The hotel's location is good. Although it's a bit old, it still has all the hardware facilities expected of a five-star hotel. Let me focus on the most unpleasant service experience this time. We booked a family room, which included three breakfasts. Our child had an upset stomach the night before and was throwing up and had diarrhea all night. So, in the morning, only the two adults went to eat, thinking of getting a takeaway box for the child. This is where the unpleasant experience began. The person in black, who seemed to be a supervisor at the restaurant, said that if we had already started dining, takeaway boxes wouldn't be provided (at this point, we thought we only had two breakfasts included). Later, after checking the order, we confirmed that the family room included three breakfasts. We went back to the restaurant reception to ask for a takeaway box, clarifying upfront that our room included three breakfasts and that we wanted to pack something because our child was unwell. Even then, the front desk staff said that after 6:30 AM, it's recommended to dine in, and takeaway boxes are generally not provided. She also claimed it was busy and she couldn't authorize it (even though there were no guests waiting at the front desk at that time) and that only the supervisor could approve it. I had to wait for her to call the supervisor over again before I finally got a takeaway box. Throughout this entire process, both of them had cold faces and showed absolutely no service意识 (service awareness). This definitely deserves a negative review!!!

The room layout is excellent, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast offers a wide variety, especially the bread, pastries, and cakes, which are plentiful and high-quality, tasting delicious. At the noodle bar, you can customize your dish with ingredients of your choice. They also serve Taiyuan-style noodles. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around. The security guard in the underground parking lot is very responsible; they even called to remind me when I forgot to close my car window! 👍

The room was very comfortable. Service: The room service was excellent. An auntie surnamed Cui and a young man (sorry, I forgot to check his name) who I believe are in charge of the executive floor, were very quick to respond. Late-night porridge: A bowl of millet porridge late at night is incredibly comforting for the stomach.

It's also about 1.1 km from the Nine Dragon Wall and West City Tower, easily reachable on foot. There are several popular restaurants nearby (including the hotel's Chinese restaurant), so you can grab a number, head back to your room, and wait comfortably without any stress. 2. The amenities are quite upscale, featuring a smart toilet, a humidifier, and good quality bath products. 3. The view is nice. Initially, I was given a room on the 3rd floor, which was next to restaurant private dining rooms and felt quite dim overall. After moving to a 4th-floor room, the whole atmosphere changed completely, and my mood instantly improved. Thumbs up for the hotel's service!

However, when we returned to the hotel around 8 PM, I saw ham and cold dishes in the executive lounge and asked a staff member why there were no serving spoons. The staff member said they were closing soon. After that, the dishes weren't cleared and were left out for a while without any utensils. The hotel booking clearly stated the executive lounge was open until 10 PM. Room: The executive twin room I booked was very spacious, equipped with a bathtub, and very clean. Turndown service was also provided when we returned to the room at night, which was a nice touch. However, shouldn't executive rooms come with a welcome fruit platter? Breakfast: Both Chinese and Western options are available, including freshly baked pastries and freshly made Chinese steamed buns, as well as local specialties like lamb offal soup and noodles. It was very rich and delicious.

The breakfast selection every day was incredibly rich, allowing us to sample all sorts of Datong's local specialties. The milk was excellent, and the master chef for the lamb offal soup was polite and even advised me to add some vinegar for better flavor. The aunt making the soft egg pancakes did a great job too. The room was spacious, and they specifically gave us a room with a view of the ancient city from the window, which offered a unique night view. We stayed for four days and later even enjoyed the hotel's complimentary simple night buffet. The dining options were especially suited for those with southern eating habits, featuring special egg drop soup and plain white rice. Fresh fruit was provided daily. The elders in my family remarked that the experience at this state-run hotel felt like stepping back in time. The meticulous service is truly ideal for travelers from all corners of the country. It was an unexpectedly wonderful experience, really quite good.

Its main advantage is its excellent location; it's very convenient for exploring, and you can easily pop back for a rest when you get tired. **Service:** The staff were very service-oriented. When we arrived, there weren't many guests, and the service was very attentive. **Breakfast:** It's not a buffet; it's a fixed-menu breakfast, like a 'nine-grid' style. It looks very appealing, and the taste is decent enough to fill you up. Overall, it's a good stay. Naturally, for this price point within the ancient city, you shouldn't compare it to hotels of the same price outside. It's incomparable, primarily due to its superb geographical advantage.

This hotel can’t do enough for you. They were helpful in arranging complimentary transport to and from each train station. They arranged a complimentary Pingyao show for us. They got us extra bedding and it included a Chinese breakfast. I just can’t believe the value for money. Confucius temple was just next door. They arranged an English speaking guide to take us around the city for a small charge and he arrived within the hour. He bought us all the access tickets we needed. This place is more than a hotel, it is warm friendly and can help you do anything you want.

The hotel was originally three old Qing Dynasty courtyards that were relocated, restored, and renovated. They offer guided tours, and the brick carvings and shadow walls of the academy have a strong sense of history, creating a rich historical atmosphere. The service was excellent; I experienced the business car airport pick-up, afternoon tea, and cocktails. I also tried the intangible cultural heritage woodblock New Year prints, which was a truly immersive way to experience local traditional culture – a rare treat! The game's silver notes could be exchanged for realistic replica silver notes, which was a pleasant surprise. In the evening, the old courtyard had a powerful ambiance, and I specifically got a makeover to take some amazing photos. Highly recommended, it was the highlight of my trip to Shanxi. The old Qing Dynasty kilns are now fully smart homes inside, making for a very comfortable stay. Ancient on the outside, luxurious on the inside, it truly provides an immersive experience of Jin merchant culture!

The front desk receptionist's smile was warm, and without a word, a cup of warm welcome tea was already in hand. Entering the guest room, the view immediately opened up. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was the dazzling city nightscape, and the interior decor was simple yet stylish. The bedding was pristine white and soft, as if clouds enveloped the body. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the marble countertop was polished like a mirror, and the amenities exuded a fresh herbal scent.
