Rest Chinatown Hotel

Rest Chinatown Hotel – A Great Family Stay ❤️❤️❤️
We recently stayed at Rest Chinatown Hotel with my family, and it was a good experience overall. Here's what I think might help other families: ☺️
Location: 📍
The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Chinatown. It’s close to the MRT station, which made getting around the city super easy for us. There are plenty of restaurants and food stalls nearby, offering a variety of options for all ages. We also enjoyed exploring the vibrant Chinatown streets right outside the hotel.
Rooms: 🛏️
The rooms were clean and well-maintained, though they were on the smaller side. As a family, it was a bit tight with our luggage, but the comfortable beds and good air conditioning made up for it. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest packing light for more space.
Amenities: ‼️
The hotel offers basic amenities like toiletries, a kettle, and fast Wi-Fi, which was helpful for planning our family outings. While there’s no breakfast service, we didn’t mind because there are so many food options just steps away.
Staff: 👤
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They gave us tips on family-friendly attractions and helped us with directions. They even stored our luggage after check-out, which allowed us to explore a bit more before leaving.
Overall Experience 💯:
Rest Chinatown Hotel is a good choice for families looking for an affordable and convenient stay. The location is excellent, and while the rooms are compact, they are clean and comfortable. It’s perfect for families who plan to spend most of their time exploring the city.
I’d recommend this hotel for its value, location, and friendly service! ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic location; close to the MRT station, opp the hawker centre and lots of fancy cafes and eateries all around. Hotel was new, clean and sleek and I booked a private room for 4 pax with my family. My 8 year old son had a great time watching Netflix on the big TV in his capsule! Every detail was well thought of; right from the fuss free check in processes, to the cool co sharing common spaces and totally love the handy bag provided for your shower necessities. Will definitely visit again!

Mary, Maica, and Carms were excellent team that help me in everything that I requested, thanks to all of them. The room was quiet at night even it is in China Town. Plenty good restaurants, near to two SMRT stations, ”China town” and ”Maxwell”, The cleans of the room was amazing and in the same floor you can wash and dry your clothes free or charge. The cooking stuff enough to cook a regular meal. Decent Internet speed. Easy check in and out. quick to revert the deposit to my credit card. Overall wonderful stay

The Inn at Temple Street (Chinatown)

This accomodation does not meet the minimum standards, if your after a culture shock this is for you My partner booked the accommodation the place is an absolute dive on arrival the previous guests towels were still in the bathroom, the shower head was broken. Eventually we were moved to another room. 1. the entire complex smells of moisture 2. bed mattress uncomfortable has exceeded lifespan. 3. Bed sheets seams split, fabric thin and faded. 4. Pillows flat no durability. 5. the photos supplied are exaggerated eg the paint was peeling, floors filthy - decorative pillows not present these photos do not represent the current condition. 6. Iron cord unsafe electrical wiring exposed tied into knots and taped up- unsafe. After enduring 2 nights we left early for our next destination. After reviewing other travellers comments the owner has failed to address any complaints is met with the standard response ”Your feedback is important to us and we are working on it” Travellers do not receive value for money, overcharged for what is best described as hostel conditions at minimum.

Heritage Collection on Pagoda - Mobile App Check-In
Chinatown Singapore | 0.09km from Chinatown
Pro: 1. Excellent location in the Chinatown right next to the MRT station. Maxwell station is close by as well. Close to a lot of restaurants and shops. Two hawker markets within minutes walk. 2. Exceptional soundproofing. No noise even in the middle of all these shops. 3. Small but well organized and functional room with full kitchenette. 4. Good bed and shower. Con: 1. The app was not user friendly and not providing good instructions. The digital key was a hit or miss. However, staffs were excellent to respond. Also they actual gave you a room key card which was very helpful. 2. The room was small and the air conditioner blow directly onto the bed and was very uncomfortable to sleep and I needed to block the airflow with some clothes. They should install an air flow diverter. This alone cut the rating from 5 to 4 stars. 3. The bathroom door was transparent so may not be good for some guests. A blind or curtain will be good. Other: The bed of the deluxe studio has only one side to get on so not convenient if you have two people. But since I know this before I book so not a ”con”.

Cube Family Boutique Capsule Hotel @ Chinatown
Chinatown Singapore | 0.1km from Chinatown
Stayed 2 nights in January 2024 family of 4. DO NOT STAY HERE! We booked a room for 6 people (even though we were a family of 4) so that we could have more room to spread out and for our luggage. When we checked in, we got a room with 4 beds (2 queens, 2 twins). Clearly this didn't solve the issue of needing more space to spread out. Reception informed me that the room was adequate for 6 people and they were fully booked so I could not get any room. The room was TINY. The family room we had booked DID NOT resemble the photos on the website at all. Its was much smaller, tighter, no room to walk, pass each other, no room to store luggage, totally claustrophobic, very dark (not light like the photos), only one outlet worked to charge all of our devices (and there are over a dozen outlets in our room). You cannot sleep and charge at the same time because the desk (on the wall of the bed) needs to be open to access the chargers and you cannot sleep with the desk open over your head. The sink was the same size as my hand. Water went everywhere and there is no counter space for toiletries. There is NOWHERE comfortable to go outside of the room and sit. The 'kitchenette' they offer in the common space has hard metal barstools, not soft, comfortable chairs for guests to sit. There is NO lift/elevator so be ready to lift all your luggage up several flights of stairs with no help. There is A/C in the room but if you are in the corner of one of the beds, the air does not circulate and gets very hot. I do not recommend this place, not even a little.

A very nice, quiet place located in the heart of Chinatown, with the MRT right at its door steps making travelling accessible and splendid. The rooms are perfect for budget travellers, very clean. The bathroom is quite small but always clean. There's even a little outdoor patio however it's quite hot outside. It's a go to spot for budget travellers.

We went to singapore for short escape, originally i was really amazed with this neat and modern country. Despite some people that we meet on the street was not really nice, but the ladies who in charge in the hotel were different things. Both of them are having smiley faces and willing to provide you with any information, especially ms.ayu who didn't mind to be bothered in the late evening after her working hours and have to help us with the password on the enterance door which we totaly forget. For the budget tourist, this is very recomended hostel, it was clean, walkong distance to public transportation and located in the china street you would never starving and broke 😄😄

Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel @ Smith Street
Chinatown Singapore | 0.12km from Chinatown
The cube capsule was very good value for money, considering how expensive Singapore is. We had a double capsule in a large mixed dorm, however the capsules create fantastic privacy and it didn't feel like a shared space at all. The capsules were well maintained and neat and had everything we needed. Mirror, plug etc. Shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly and were great. Location is brilliant, right in Chinatown and very close to the MRT. I would definitely stay here again. Only criticism is that the capsules and bathrooms can get verrrrrrry hot. One night, my partner couldn't sleep all night as the AC just didn't seem to be effecting our capsule. We notified the staff about this the next day and they gave us a fan for our capsule. Which was fantastic. Not great if you need silence for sleeping. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I like how there's a fan and aircon in the room. Switch off the aircon and on the fan, it really gives us like home vibes.
Lyf Farrer Park is an amazing property. Bustling with life and very lively. Good for long stay. The ground floor lobby has a gym, laundromat, working bay and a hep coffee and beer joint. Fourth floor is cooking bay and an area to laze around with open gym, garden and play zone for kids. Rooms are smartly done with modern interiors.

This capsule hotel budget-wise is recommendable. The location is great and 5 minutes away from the metro station. I have taken the mixed capsule. I did not expect much because of the price but I stuttered with disappointment when I was there. I availed myself of a stay with free breakfast for 5 days and in these 5 days, never I had tried and seen any food. What I saw are leftovers kept uncleaned. I usually wake up at 5-6 am because I have a conference by 7 am. By that time, no food on the counter. The toilets were furthermore small and crowded. No social distancing or infection control practices. The spaces are cluttered, unkempt, and unmaintained. I have raised the issue to an Agoda representative who told me that I should have the breakfast inclusion. Still, the next day, no breakfast was there. I planned to talk to the reception but most of the time, staff are not present there.
Please read - IMPORTANT about Campbell Inn: My 3 tourist friends from overseas have encountered potential scamming of tourists at this Campbell Inn. They have lodged a police report and contact Singapore Tourism Board and CASE in regards to this case. Hope by doing so, it will prevent the owner of Campbell Inn from cheating other tourists and disgracing Singapore as a safe country again. My 3 friends were ignorant of the various Google negative reviews of Campbell Inn and booked two nights with the Inn. However it seems that they have been scammed. It was their first visit to Singapore and she emailed and they tried to call the Inn several times without getting a proper response from the Inn. They wanted to inform the Inn about the late timing that they would be reaching the Inn. However as the Inn was uncontactable for a proper response, the 3 tourists decided to check-in physically at the premises. The Inn was obviously unsafe as it was occupied by alot of migrant workers in the premises and look more like a illegal foreign worker dormitory. The 3 tourists were initially informed by the receptionist that their room were given to other workers and were even asked to stay together with the male workers in the same room. They realized that these workers were wearing scantily (only sarongs) in the room and some of them appears to be drunk. The 3 tourists refused and left the Inn immediately feeling the whole situation was not right and unsafe. However they were left stranded on the streets in the middle of the night. My friends credit card was deducted for the nights which they did not stay in the Inn. They believed that the Inn management have planned this scam in such a manner that they can easily cheat the tourists who did not know the actual ground situation of the Inn. Also suspect several of these workers may be overstayers without legal work permits as they seems to be staying there for a long time. The Inn is definitely not a safe place for tourists to stay in. The practice of this Inn not only causes distress to the overseas visitors but also shame us Singaporeans which our country projected a very safe reputation to visitors from all over the world. The matter has been reported to relevant Singapore authorities.
I just had a problem checking in as the self check in is not working. But the customer service is very attentive and accommodating. She guided me all the way and been a very big help. I also encountered a toilet bowl with stain, the previous user did not clean it. But the rest is clean. They do not serve food so I was given a voucher as my booking has food inclusion.
I stayed here in early December 2022 for a few nights. In general, this hostel is very conveniently located. It is only 4-minute walk from the Downtown Line MRT station. It is the same station that has the closest ATMs. The hostel requires you to pay your balance using cash. If you want to pay by card, there is an additional 3% charge and you'd have to walk to their sister hostel to use their card machine. The sister site is on another street but they claim it's just a 5-minute walk. Also, if you want to print anything or use a microwave, you'd have to walk across the street to the Chic Hostel to do so since this one doesn't have it. There is a fridge but no microwave. The good thing is that they do your laundry, within the same day if you tell them to, for $12. The dorms on the 4th floor did not have a lock on the door so it didn't feel secure from anyone else who may decide to wonder up there. They did have a key card for the individual lockers though. There's only one outlet by your bed so I'd recommend getting an adapter with multiple USB ports or something. The 4th and 3rd floors share a 2-stall shower and toilet combo which was a tight squeeze and a bit moldy, which probably cannot be helped with such humid climates. Only bodywash was available in the showers. Each toilet come with its own handheld bidet. I just wished that the restrooms had paper towels to dry your hands. I did like that each bed had its own TV with Netflix and headphones (even though I never used it). The A/C runs all night which is great. I also liked that eac bed has their owne privacy curtains as well as their own drying rack and clothes hangers.
In curtin Singapore Reading, very close to the new site of the school, 15 minutes by bus, and close to Jin Wentai, the hotel provides continental breakfast from Monday to Friday, although the variety is very limited, but the breakfast is enough for nutrition, especially the ham is delicious, the hotel apartment room is what I see Singapore Hotel is comparison Big, there is a kitchen where you can cook kitchen utensils and tableware. The washing machine with dryer is very convenient. There are also food courts nearby, but there is a pasta restaurant downstairs in the hotel that tastes very good, and it is also very close to west coast park It is very suitable for running. house keeping is done on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It won’t be too disturbing to rest. Overall, this apartment is very good, very quiet and suitable for living. If you don’t like noisy, it’s also very difficult to book.
Mondrian has been nothing short of amazing. Friendliest staff and not to mention the amazing reception we've gotten from Lina from Christina and Maran from Carna made us felt so welcomed.
The room's decor is also pretty chic and modern, would look forward to a next visit for sure!
Wonderful new hotel in the heart of Chinatown. A 5-minute walk from the metro line leading to the airport. Stylish, modern, carefully renovated in a historical building. In the morning - freshly brewed coffee and orange juice as a compliment.

New store, the first all-girls youth hostel
I stayed for one night. I have never stayed like this before.
Clean. The girls at the front desk are very nice to talk to. The bathroom facilities are good.
The only problem is that the nearby bar is very annoying and very loud in the middle of the night.
You can bring your own earplugs, they are also available in the store.
It gets very quiet around 2 o'clock
Not far from the Merlion, you can go shopping at night
Overall, it’s a good deal to live here in Singapore.
