Pelican Waters Hotels & Accommodations

Disapointed that on arrival, we were given a piece of paper, (which we did not read until day 2), advising that the room would not be serviced daily, (by that time I had put the towels on the floor to be changed) only if you stayed for over a week then your room would be serviced after day 3 or 4, you can ask for clean towels but at a charge. Also you must remove rubbish and put it in the garbage room shute on leaving, otherwise your credit card would be charged. I have never experienced this in any hotel/motel, even 2-3 stars, resort any where else in the world. We stayed 4 days, on day 3 my husband asked for more toilet paper and clean towels, husband asked why our room had not been serviced, we were told, it was a studio appartment, reception was quite flippant, but agreed to the request, although did not replace either, had to go ask a second time, told we did not have to pay for the clean towels.

Breakfast was plentiful. Unfortunately, I did n’t go to the swimming pool. Clean and balcony. There are few types of kitchen bowls. There are microwave ovens. Basically very nice. The rooms are big and quiet. Birds are always noisy at night.

I stayed at the Golden Beach motor inn with my elderly father while visiting the area. I was met at reception by the very friendly hostess Desleigh who explained details of the accommodations and the area and was very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean. It was upstairs and had a double bed and a single bed. There was a fridge, tea and coffee provisions and a tv. The bathroom was modern and equipped with soap and shampoo. The room was air conditioned. There is a swimming pool and undercover parking. Then motel was fully booked the night we stayed, but it was quiet and we slept really well. Its a short walk to downtown Caloundra, where there are lots of restaurants. There is an Aldi and a pub a very short distance away, and a Woolworths and bottle shop slightly further (but still walking distance). This is a basic motel, not a 5 star resort, but if you set you expectations accordingly we found it a great place to stay. I recommend it and really enjoyed staying there.

Centrally located on the beach, in the town centre, view of the desert and mountains! How unique! Easily walk to restaurants in the evening and shopping during the day. Staff was very nice and accommodated our camper for parking as it was too high to go in the underground parking, Very comfortable room, king bed, separate bedroom and laundry facilities. Great stay,

Hotel location is good, very close to the beach. Parking is also very convenient. The interior of the room is fully equipped and the layout is reasonable. You can sit on the balcony to see the sea.

Great location walking distance to the plaza,Woolworths,McDonald’s and the Main Street. And is attached to a great tavern for meals. The shower was beautiful the room is modern and clean. Having a swimming pool would be great in the summer ( to cold for us this stay) Lots of parking available and it was quiet. Would stay again it’s great value for money. The only thing is check in is inside in the dining area, there is a reception area that was unattended I had to go to the bar and ask but they got somebody to come quickly.

Hubby and I stayed here for a mini break away, we were here 2 minutes and the reception staff were rude and treated us like dirt, we were asked if we wanted to do an hour long presentation. Which went for over 2 hours and because we said we didn't want to buy into their ridiculous time share scheme, we were treated poorly by the staff, I will never stay here ever again as the rooms are outdated, and staff need attitude adjustments. Overall I would never waste my money to stay here.
