I had a great stay at this hotel. The location is excellent — very convenient and easy to access. There are many popular food chains and restaurants nearby, so finding something to eat was never a problem.
The hotel is definitely worth the money. The price matches the quality, and overall it offers great value for what you pay.
I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a well-located and reasonably priced place to stay.
”My early check-in was handled smoothly by the lobby staff, who were consistently cheerful and helpful. Having stayed here five times, I can confidently say the service is superb. A major highlight is the breakfast, which I find exceptional because of the delicious local food options. Furthermore, the staff makes arranging Grab taxis very convenient. I consider this, overall, to be the best hotel experience in Yangon.”

A beautifully preserved colonial-style hotel right in the heart of the city. From the moment you step inside, you feel as though you’ve travelled back in time. The hotel exudes class, charm, and understated elegance. There is so much more that could be said, but some experiences are best felt rather than described. Seeing truly is believing—go ahead, book a room, and enjoy a memorable stay
Free airport shuttle service: The service was excellent, and the hotel is very close to the airport.
Facilities: Very new, modern, and not outdated at all.
They upgraded my room for free, which was a thoughtful touch. It faced away from the road, so it wasn't noisy.

I wanted to stay for a long time, so I stayed at 3 this time. The head of the shower attached to the bathtub is so gravy that it can be taken now, and it is taken when it is used, and it is told the next morning to sightseeing. He was fixing it when he returned from sightseeing, and there was an apology message on the desk.
Breakfast was an order system from the menu, but when I told him that I wanted to eat fruit, he was willing to prepare it. The honey on the yogurt was very delicious and I took a picture of the package. I searched at the supermarket in Yangon and Mandalay, but I couldn't find it, and when I emailed where I could buy it later, there was no reply after I received a reply to confirm it with the charge. After all, with the cooperation of local friends, I had a honey company deliver it to the hotel where I was staying. On the day of moving to Mandalay, check-out was before 4 o'clock, but they prepared a box, including tuna sandwiches, boiled *, fruit platter, bread, and latte. It was the most luxurious breakfast box I have ever been to Myanmar. Thank you very much.

Pros: The hotel has a European style, the staff is helpful, everything is new and clean, and the mattress, bedding, and towels are excellent. It's located in the city center. Cons: No water in the room, tiny rooms, windows don't open, and a meager à la carte breakfast in the cafe on the first floor. Because of the downsides, I'll choose a different hotel next time.

BBruce MWould stay again. Great location, close to area famous landmark by walking distance. Room need sound proof due to noise from street and near by park especially on morning. Also room key needed to be updated. Like old style bulk key chain back in the 80's . Great breakfast buffet and enjoy it. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Overall, very pleased with stay.

GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon
The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon.
Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements.
Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era.
What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.
JJC SYHotel Room are nice and clean, however the elevator smells like someone was smoking. I booked for 2 person, however, during breakfast, I was approached to be inform that my companion is not registered and not entitled for the breakfast, eventually, front desk settled the issue.
GGuest UserBefore to visit Myanmar I read many reviews and they told that staff at reception can help to book tickets for bus. In this hotel only one girl spoke English when I was checking in but when I come and ask to help me with bus ticket booking nobody could help. The people who were on reception had very poor English. I spent half of the day to buy ticket.
And location is a bit far from center. I recommend to book this brand hotel in Chinatown.
