A beautiful hotel surrounded by magnificent gardens. We'd barely arrived when something unimaginable happened: a blackout on the Iberian Peninsula. The hotel managers responded in an exemplary manner: they provided information, provided everyone with a water bottle, and served cold meals and free grilled dishes in the restaurant in the evenings. The emergency generator also ran for a few hours. So, despite the uncertainty, we felt well looked after. Enjoying the sun by the beautiful pool area is also nothing to be sniffed at. The breakfast buffet was varied, including a good selection for vegans and vegetarians. We really enjoyed, among other things, the delicious, sweet fruit.

My room wasn't ready so I was given a free drink token. Unfortunately it was impossible to use as the bar where you could claim it was closed and they wouldn't let you use it anywhere else. Also the restaurant wasn't even half full and they wouldn't take walk ins. Very strange. Although the room was nice and clean and the pool area was nice. Quite hilly so not suitable for those whom can't climb lots of steps

Experience started badly at check-in when they refused to add my wife to the booking as Trip.com’s mobile  “deal” was for one guest in room.  Snarky reception person rude and borderline hostile - this was our third stay at this property and as in the past, we felt a subtle bias against us as non-Portuguese.  The Front Desk Manager got involved and he refused to comp. me my wife’s addition to our room and said we had to pay euros 40 for her two day’s breakfasts.  He appeared unkempt with s dirty shirt and was unshaven .  His attitude was aggressive and disrespectful in the extreme.  We asked to be relocated to a higher floor from the 2nd floor and he informed me that there were no sea view rooms on upper floors.  This was patently a lie as the initial receptionist told me that the hotel was not fully booked. While I was in discussions with the front desk receptionist, a hotel guest came up and complained that her room was bery hot.  She was told by the same snarky receptionist that the aircon was off due to a system changeover and she should open her balcony door! When I asked the same question later on to another receptionist, he said that they could give me a fan.  She was and English lady and when a Portuguese guest arrived to check/in, that dame clerk was all over him with handshakes all around.  Other staff around the property didn’t seem overly friendly to guests as well. It is unforgivable for any hotel, let alone a supposed 5 star property, not to have its HVAC system operable and even worse, not to advise guests of the issue. Our room was spacious, if a little warm, but showed the ravages of time with chipped furniture and surfaces.  Also, not too impressed by the powdered coffee presented in the room, or a euros 3 charged for a bucket of ice. I cannot recommend this property for a stay in Portimao and there are a few other more undated hotels nearby.

My experience was great, open pool, easy to park, in the summer it is worth the money, what I would change is the slightly uncomfortable pillow, average buffet breakfast, lacks a little more variety.

Very good Facilities: If you don't want to spend money on parking, you need to find a parking space nearby. The hotel's parking space is 15 euros a day, which is quite expensive Hygiene: OK, just average Environment: Very good near the beach. Service: The service is quite good

I liked the location, the very good room. It was to improve the warning that the reception is not in the hotel itself, but in the central hotel at 100m.

Check was fast, friendly and efficient. Room was very good. Large bed, safe balcony, very clean, tea and coffee making facilities in the room.Rituals toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with good choices in all areas. Pool looked clean but didn't use it. Dinner menu had a good selection of dishes but again did not use.

Booked this hotel for a weekend getaway with my partner and we had an excellent experience. The onsite facilities were top-notch, from the relaxing spa to the suites. We felt well taken care of throughout our stay. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast – it offered a wide variety of options, ensuring we had plenty of choices to start our day. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable escape.

Overall, the stay was fine. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. However, the air conditioner was extremely noisy, which made it difficult to sleep, and unfortunately there was also a strong smell of ********* coming from the neighboring rooms 🤢

Hotel is in perfect location within the historical site, the room is clean and comfy. Beautiful pool in the middle of the garden. Despite all ups, the downside was the service in general, however the reception was helpful when asked. Tips: Avoid staying the same floor as the reception because there is a staff room next to you, and the staff come to chitchat in the room and the hallway (the same hallway as guest doors, clearly echo). Beware of hot food running out from breakfast way earlier than closing time, you cannot request those eggs, bacons, mushroom if it's runs out. even there are many guests coming in and was no hot food. Like other comment says the hotel is full of potential and personally we think its a very peaceful & lovely place with historical charm. Just the frontline service staffs around the place still far from that so called well service. House keeping were friendly and helpful, gardening maintained well. Enjoyed the place and once learned to didnt expect any service, Its was the best way.

VVeRGiThe hotel is clearly very new, and that is immediately reflected in the quality of the structure. The property is beautiful, modern, and equipped with many facilities, which creates a very strong first impression. It is also in an excellent location. That said, the atmosphere often felt somewhat chaotic, and even simple requests seemed to be handled with unnecessary complication, as though each one required extensive discussion. We also found one member of the reception staff particularly rude, or at least that was our experience during our stay. Another issue concerned the windows: when it is windy, they produce a noticeable whistling noise, which can be quite annoying. It is also worth noting that parking is not included and costs €15 per day, which would have been useful to know in advance. Overall, the hotel has a great deal of potential because the property itself is impressive and the location is very good, but the service and some practical aspects still need improvement.

TTamelaNot my first time in Faro but chose this hotel for the rooms with balcony marina view. The hotel has a rich history and has been around since 1960s and its undergoing refurbishments in some areas. The old rooms look dated and could do with better cleaning as previous occupant’s hair was found in the bathroom. We loved the design & aesthetic looks of the new refurbished areas such as the spa, bathrooms, gym, pool & sauna but shame that there was a water leak in the indoor pool ceiling and rusty bits on the stainless steel railings. Considering it’s completed in Aug 2025, the hotel may need to do more due diligence to ensure the safety of guests. As a non Portuguese speaker, I felt that the check-in staff can make more efforts in being warm and welcoming. I noticed that this hotel is one of the few hotels ive been that check-in staffs are seated instead of standing, making the process somehow casual & less welcoming. I also called in to make a request for a late check out and received a hostile response by a lady who said ‘No. We need the room back’. We just got married the day before arriving & we are here to also celebrate my honeymoon & partner’s birthday. Weeks prior to arriving, I put in a request if the hotel could do a birthday special for him but this was not acknowledged. As an avid traveller who has stayed in many hotels around the world, I am a little dissapointed with the lack of personalised attentive service provided by the hotel. If the view & location isn’t a concern, I recommend the nearby 3HB hotel. We enjoyed our stay there. AP Eva senses have a great deal of potential, but they may be complacent at going beyond, as they are currently the only hotel at Faro marina. Additional employees like the elder gentleman pianist & hotel hairdresser were the warmest I’ve come across.

YYaoThe best four-star hotel, I will go to portimao again because of this hotel, there is a very comfortable balcony, there is a swimming pool upstairs, the hotel also has a free shuttle bus to the beach, there is also a spa but you need to book in advance, the breakfast is also very rich and fresh. There is also a well-equipped gym, everything is very complete. It is also very close to the starting point of the pier to take a boat to see the caves and dolphins, just 3 minutes away. Great!

GGuest UserFree breakfast was a treat! Our room had the discomfort of neighbors next door. They turned on the television and the snoring started after the tv was turned off, lasting for quite awhile. Annoying as we had to wake up rather early next day. The sound proofing of the room was not good at all, another neighbor hit the walls in the morning to make others be more quiet. We didn’t use any amenities, so no reviews possible. The location in Tavira is excellent, one can walk easily anywhere around without loosing lots of time!

AAmina TripBriteHotel is conveniently located in the centre of Faro with parking available if you're lucky! It is a 3 star hotel so you get what is expected. Somewhat budget friendly. The only negative is the cleanliness. The bathrooms could do with a deep clean to make the accommodation more welcoming to guests.

GGuest UserEverything was great, except for the lack of privacy in our room. It was connected to another room by a door that remained open throughout our entire stay, which obviously compromised both security and privacy. On our last afternoon, we had to share our room with the maintenance team as they tried to close the door. We complained, and the most they offered was to switch rooms. Repack all our luggage? No thanks. A disappointing experience for a 4-star hotel.
