Garibaldi Rooms

If I could give this place a negative star rating I would. Do NOT stay at this place. It is a scam. We booked through las**inute.com looking forward to a short city break to naples/pompeii and it turned out to be the worst 3 nights of my life. Our check-in information mentioned we could get our room at 11am so, as we had an early morniny flight, got to the hotel just after 11 expecting our room to be ready. We were told to give them an hour. We returned just after 12 and were told it was still not ready and were guided upstairs after a further 45 minutes of waiting the room was finally ready and we were relieved! BUT this is where the hell started. We were taken outside of the hotel casablanca reception area to a separate “hotel” a 5 minute walk away called hotel siri. The area was a building site and the room looked like a bedsit. I kid you not, at this place I believe I could have contracted hepatitis. Understandably we complained informing the hotel this is not what we had booked and were taken back to the reception to speak to the “director”. When we got to the reception area we were met with 2 hostile people refusing to speak in English to us informing that they now could not speak English when they were conversing with us only a short while earlier. They then moved us into a room in the main Hotel Casablanca. However, we did not feel safe staying in this hotel and had to spend valuable time during our holiday finding a new accommodation that we could relax in. We are still awaiting information from las**inute.com and the so-called hotel on a a refund. Which after the shambolic service/attitude, dishonesty, lies and deceit we encountered during our first few moments in naples, we believe is entitled. I emplore you - DO NOT book this hotel. You will get scammed just like we did. Las**inute.com YOU must do something to stop this from happening. I expect to be hearing from you again to correct this. What was meant to be a relaxing, fun break turned out to be 3 nights in HELL.
Hotel San Pietro

The single room in this hotel was excellent, larger than I expected with a great waterfall shower. The wifi was fast and good as well. The breakfast was really good too, better that I'd expected - plenty of food, buffet style. The hotel is a bit of a hike away from many of the main tourist attractions, at least a 20 minute walk but it's near a subway station and convenient location for the train station too.

Very clean rooms, but absolutely nothing fancy or “Italian “ about them. Quite modern but very plain. Rooms open right into the reception area and this can be noisy at times. Thank goodness they have soundproof windows and a quiet AC unit! as the street is one of the main streets in Napoli and extremely noisy! Breakfast is as continental as they come: yogurts, 2 kids of cereal (one is chocolate something), some bananas for fruit, juices, hard-boiled eggs, cooked ham, and processed cheese slices (I would think that this would be sacrilegious in Italy!). They did have some nice local pastry though, but didn’t even have croissants on our first of 3 mornings there. They do need to step up their Italian breakfast! The cappuccino was not bad. Having a lift was very good. Area of town was not great. A lot of migrants and the streets are filthy! It must have been a nice area once. Too bad because it’s so close to the train station. Would suggest paying a bit more and going further into the main area of Napoli.

Situated by the central station the area is not the best, but the hotel is ideal for a city break and the staff are very helpful. We stayed for seven nights and found it to be a great place to stay to explore Naples, Pompeii, Ercolano and Amalfi coast. The room was fine, cleaned daily, with mini fridge and en-suite. Breakfast was typically Neapolitan croissant and espresso, but rolls and yoghurts and cakes were also available, overseen by the nicest gentleman, Ciro. In fact all staff were great if you took the time to talk to them. We have stayed in a lot worse hotels for city breaks around the world and would recommend here to anyone that wants to feel part of the city.
Hostel Mancini Naples

The 5 bed female dorm was quite spacious and the ensuite bathroom was quite big, and both were very clean. The buffet breakfast included in the price was varied and delicious. The staff gave me useful advice for my trip. It was really easy to drop my bag off in the morning of check in and pick it up on the evening of check out without having to warn in advance. The location is perfect for taking the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento or Pompei, or for any train leaving from Central station. The hostel has CCTV around, and I felt very safe there. The rules of the hostel were clear and reasonable. Whilst it's location is central, it is necessary to cross a few busy roads to get to it (especially if you come from Central station or Circumvesuviana) It is also not so well sign-posted but you just need to look carefully for the street number and street name. This hostel doesn't organise parties, bar crawls or evening events but is a place where you can get a good nights' sleep.
