This is by far the best value five-star hotel in Taiyuan. The management is well-organized, and the hygiene is consistently excellent, making you feel right at home. Both the facilities and services are well-maintained. The surrounding area offers a complete range of commercial amenities and convenient transportation, with a subway entrance right next to the hotel. Tianmei and Beimei New World shopping centers are just next door. Overall, it's great value for money. The only minor drawback is that it's an older hotel and could use a full renovation. Given that Shanxi is a strong tourist province, a refurbishment would certainly justify a price increase.

I stayed at Wutong Apartment Hotel for a business trip, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and cozy, and the facilities were well-equipped. The cleaning staff were also very welcoming. What's particularly worth recommending is their breakfast, which truly lives up to its reputation as a 'breakfast ceiling' online. Having traveled to many cities, I can confidently say their breakfast surpasses the standards of five-star hotels in first-tier cities. The quality of the steak and salmon, as well as the cooking, were excellent. Various Chinese stir-fries tasted as good as those ordered à la carte in restaurants, and there was a wide array of local delicacies. The lamb soup with aged tofu was a perfect combination. And the desserts, oh the desserts, were outstanding! The ingredients were high-quality, and both their appearance and taste were superb – highly recommended. The only minor drawback was the average service. The rather short restaurant manager had an incredibly loud voice, like a lady shouting in a wet market, constantly directing staff loudly, which unfortunately lowered the hotel's overall ambiance. Despite that, it's still highly recommended overall!

An exceptional hotel! Great location near the Datong City Wall with easy transportation. Rooms are clean, affordable, and come with very soft pillows and blankets. I was deeply touched by the housekeeping staff who left me a lovely note daily and even gave me balloons. This is by far the most impressive stay I've ever had. Breakfast was huge and delicious, and the restaurant is beautiful. I will absolutely stay here again on my next visit!

Garden Hotel holds a special place in the hearts of Datong locals; every taxi driver I met spoke highly of it. The location is excellent, right within the ancient city, making it convenient to get anywhere. I had two meals at the hotel, and the quality was very good. On my last day, I tried a popular, queue-inducing restaurant near the ancient city gate, but it honestly wasn't as good as the food at the Garden Hotel. The breakfast selection was limited, but the quality was decent. My room had a smart toilet, but the shower stall was too small. The soundproofing could also be a bit better. On my first day, after a lot of walking, my ingrown toenail flared up. A male staff member at the hotel's recreation center quickly fixed it for me, and by the next day, it didn't hurt at all! 👍 Overall, after a three-day stay, I am very satisfied with Garden Hotel.

The hotel's location is great, close to the old city with several good restaurants nearby. There's also a large shopping mall about a 6-7 minute walk away. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding and towels are of good quality. The highlight is definitely the night view of the old city from the window. The service is very attentive; they respond promptly to all requests. The breakfast is rich and delicious. They offer a 24-hour bath center and laundry service. If your clothes don't dry in time, you can even leave them with the staff, and they'll fold them for you to pick up later – a very thoughtful service. It would be even more perfect if the bathroom had an extra stool for placing items.

Located right next to the Confucius Temple, it's incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient city. The rooms have a traditional decor and are very warm. The hotel grounds are really spacious. We arrived late at night, but it was so easy because we'd messaged the hotel on WeChat beforehand to arrange a complimentary business shuttle pick-up from the high-speed rail station. Their service is excellent and proactive. Since it was the off-season, they even upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was fantastic value for money. With traditional kang beds, old-fashioned door locks, and a classic courtyard, it's perfect for guests who want to experience traditional culture.

If you're traveling to Linfen, Shanxi, I genuinely recommend Gu Cheng Da Yuan. It's not a hotel in the usual sense; it's more like staying in a living piece of history. The moment you push open the heavy wooden door, the city's hustle and bustle are shut out. It's a genuine old house, not some 'faux-ancient' style. 🛏️ The stay was more comfortable than I expected. The room was spacious, antique in style, but not at all dark. ✔ Underfloor heating + central air conditioning throughout, so no fear of the cold in winter. ✔ Turn on the projector and binge-watching shows in bed at night was incredibly satisfying 📽️. ✔ Welcome fruit, tea, coffee, cocktails 🍹, and afternoon tea 🫖 were all prepared. ✔ 24-hour butler service, always responsive. ✔ Takeout can be delivered directly to the room – super friendly for lazy people. 🥟 The attention to detail was a real bonus. On the Winter Solstice, I actually got to eat dumplings handmade by the hotel, and I suddenly felt 'cared for'. The breakfast menu changes daily, so you don't get tired of it. 💆♀️ This was a truly relaxing, 'lie-flat' vacation. This time, I also tried the newly introduced sound bowl healing at the hotel, which made me so relaxed I didn't want to talk throughout the session. Even if I didn't leave all day, just soaking up the sun, reading, and daydreaming in the courtyard felt completely worth it. 📸 Every corner is picture-perfect.
