**Absolutely fabulous gem of a hotel – we’re already planning our return!** I’m almost reluctant to sing its praises too loudly in case we can’t get a reservation next time, but I simply cannot recommend The Ocean highly enough. This place is an absolute standout. From the moment you arrive, the service is exceptional. The team is warm, highly attentive, and genuinely approachable – every single member made us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. They anticipated our needs before we even asked, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast was superb, with a wonderful selection to suit every taste and waistline. What really elevated it was the full table service – a lovely, touch that made the whole experience feel special and relaxed. The hotel restaurant is an absolute must. After scouting every other option in the area, we ended up eating there both nights of our stay because it was, without question, the best find around. The menu offers a fantastic selection, everything is cooked fresh to order, and every dish we tried was outstanding. The portions are generous yet perfectly judged – so much so that we sadly couldn’t squeeze in a dessert, though the menu looked every bit as tempting as the mains. The hotel itself has been decorated with real taste and care throughout. Our room was stunning – fresh, modern, and incredibly welcoming, while still feeling cosy and homely. It’s such a refreshing change from the usual tired, tacky seafront offerings; the team has clearly poured heart and soul into creating somewhere that feels both stylish and genuinely comforting. Overall, The Ocean is a superb find – one of those rare places that ticks every box and leaves you smiling from check-in to check-out. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. The hotel is a short walk from the railway and within easy access to the Cathedral and city centre. I stayed there for 2 nights. In the 1st night, the bathroom light was out of order as there was no one in the hotel to take care of it. Nothing was done in the following morning, and the only thing to be done is to change the room in the afternoon. The hotel looks tired and needs some touching up, yet the rooms are spacious, functional and clean, and the bed is comfortable. There is an issue with dampness in walls though it is not too serious. If you look for a budget place to sleep at night, this is the place for you.

A Perfect Day at The Bedingfeld Arms! What a truly wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, The Bedingfeld Arms delivered exactly what we were hoping for—and more. Nestled in a charming location, it felt like a gentle escape into the countryside, with just the right mix of warmth and ease. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. We lingered over our meal, not wanting it to end! The rooms were just what we needed: cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. It was so lovely to wake up refreshed and step out into such a peaceful setting. While some might wish for a slightly more “posh” or traditional pub feel—Tom did miss the classic old-world touches like dark walnut floors and the scent of oak smoke in the air—we both appreciated the light, airy ambiance and modern comfort. It’s clear The Bedingfeld Arms has found its own style, and it’s working beautifully. Altogether, it was a delightful, cheerful, and refreshing day, and we’re so glad we chose to spend it here. Everything from check-in to departure was perfect . The room was spotless with a big comfortable bed . We used the spa and pool which was all extremely clean with very polite staff at reception . This is our 3rd visit here and each time we’ve been very impressed Breakfast was very pleasant as were all staff .Vast selection of food and beverages for all dietary requirements . We enjoyed the full English breakfast that was cooked to perfection followed by some fresh pineapple / watermelon . We’ve stayed here a couple of times when we fly to UK and will continue to enjoy a weekend break here in the future .

A very warm welcome from Mike who manages the establishment. Our room was called Treasure of the Broads. It was beautifully decorated, a huge modern bathroom with rain shower over the top of it. We had a meal in the evening and although we hadn’t booked prior to arrival and they were fully booked Mike had no issue with finding us a table with a great view of the Broads. We would definitely return again in the future. The atmosphere of the pub is relaxed but very professional. Credit to the Chef. A wedding was taking place on the day we arrived but this didn’t cause us any noise related issues and we enjoyed watching from afar! All staff and Mike couldn’t do enough for us and we were offered a late departure which we kindly accepted. A shame we couldn’t have stayed longer but a good excuse to return! Very clean - the single bed exceeded expectations. Shower room a little way away was a little bit weird. Otherwise, friendly helpful staff and decent clean accommodation.

Booked for one night to go to the football at Carrie road which is about 15min walk from hotel town centre is about 20min walk, it is easy to get to from the station just a short walk, arrived and some other guests let me in at first as the manager was not there, he arrived a few minutes later and quickly booked quests in, very easy process he showed me were I was staying as staying the other side of hotel, told me if I had any problems to ring the number on the paper stuck to the back of the door, and if I wanted to use the WiFi the code was also there. Room was small but had a shower toilet and sink as well as a hairdryer and clothes rack. There was also a kettle with tea and coffee facilities. Overall place was clean and tidy I stayed in the top part at the front it was a pleasant stay.

Communal toilets were clean, the hotel was warm but due to not being able to adjust the heating in the room ( house rules ) it was unbearably hot so we had to have the window open - no consideration from the staff at the restaurant next to the hotel as they were loudly throwing things into the bins just below our room at 12am. Therefore my partner had extremely broken sleep, did not feel rested and was exhausted the next day, but good value for what it is and likely better for solo business travelling as the hotel can supply earplugs. Rang the number for the hotel as advised before checking in, called three times but no answer so had to ring the doorbell twice before being let in, staff seemed unhappy to be answering the door and slightly unwelcoming ( this was at only 5pm )

Modern hotel with a welcoming lobby and big reception area. Situated next to the Norwich City football stadium and some rooms overlook the pitch which is fun for football fans ! There is a big retail park across the road and it’s approx 10 minutes walk to restaurants, pubs overlooking the river and then just a few minutes further onto the main rail station . Rooms equipped with large beds and useful amenities which include hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities , iron and ironing board . Nice big modern room and our bathroom had a bath aswell as a shower . We had dinner in the restaurant but unfortunately the food wasn’t a high standard compared to the rest of the hotel . The staff were helpful though over this aspect .

It’s a bit isolated, making it less convenient for those relying on public transport.
