Motels in Tasmania, Australia

I've been to Australia three times, but this was my first trip to Tasmania. I traveled solo, taking a 2.5-hour drive from Hobart to Launceston in the north. I stayed at this Best Western Plus for two nights, and my overall experience was very good. **Cleanliness:** Very clean, and housekeeping cleans daily. If you're staying multiple nights and don't need cleaning the next day, you can hang the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on your doorknob, and they'll give you an 8 AUD meal voucher for breakfast at the restaurant. **Facilities:** Standardized beds and a bathroom. The room was spacious, very comfortable for one person. The bathroom had bath towels, regular towels, and hand towels. Laundry supplies were also provided. The minibar offered free tea bags and instant coffee. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were in the room, with additional bottles costing 4 AUD each. The parking lot 🅿️ was quite large. **Service:** Breakfast was a continental breakfast, including bread, butter, jam, milk, and oatmeal.

The motel itself is actually not bad. Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be worse. But the rooms are fresh and clean. It lacks air conditioning though. It was cold at night and hot during the day. Also, a suggestion for the owners – it would be great to have at least a microwave downstairs. Sometimes you just want to heat something up for a quick bite, but... And there can be issues with parking spots. There aren't many spaces available. It's first-come, first-served.

This is a very good place and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery place. Quiet, clean and well equipped. Staff members are very helpful & friendly. Highly recommended!

Second stay at Nightcap Riverside. Price point was my main motivation, I paid $130 for the night. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, well equiped, well heated .Renovated. Bed was very comfortable, black out blinds good. Hotel internet signal strong and good speeds. Location is about 5 kms north of the CBD, need a car.  a 20 minute drive from the airport. Meals at the Riverside Tavern next door typical pub meals, large servings and reasonable quality. A small convenience store just across the road, a Woolworths supermarket about a 3 minute drive away. Some noise from the highway nearby, but quiet during the night. Fair bit of noise early ( circa 6 am on ) as early morning workers driving past, and quite a few “ tradies “ stay at Nightcap Riverside and start early. Didn’t bother me as I rise early also, but don’t expect a sleep in.  Overall, very good value for the price point.

Not bad hotel. But there were no tea bags, no milk. Cutlery looks extremely poor. All was from different set, some from hiking set. Also a lot of dust on the bathroom lights. To fix these problems will cost almost nothing, but it will improve the impression. And the final problem is parking. If you return late, there will be no parking place for you.

The location was so close to Port Arthur Historic Site. We had an early night after having dinner there as they have a bar and restaurant on site. Dinner was good, service was great. Food came within 30 to 45 minutes wait time. We needed to use the laundry service onsite, and the cost of 4 x $1 coin to operate washer and same price for tumble dryer. There was not enough site parking near our room so we had to go right to the end and park at overflow parking. Internet wifi was available but very slow. The shower was a very tight space with a shower curtain enclosure. Toiletries like hair shampoo, soap bar, body wash and conditioner were supplied. Beds and towels were all clean and up to standards. Great for a one night stay for family.

Located by the river, the room has complete and comfortable bedding, the kitchen has complete tableware, the bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, and there is a washing machine. The cutest thing is that wild ducks come to the door to say hello in the morning, so cute

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Hotel. The suite is just perfect for me, hubby and sister. The room is spacious and clean. The counter staff were helpful and responsive. Love.the happy hour! The bartender was sweet to let us sample the different types of beers. The restaurant service was fast and the food was hearty and yummy. If you have plans to join a day tour, Best Western is one of the pick-up point otherwise the walking to the St Brooke Pier is just 10 mins away. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes around the hotel.

No signage at entrance/driveway Stained towels and bath mat  Not overly clean bathroom  Very out dated,but in saying that very cheap  We stayed for an early flight next morning,so it done the job if you are just looking for a quick stay

Clean and well-maintained, with everything you need. The hot water supply was excellent, and the lady were patient, friendly, and welcoming. The experience exceeded our expectations, making for a very comfortable and great-value stay—thank you! We did hear the parrots whistling past several times like an F1 car in the middle of the night, and initially thought the soundproofing was just okay. However, in the morning we realized that a window behind the curtains had been left slightly open for ventilation, so it wasn’t really a problem. We were also impressed with the room’s heating—sleeping warm and cozy even on frosty mornings, when our car’s windshield was covered in ice.
