My recent stay with you from September 7 - 11 was nothing short of extraordinary. While the five-star rating is a given, I wanted to write a more personal review to highlight exactly what made our time so memorable.
Lily at the Front Desk: Her warm welcome set the tone for our entire vacation.
The Housekeeping Team: They are absolute artists of their craft. Our room was not just cleaned, but thoughtfully tidied and restocked twice daily.
You have created something truly special. The resort provides the perfect stage, but your staff are the stars of the show. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We left not just relaxed and rejuvenated, but genuinely happy.
The room was absolutely satisfying – quite spacious with a large and comfortable double bed. The sea view from the balcony was excellent. The ground floor (G level) houses the restaurant, while what Trip.com calls the 'first floor' rooms (standard sea view rooms) are actually on the second floor. Deluxe sea view rooms, which are slightly more expensive, are on the third floor and above. The hotel guests are a mix of Europeans/Americans and Chinese. The front desk staff spoke English and I experienced no discrimination whatsoever. Some reviews mentioned that higher floors were given to Westerners, but perhaps they just booked a second-floor room to begin with. Actually, the second-floor rooms are also beautiful, perfectly level with the palm trees. Because Trip.com noted my booking as a 'first floor' room (which is actually the second floor, as the actual first floor is the 'G' level with only the restaurant and front desk, no rooms), I specifically requested a deluxe sea view room on a higher floor than the first, and I was given a room on the fifth floor with an amazing view. When arriving by speedboat, a dedicated staff member was there to pick us up. Although it was only about 200 meters, the hotel still used a golf cart for us and a three-wheeled vehicle for our luggage, delivering everything directly to our room after check-in. When departing, the front desk booked our speedboat tickets for us. The front desk manager personally saw us off to the golf cart and politely asked about our stay experience. The staff carried our luggage all the way to the boat. The service was truly superb.
On our first day, we went out to sea, and I left my underwear on the bed since I was wearing my swimsuit. When we returned, the room had been cleaned, and my pajamas and underwear were neatly folded and arranged on the bed. Because the room attendant was male, my daughter and I felt a bit embarrassed. For the following days, we put up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, and after returning in the afternoon, we only requested fresh towels and water refills. The staff would still often ask if we needed our room cleaned – the service was truly outstanding.
The ground floor breakfast area has plenty of seating, and breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, which is perfect for not delaying our excursions. There's a wide variety of food, including egg pancakes and corn pancakes that cater to Chinese tastes. I didn't pre-book dinner, but there was a good selection, costing $20 per person, and cash payment was accepted. There are many island excursions available, offering plenty of deep-sea experiences and photo opportunities. All in all, my experience at Kaani Hotel on Maafushi Island was fantastic, and I highly recommend it.
Our vacation at Grand Park has come to an end, and I'd love to share my thoughts 🌴.
First off, this was our first time in the Maldives, and we were absolutely thrilled.
We stayed in two types of villas: lagoon and ocean water. They are completely identical and face each other.
The lagoon villa has a huge advantage: it's practically wind-free. All the ocean breeze is absorbed by the ocean villas. The lagoon side offers sunset views, while the ocean villa offers sunrise views.
The ocean villas definitely have a better view; from the lagoon, you can see several islands, including the neighboring Hilton.
The rooms are very clean and were serviced twice a day. Linens were changed upon request, towels were fresh, and all necessities were provided: slippers, a beach bag, and umbrellas.
Upon arrival, we immediately picked up masks, snorkels, and fins for the entire duration of our stay (these are complimentary). By the way, the watersports equipment rental manager speaks Russian and was very helpful and friendly.
We brought water shoes with us but never used them. We always snorkeled with fins, and when we just swam from the villa, we couldn't even reach the bottom. They might be useful if you enjoy beach holidays and swimming from the shore, as the ocean entry there is indeed full of corals and shells, but we're just not fans of sand and didn't even go there.
The reef is excellent; not quite the Philippines, of course, but there was still plenty to see. On the very first day, we spotted an eagle ray swimming right next to us – this was on the reef near the watersports rental, which I highly recommend for snorkeling as it's far less crowded than the reef near the villas.
We wanted to go on an excursion to see nurse sharks, but a 'white flag' (meaning strong winds) was declared for all the days of our stay, so all excursions and even jet skis were canceled.
We were very happy with the food. Breakfasts were quite varied, only lacking in meat (cold cuts or sausages; only pork options were available). We mostly had lunch in our villa, and it was delivered quickly. Dinner was also diverse; you definitely won't go hungry.
All the staff were incredibly friendly, very open and responsive. Everyone smiled and greeted us, and the main phrase of our trip to the Maldives was “enjoy,” which we heard constantly 🥰 and we certainly did!
The only excursion we managed to do was swimming on the floating platform, which we highly recommend. We took the package for $129, which included 4 cocktails + 3 snacks. We expected something like canapés, but they brought out full-sized dishes! It even ended up being cheaper than our usual dinner 😂. We ate our fill and enjoyed a beautiful sunset, and the photos there are amazing! You can stay there as long as you like, there’s no time limit. We recommend going at sunset around 4:30 PM or even 5:00 PM when the sun has already set to avoid the heat.
The hotel is stunning, with very well-maintained grounds. The beach was constantly being cleaned, things were being trimmed, transported, and repaired – they were busy working all day long! There are many lizards on the property, and the Maldivian heron was also frequently seen))
The vacation was 10/10, the hotel was 10/10 – simply a perfect paradise! 🩵🌴
We left feeling incredibly grateful ✨
We reached the island very quickly by boat; planes arriving in Male can be seen from the beach or the restaurant. The room is modest, with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and tea making facilities. Water is provided in reusable bottles. The staff is attentive. Water activities are available in good weather.
This oceanfront hotel was a fantastic experience. The rooms offered expansive views, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the sea – absolutely stunning for watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. The hotel was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The service was warm and attentive, check-in was quick, and the beach was right downstairs. It was very convenient for getting around. The gentle sea breeze and the sound of the waves created a truly relaxing vacation atmosphere. It was great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
Would you like me to give you a more poetic/concise 100-word version?
A hotel with high European standards of service and a pleasant staff. It's located right next to the pier where sharks and rays swim up in the evenings. Since I didn't feel like eating much in the morning, the staff packed me a breakfast in a lunchbox. It's a shame I only stayed there for one day.
The hotel exceeded all expectations. It's an incredibly beautiful, lush, and authentic island, without feeling overly polished or brand new. It felt like being on a deserted island, yet everything was clean, and details like lighting were perfectly highlighted. The nature felt untouched.
The ocean was stunningly beautiful. The turquoise water stretched for dozens of meters from the shore (but remember to bring water shoes!).
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. You didn't even have to ask for anything; they proactively offered everything. Towels were changed twice a day, and they constantly checked if we needed anything like water or coffee. The service was so good that you often don't find this level of attentiveness even in much higher-category hotels.
Breakfasts were fantastic, with everything you could need: pastries, hash browns, made-to-order omelets, eggs, waffles, and pancakes. There was always a wide selection of fruits – watermelon, papaya, two types of melon, pineapple, passion fruit, bananas, and oranges. Breakfast was truly complete.
Dinners were a little less impressive, but that's just my personal preference; I'm not a big fan of everything being in sauces. However, I could always find something to eat.
It was my friend's birthday, and at dinner, we were given a specially decorated table, the entire staff congratulated him, and there was a cake with candles. While we were enjoying dinner, our room was decorated with birthday greetings. I was impressed by how well thought out and coordinated their actions were.
We also received a free upgrade to a water villa. We spent 4 days in a beach bungalow, room 301, and then 3 days in a water villa, room 506. There's a separate restaurant for the villas, which we were also able to visit and did. That was a very pleasant bonus. Thank you. Our vacation was unforgettable, and we will definitely return.
This is simply an incredible hotel for the price.
I rented a guesthouse for one day, and a girl met us upon arrival and checked us in. She then said we were on a tour and would be leaving the next day the same way. She responded, ”That's not possible; you'll only be leaving with our port (costing $250).” I said that was too expensive, since the Maafushi-to-airport transfer is $15, to which she replied, ”That's just their policy.” Then she said, ”You have to pay an extra $110 to check in.” What's wrong? I freaked out and said I wasn't staying overnight and would be leaving that very day with the tour guides. The tour runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we left without looking back. It feels like that's how the staff makes money! But the place is wonderful, very beautiful, expensive, and luxurious. It's worth a visit. Just let them know before you book that you want to leave on your own, because others charge $30 for a single transfer.
Our stay at Villa Nautica was absolutely amazing from start to finish. It was our first time in the Maldives and everything exceeded expectations. The weather was perfect every day, and the island itself was stunning with crystal-clear water, white sand, and a peaceful atmosphere.
The staff were the highlight of our stay. Everyone greeted us so warmly and made us feel truly cared for. Dewi and Eyman at the restaurant offered seven-star service — incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional. Yang, our island host, was also outstanding, always making sure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. Every team member we met, from the spa to the water sports center, was kind and helpful.
We stayed in a two-bedroom water villa, which was spacious, luxurious, and had the most beautiful view of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of the waves each morning felt like a dream. We also went kayaking, which was an unforgettable experience in the clear turquoise lagoon.
The food, service, and atmosphere across the resort were all fantastic. The spa treatments were relaxing and of very high quality. Every part of our stay felt peaceful and well cared for.
Villa Nautica delivered the perfect Maldives experience. It was the right balance of comfort, beauty, and hospitality, and we would return in a heartbeat.
The room wasn't large, but it could comfortably accommodate two adults and one child. Cleanliness was acceptable. Breakfast wasn't extensive, but thankfully, fruit and staple foods were available. Lunch and dinner were sometimes buffets and sometimes à la carte sets; the taste was decent, and prices were generally around $10. However, the food options were somewhat limited, so it's advisable to bring your own instant noodles and snacks. Local supermarkets sell instant noodles for around $1-$3 a cup, and Coke for $2 a can. The hotel is very close to the beach, and the water was quite clear, although it was a bit rough on the feet when swimming. There were many patches of black seaweed in the water. There were many mosquitoes and flies on the island, both at the hotel and on the beach, so be sure to bring mosquito repellent and sunscreen. The local islanders were generally very kind and friendly, and the hotel staff were also very welcoming and provided excellent service. Overall, I was satisfied.

GGuest UserThis beach villa boasts a vibrant, large-scale contrasting garden theme, featuring purple paired with yellow. The entrance greets you with a romantic purple garden archway. Inside, the room is adorned with vintage wooden airplane artwork. The pool's mosaic tiles gradient from purple to green. What's truly captivating is that the large lagoon under the wooden bridge connecting SAii and the neighboring Hard Rock island is home to schools of fish whose scales shimmer with the same purple and green gradient as the pool. It's incredibly beautiful, making you marvel at the existence of such stunning marine life. Seeing this pool instantly makes you feel like it's a mermaid's exclusive swimming spot. Swimming in it is pure bliss – a truly ingenious design. It sparkles magnificently both under the sun and at night.
There's also another small courtyard where you can shower under swaying coconut trees, enjoying the play of sunlight during the day or moonlight at night, or simply relax in a hammock. A truly delightful island experience.
After booking, Nishnatha Jayawardena, the Cluster Reservations Supervisor from the reservations department, enthusiastically communicated with me multiple times in detail about the various arrival transport arrangements. All the transportation and timing were very well-planned and reasonable. The reception staff, shuttle drivers, and those responsible for housekeeping, luggage delivery, and finally, departure transport, were all very conscientious and responsible. Everyone on the island seemed joyful, and there was a wide array of activities. There were also many restaurants and multiple public pool areas, each with its own unique design. Upon departure, there was a dedicated lounge for waiting, and the staff even raised flags and waved goodbye to guests as they left the island.

AAnnalisaKFrom start to finish our experience at the Oblu Sangeli was incredible. It was our first time visiting the Maldives and it was everything we could have wished for and more. We stayed in the water villa and it did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and the access to the lagoon was amazing. It was great for snorkelling and had plenty of corals where we saw baby sharks, manta rays and lots of colourful fish! We embarked on the turtle snorkelling trip and saw many turtles which was wonderful!
The buffet was great and we appreciated that they changed the dishes every day so you had a variety to choose from. A huge thanks to Chef Rahul who not only made excellent Indian food for us, but also became a good friend and was always so kind to us. Another big thanks to the waiter, Yathrib, who was so friendly and attentive to us and gave excellent service. This really made our experience even better. We also really enjoyed the fine dining experiences included in the Serenity plan. Both restaurants (just grill & just wok) served delicious food and a nice view of the sunset. A highlight for us was the pool as it was right next to the ocean and the view was incredible. We loved the slide leading into the ocean, that was a vey unique touch for the hotel and lots of fun at the pool party too and recommend you throw a pool party a couple times a week as it was great!
We really enjoyed the live entertainment in the evenings and especially loved listening to Dee & Jay singing so beautifully!
A highlight for us was definitely the excellent service from the staff. From the first day we could see that they were genuinely nice people and took pride in their job. A special shout out to the Sangs bar staff who were always kind and friendly to us. They made our experience better by just being genuinely nice people and their service was excellent! A big thanks to Pradeep and Lahiru who lead the team and always greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home. A huge thanks to Ibrahim and Madheeh who made us laugh everyday and gave brilliant service. You made our experience even better by just meeting you all. We will definitely return to the hotel in the future as it was the best holiday we've ever had! The Maldives is really paradise on earth! Don't think twice about booking to stay at this hotel because it's perfect!
ZZimifeelingI was lucky enough to be assigned to Arena Veli in Building 4 of the Arena complex, which is the fourth building from the sunset direction, and it was even a corner balcony unit with a 90-degree view – absolutely stunning! The welcome drink was a delicious mixed berry juice. Breakfast was also tasty with a good variety of options.
The service experience during my stay was very good. The $6 environmental tax per person per night is mandatory, and there's also a $25 per person per trip speedboat transfer fee. However, the in-room facilities and cleanliness were really concerning, not even up to the standard of a 3-star hotel back home.
GGuest UserOur stay at this hotel was marred by a series of unfortunate experiences, starting from the moment we arrived. We were wrongly informed at check-in that our room had not been paid for, despite having completed full payment in advance. Rather than verifying the system, the staff member sat by as I anxiously searched my phone for proof. Ultimately, I had to show my credit card statement — something I consider private — just to resolve the matter. Her attitude was unwelcoming, which is especially disappointing in a hospitality setting. After discovering the payment had indeed been made, she gave only a brief and indifferent apology. Following this, my husband contacted the Manager, who offered a complimentary buffet dinner for two as an apology. While we appreciated the gesture, it was overshadowed by another issue: we later received a letter requesting us to check out by 7 a.m. the next day, even though our original arrangement was for a noon departure. After another call to the Manager, he once again apologised and offered a spa session for one person. Though his crisis management was swift, these issues should not have occurred — especially given the premium price we paid for our stay.
That said, there were redeeming aspects. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking. The room opened directly onto the beach — it felt as though we had arrived at the sea the moment we opened our door. The room was also clean and well-maintained and we appreciated the convenience of having a coffee machine available.
In summary, while the scenery and room amenities were wonderful, the service and communication left much to be desired. We hope the management addresses these shortcomings so that future guests can enjoy a truly seamless stay.
GGuest UserThe water house we stayed in had a swimming pool. The room was big and there was a beautiful sea view on the balcony. From the moment we left the airport, the guy who picked us up, the guy on the speedboat, and the guy who sent us off really provided excellent service. When we arrived at the hotel pier, the management staff led the service staff to warmly welcome us on the island. When we left, they waved goodbye at the pier until they disappeared into the vast ocean... My English is not good, but I met Bonan, a girl from Baoji, China, on the island. She enthusiastically and proactively provided us with high-quality service, introduced us to information about the island, took our orders, booked boats, and delivered things to our room over and over again on hot days. When the room cleaner didn't clean for us, change towels, take out the trash, or deliver mineral water, she personally went to the room to serve us... I don't know why the room cleaner didn't serve us. I turned over the sign for room cleaning twice, but found it was turned back when I returned to the room. The room was still not cleaned. I don't know if I didn't tip the night I came. I didn't have change that day, so I went to the front desk to change change after dinner. However, there was no room service from the second to the third night. It was not until I told Bonan that the bathroom trash can was full and the mineral water was finished that Bonan came to the bathroom to watch over it, and then they started cleaning. I chose this hotel because they have a high score of 4.9. To be honest, all the services and details of the hotel are very good, but the behavior of the room boy really makes me feel that he is holding the hotel back and letting the chain down. I hope the hotel will strengthen its management so that all tourists who come to the beautiful Baros Island can return happily...
GGuest UserAwesome place to visit. The best thing about the stay was the water villa with jacuzzi and instant access to amazing snorkeling. Rajan our house attendant was a particular highlight, he always had a big smile on his face and went above and beyond to make our stay special and really succeeded, if you read this Rajan, thank you very much for your excellent hospitality, you made our stay very enjoyable!
Only feedback I would give is to reduce the number of notifications sent by the app, it was a bit excessive. Also, due to the sky high prices of even simple activities, we opted to gave all of them a pass. A night snorkeling excursion asking for something like USD90 and then also charging USD15 for torch rental feels a little silly. You cannot go night snorkeling without a torch.
Otherwise, we were really happy with the stay.
