Experience in Oku-Nikko Onsen
Oku-Nikko is a common name, referring to the undeveloped area near the Kinsei Ridge from the Nikko Mountains in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. Generally speaking, it refers to the area from the west foot of the Nikko Mountains above the Ryuzu Falls to the east foot of the Kinsei Ridge, and narrowly refers to the address of 'Oku-Nikko' in the national forest land in this area. It may also include the shores of Lake Chuzenji, or the west foot of the Kinsei Ridge in Katashina Village, Tone District, Gunma Prefecture, which borders Nikko City.
Yumoto Onsen is a quiet hot spring town located deep in the battlefield, on the north shore of Lake Yuno, the source of Yuno River.
It is said to be the inner hall of Nikko, famous for its sulfur springs, said to have been discovered by Shodo Shonin, the founder of Nikko, about 1200 years ago, and said to have a special effect on neuralgia and rheumatism.
This is a leisure hot spring resort surrounded by rich nature, so we recommend you to go hiking in summer or autumn, skiing in winter, while soaking in the hot spring and enjoying the view of the mountains outside the steam and Lake Yuno, relax.
There is also a free foot bath 'Annoy no Yu' (rest in winter) in the hot spring street, as well as facilities and inns where you can enjoy a day trip to the hot spring.
You can easily enjoy the richly effective hot springs, please refer to the 'related materials' for details.
