I stayed here for 5 days and was very comfortable. I had a solo room with a great mountain view, it was an absolute joy to wake up to. Breakfast is included and they serve the creamiest cappucino I have ever tasted, seriously, its insanely good. They also serve a delicious, rich and moist slice of cake, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and some more of the basics for breakfast. There's a fee if you want to have your eggs fried or scrambled. The mattress was of a great firmness and I got an extra pillow on request. If you need an adapter for your laptop, they have this for you as well. If you want to bring some groceries in there's a fridge you can use downstairs. I'd say the only thing that really bothered me was not being able to make tea in my room. I missed having a kettle, instead I'd have to go downstairs to ask for a cup of tea, that got charged to my total bill at the end of my stay. Besides that, all the staff was incredibly friendly, especially the breakfast staff. The village this villa is located in is also very friendly and quite pretty. There's enough places to walk or hike to for some stunning views, nature and rock collecting. I got a very warm welcome in San Fedele and definitely would recommend anyone to visit. The locals are kind and fun-loving. For solo travelers who don't speak Italian very well it can be a bit intimidating to go out since all nightlife is accumulated in one street and they don't speak a lot of English, but seriously, just go and try your best. Wish people a nice day or evening in Italian, and Google Translate your way through it. There's some people who speak English but generally, just try so you're not being rude. On the day of my birthday, the local flower shop owner came by in the morning and picked and handed me a bunch of beautiful flowers (without knowing it's my birthday). It was a great moment, really made me happy. She was incredibly nice. Her truffle dog is pictured, don't try to pet him lol. On the last day I happened to see her again and got handed some amazingly fragrant flowers, again 🥰

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

On the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.

Stayed here for 2 nights, for the price the room is great, comfortable bed, spacious and clean. Bathroom is fine, the shower is quite small so bear this in mind. Breakfast was great, lots of sweet options like pastries, tarts etc. Location was 5 minutes or less from the train station so very convenient and 5-10 mins from the ticket place to get the ferry to Bellagio. Overall the hotel was perfect for what wanted and great value for the price.

Good hostel, near a supermarket and convenient location with the railway station. A bit overshadowed that my room was on the first floor with a window to the courtyard, it was pretty noisy even with earplugs ... And a rather modest breakfast compared to hostels for the same price. But the friendliness of the staff and convenient location sweetened these inconveniences.

We came for a relaxing and unique experience on our last day of holidays and got the exact opposite. This place lacks hospitality. The staff and management don't know how to handle situations and they make mistakes and omit information. They will try to overcharge you for many things. The quality is substandard. When we arrived we asked for room service but were told they are very busy and so this will take more than an hour and that to make it easier we should come to the restaurant instead. So we do and when we get there the waiter tells us arrogantly that for this time they will allow us to order something from the room service menu - as if they were doing us a favour. Then the spa - you can only use the spa 4 hours consecutively (this is omitted from their website). When I received the confirmation of my booking and they sent a message specifying that this needed to be consecutively, we asked if it was possible to do 2 hours one day and 2 hours the next but were straight away declined. We thought about getting massages but they only do it in the afternoon so they said they could do it during our 4 hour spa time or the next day in the afternoon. As we had only booked for one night we said we would think about it and possibly pay extra to pay for the spa the next day so that we could get the massages. However, when we entered the spa, that's when they decided to tell us that they have closed their sauna and hammam for COVID reasons so only the pools are open. When you point it out to them, they say that in the website, it is written ”following the Italian decree” but the decree says you can keep open sauna and hammam as long as you do it under reservation and you clean it. So they specifically omit information to lure customers. The spa manager approached us after we spoke to the receptionist and offered us one free cup of Himalayan salts scrub used in the hammam to probably ”calm us” which we thought ridiculous and not sure how to take that. When we left the spa and spoke to the receptionist again, they reminded us that they gave us some salts - I was dumbfounded. We obviously did not pay for an extra spa day or the massages. As for the pools, they are not that ”interesting”. They have the usual jets but the pressure isn't that great and the whirlpool was not hot enough. Their walking cold to hot pool was neither cold enough or hot enough. The atmosphere is like being in a normal hotel swimming pool. The Quercus restaurant was fraud. I have eaten in many fine dining but we paid 230 euros for 2 people that left a bad taste instead of blissful happiness. We went early for an aperitivo - we ordered an over priced glass of their bubbles and the accompaning food arrived 20 minutes after we finished drinking the wine. For dinner, you can order a la carte (recommended) or they have set menus that you don't know what you're getting because it's the chef who comes up with it based on (what we thought) our tastes. The person at this hotel was really welcoming and very flexible in terms of re-arrangement of my stay. He shared many great sightseeing places and directed the way to my room. The bathroom and shower room are shared with others, but they are clean and you still have a single your own room with such a resonance price.
