Guest UserBefore checking into the Kempinski Hotel this time, I had some reservations, thinking it might be a bit old. But to my surprise, I was absolutely delighted after my stay! It truly validated other guests' reviews – a Ferrari, even when old, is still a Ferrari. The service staff were excellent, helping me with my luggage from the car all the way to placing it on the luggage rack! The front desk lady was patient and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, and the air conditioning was incredibly quiet and comfortable. I even discovered a garment steamer and a lint roller, which was such a thoughtful touch! They also granted a late checkout. Next time, Kempinski Hotel will definitely be my first choice!

Tracie WestMy stay at Wutong Apartments was wonderful! The room was clean, spacious, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. There is bathtub is luxurious and spacious, the shower has great pressure and the the separate toilet room has a motion censored toilet seat and a bidet. The bed was comfy and the closet space begs you to unpack your suitcase. There were thoughtful amenities, including a loofah cloth and shoe shine cloths. Now...the breakfast. It was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Tinder and well seasoned steak, salmon, soups, desserts, breads, scrumptious pancakes and a salad bar that even included kale amongst the varied greens. Best of all, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to Li Ne, the dining staff and the housekeeper who attended to my room. I wish that every hotel stay I experience in the future is as amazing as my time at Wutong Apartment Hotel.

Guest UserThe room was great, on the 21st floor, directly facing Yongtai Gate, offering a good view of the ancient city's layout. They also provided 4 bottles of high-quality spring water in the room. Breakfast was rich, including Cantonese options. On the day we left, we asked the front desk for a late check-out until 3 PM, and they agreed. Even though it's an older five-star hotel, it still maintains its quality. Very good. And it's convenient to get to the ancient city.

1. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Shanhua Temple, Huayan Temple, Chunyang Palace, and the Fobuban flagship store. It's also about 1.1 km from the Nine Dragon Wall and West City Tower, easily reachable on foot. There are several popular restaurants nearby (including the hotel's Chinese restaurant), so you can grab a number, head back to your room, and wait comfortably without any stress.
2. The amenities are quite upscale, featuring a smart toilet, a humidifier, and good quality bath products.
3. The view is nice. Initially, I was given a room on the 3rd floor, which was next to restaurant private dining rooms and felt quite dim overall. After moving to a 4th-floor room, the whole atmosphere changed completely, and my mood instantly improved. Thumbs up for the hotel's service!

ZiyiwawaWhen traveling to Taiyuan, the JW Marriott Maoye in the city center is definitely the best accommodation choice.
📍Perfect Location: Situated in the Maoye Tiandi commercial area on QinXian North Street, you'll find bubble tea, formal dining, and cinemas right downstairs. It's within walking distance to the subway station, a 15-minute drive to Taiyuan South Station, and a 20-minute drive directly to Wusu Airport. Getting to Zhonglou Street and Jinci by car is also very smooth, so you don't need to take detours for dining, entertainment, or sightseeing.
🛏Room Amenities: The hotel is on higher floors, offering panoramic curved floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city streets. Even the basic room type starts at 43 sqm, so it never feels cramped. The entire room features a modern, light luxury wooden design, equipped with electric curtains, smart toilets, and Hansgrohe showers. The British Aromatherapy Associates toiletries have a sophisticated scent, and the mattress firmness is just right, allowing you to relax after a long day of touring.
🍳Dining is the biggest highlight! The breakfast on the second floor is a collection of Shanxi specialties, featuring rare Taiyuan 'tou nao', lamb shaomai, 'cat's ear' noodles, and freshly stir-fried 'dao xiao' noodles – all hard to find in other hotels. Western pastries, cold cuts, fresh fruits, and freshly ground coffee offer a rich variety. You can try all the authentic local flavors loved by locals in one go. The executive lounge on the 21st floor is spacious, offering a three-tiered dessert afternoon tea and hot dishes and freshly cooked noodles during evening happy hour, making it easy to have a simple meal.
The heated swimming pool is bright and clean, and the 24-hour gym is well-equipped, suitable for both business travelers and family vacations. The front desk service is gentle and efficient, Marriott members get generous room upgrades, and requests are responded to promptly.
Minor drawbacks: Rooms on lower floors have average views, and street-facing rooms occasionally have traffic noise. You can request a higher-floor room not facing the street when checking in. The executive lounge doesn't offer high-end sparkling wines, and the desserts are just average.
Overall, among the five-star hotels in Taiyuan city center, this hotel stands out for its comprehensive strengths and is highly recommended for both business trips and family tourism.

feng_jianThis was my first time in Datong, and I have no regrets about my choice. As Datong's renowned five-star hotel, everything was perfect, except for the slightly outdated facilities and lack of smart technology. The service was exceptional, and the breakfast was plentiful. A pleasant surprise was the bathhouse on the fifth floor, which was great for unwinding after a long day. Fresh fruit was provided daily, and the mini-fridge had complimentary drinks. My two daughters absolutely loved the LOFT room type, and the soundproofing was excellent. The hotel's Chinese restaurant was also fantastic, with delicious food at reasonable prices – a great option for dinner when returning to the hotel feeling tired. The location is also superb, within walking distance of the Ancient City, Parkson, and Xingmao Hui. While I might try other hotels next time, Yungang Jianguo Hotel has left a deep impression on me. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Guest UserLet me elaborate.
**Courtyard Design:** Very beautiful, many scenic spots within the ancient city are decorated in a similar style.
**Room Amenities:** Given the prime location, the room isn't large, perhaps around 15 square meters. It has all the essentials and is very clean. The mattress was comfortable. Of course, it can't compare to high-end or luxury hotels. Its main advantage is its excellent location; it's very convenient for exploring, and you can easily pop back for a rest when you get tired.
**Service:** The staff were very service-oriented. When we arrived, there weren't many guests, and the service was very attentive.
**Breakfast:** It's not a buffet; it's a fixed-menu breakfast, like a 'nine-grid' style. It looks very appealing, and the taste is decent enough to fill you up.
Overall, it's a good stay. Naturally, for this price point within the ancient city, you shouldn't compare it to hotels of the same price outside. It's incomparable, primarily due to its superb geographical advantage.

ZliLocated right next to the Confucius Temple, it's incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient city. The rooms have a traditional decor and are very warm. The hotel grounds are really spacious. We arrived late at night, but it was so easy because we'd messaged the hotel on WeChat beforehand to arrange a complimentary business shuttle pick-up from the high-speed rail station. Their service is excellent and proactive. Since it was the off-season, they even upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was fantastic value for money. With traditional kang beds, old-fashioned door locks, and a classic courtyard, it's perfect for guests who want to experience traditional culture.

Guest UserMy most delightful surprise when visiting Linfen was staying at the Ancient City Courtyard Museum Hotel. It's not a replica of ancient buildings, but rather three authentic Ming and Qing dynasty courtyards that have been relocated and restored, making it a living museum you can actually stay in. I spent four days and three nights here, truly slowing down to absorb the unique and profound atmosphere of the Pingyang region.
The courtyards feature bluestone slabs, old wooden beams, and brick-carved screen walls, with every detail revealing traces of time. Beneath its ancient exterior, the interior is incredibly comfortable, with all modern amenities. The bedding and toiletries are of high quality, and the ancient courtyards offer excellent soundproofing, ensuring a quiet and serene environment, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The butler service is meticulous and thoughtful, and they patiently explain the history behind the courtyards.
By day, I explored ancient architectural treasures like Guangcheng Temple, Xiaoxitian, and Fotou Temple, searching for national heritage sites in Southern Shanxi, admiring murals and ancient sculptures, and feeling the awe-inspiring ancient civilization. By night, I returned to this grand courtyard, stepping into a gentle and tranquil past. If you're visiting Linfen to explore historical sites, this hotel is highly recommended. It truly elevates the travel experience, and I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Linfen.

ReaishenghuodehaolaolaoOverall, the hotel is excellent. The room was clean with no unpleasant odors, and the bedding was neat and tidy. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the restaurant was clean and bright. However, the bathroom only had half a roll of toilet paper. I asked the cleaning lady for another roll, but she said she didn't have any. I found that quite odd. Additionally, the front desk told me there would be eight bottles of water in the room, but there were actually only two in the room and two in the fridge. Given the hot weather, that wasn't nearly enough for me. My husband also asked the cleaning lady for toilet paper, and she also said she didn't have any. In the end, we had to buy a pack of tissues outside, which was very inconvenient. We were already tired and just wanted to rest. During our trip to Yuncheng, we saw the loess hills, which were beautiful for us southerners.
