▸ Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents
- ▸ Residence Permit for Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan Residents Passports are NOT accepted.
2. Child Ticket Policy
- Applicable to:
- Chinese citizens under 18 (including Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan residents).
- Foreign children:
- Must purchase adult tickets if holding foreign passports.
- ⚠️ Attention please:
- A price difference supplement of RMB 20 per person is required if booked as a Student ticket.
3. Time-Slot Admission Rules
(Effective from Nov.1, 2023)
- Morning session tickets:
- Latest entry by 12:00 noon.
- Afternoon session tickets:
- Entry permitted from 11:00 AM.
- Latest entry times:
- ▸ Off-season (Nov.1 - Mar.31): 15:30
- ▸ Peak season (Apr.1 - Oct.31): 16:00
4. Refund Policy //(Regarding the processing time for ticket refunds)
- April to October & Public holidays:
- Refund requests for orders placed between 18:00-23:00 will be processed within 24 hours.
- Other periods:
- All refunds processed within 1 hour.
