My First stay at Protea Krugersdorp was a nightmare . We checked in effortlessly, but didn’t appreciate the fact that the hotel does not have a Porter Trolley to help carry our Bags from the Carpark. We stayed in room 215, (1st Floor on Right hand side) unfortunately we checked in Late (20:50 or so) we were too tired to even ask for a Room change. The room was not Nice. The Bathroom is So old their shower had soap scum Stains. Towels were Old & Discolored, one even had pinkish stains on it. Their toilet water Doesn’t have pressure so Doing a number 2 was a Nightmare For me (was sharing room with a colleague) I had to Flush 8 Times for it to Clear (Yes I Counted!) & lord Behold! At around 12am the Bathroom started giving the room a Sewerage Smell the Fridge in that Room is so old & filthy. I would Rather they ddnt even Put it in the room because WOW! It’s so Disappointing because our Travel agent told us this was the Best hotel in town. If this is the Best they have to offer , I would rather stay in Potchefstroom next time .

We checked in after 8pm trusting the brand. and opting for it as opposed to 4 star Guesthouses in the area.Having spent the whole day assisting my daughter settle at university,,tired as we were we wanted to watch South Africa 3rd place playoffs in the comfort of our room.The TV in the room wasn’t working, we reported it they came to check and still didn’t work.We were told to go watch it downstairs.We booked and paid for our room and comforts and convenience that comes with it and not for common spaces on this important night for avid soccer fanatics.To think we were torn between going back home and stay over but we chose the latter only to get this.

I was not happy with the quality of the bed, the toilet & bathtub in our room were leaking water. The linen was washed but but had spots, I am not sure if it was not properly washed. I was very disappointed with the game drive. we really did not see a lot of animals. Lastly, I did not enjoy the lamb shank, the quality was not great. Other than that I was happy with the spa treatment and the bar service, the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast.
