Alpenhotel Kramerwirt

My husband and I had a package holiday with Inghams to Forsthaus zum kramerwirt. The Forsthaus is an annex building just across the way from main hotel. Check in was easy and staff kindly helped take out bags to our room. The room was basic but perfectly functional for our weeks stay. We were please try surprised to see a fridge too, which was nice for keeping some drinks in for after ski. On our particular week there were 2 large parties of younger adults. We found that they were up playing music and walking up and down the corridors shouting till past midnight some nights. Fortunately we'd taken earplugs with us, but when we spoke with front desk they said there was nothing they could do. They suggested I approached other guests to see if they would swap rooms, but we didn't feel that was our role or a suitable resolution. I suspect we were just a little unlucky and we're very tolerant to noise having spent many years travelling, but it did make the sleeping experience feel more like a hostel than hotel unfortunately. This is the only reason I rate the hotel 4 not 5 stars as we otherwise had a fantastic stay. We stayed half board. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a range of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, pastries along with tea, coffee and juices. Evening service was equally as impressive. Most nights entailed a four course menu of which you selected your main each morning. Two evenings involved a buffet. The service was absolutely spot on. All waiters were lovely. The ski bus picks you up right outside and links to both penken and ahorn lifts. It's also a short walk to the train, where you can head off to zell am ziller and Kaltenbach. We hired our skis from the rental just outside and were really impressed with the quality. All in all we would return but feel we would book the main hotel next time in hope of it being a little quieter.

Beautiful traditional hotel in a fantastic location. We stayed for a week for a couples ski trip having booked through Inghams. The hotel is in a great location in a lovely square opposite the church. The ski bus stop is right outside the front door & the equipment hire shop if you need it is also very close. The hotel is family run, historic & traditional. They are making changes to modernise but are still very in keeping with the traditional Austrian feel. The spa area is very modern & the roof top pool is a fabulous way to relax after a day on the slopes. The staff are also absolutely lovely and just contributed to the overall lovely feeling of the hotel. They even organised a small bottle of fizz for us to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We stayed in a lovely comfort room which was very spacious and had two windows over looking the church. The bells are rung in the morning so you don’t need an alarm clock to get you up & out on the slopes. We had a half board option & the food is absolutely delicious & plentiful. This is one of my favourite hotels I have stayed in & can not recommend it enough.

We have just returned from our stay at Kramerwirt. As part of a sizable group, we found that the hotel had limited available rooms for all of us to book in the main building. Our accommodation was situated in the adjacent building across the road. We took the opportunity to look at the rooms in the main hotel, which had recently been refurbished to a high standard. While our room was more basic, there was a reasonable differenceGre, making us quite content with our choice. It's worth noting that there is a supermarket beneath the hotel, and we were pre-warned about the early-morning noise from deliveries. We had full access to all the hotel facilities, and we particularly enjoyed the spa area, even though the outdoor pool was a bit chilly, which wasn't surprising given the freezing weather outside. There was a good choice at breakfast, with a variety of hot and cold choices, and you could order your eggs how you wanted them. We ate in the restaurant most evenings, where the food was really good, with a diverse menu, loved the salad bar. We want to thank the restaurant team for their great service and helpfulness. Christian, in particular, deserves special mention as he took care of us with a smile a great sense of humor, answering all our questions. We would certainly recommend the Kramerwirt and thank all the team fordifference a great stay.

Lovely welcome. Very accommodating in requests. A real family run hotel where all the team want to give you the very warmest hospitality. Bedroom was really well appointed and exceeded expectation. The relaxation spa on the top floor is 1st class and really made our skiing holiday - such a joy to use after a hard days skiing.

The Kramerwirt in Mayrhofen is a wonderful place to stay on holiday. It combines the best of Tyrolean tradition with every modern comfort. The hotel is situated in the heart of Mayrhofen, so it’s easy to reach the shops, station and gondolas to the Penken and Ahorn mountains. The staff are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is delicious, with plenty of choice and meals are always an enjoyable experience! The worst part of staying at the Kramerwirt is that you cannot stay forever!

I just received information from hotel that they acknowledge that room I rented was not up to the standard that it shows on their website. TV placed on the wardrobe. Old fashioned furniture, broken window. The explanation from the hotel: "You are right, the cabinet in room 403 is not up to date and watching TV is not comfortable from the seating. The carpenters were under pressure before season started, in two weeks the new wardrobe will be fixed and you will get a picture of that to proof that I AM NOT LYING." Please be aware they lie.. with food as well, it is not home made butter, not home made meat... everything is from the store.

Once you have stayed at the Kramerwirt, you'll never want to stay anywhere else. Our room was clean and comfortable, staff all so friendly and the meals superb and adapted for my dietary requirements

Alpenhotel Kramerwirt is my favourite hotel, and is located in magnificent Zillertal. It has been family owned and run for generations so that there is a tradition of friendliness and high standards. The food is excellent and close attention is paid to meeting dietary requirements. In addition to hotel guests who normally dine in one of the indoor dining rooms, the restaurant on the front terrace attracts many locals. After an enjoyable meal I often enjoy a relaxing drink amongst those friendly locals. As always, my room was very comfortable and well equipped- its window appears in the photograph on the left and provided a view over the front terrace. The Kramerwirt attracts many repeat guests. One of those people told me that he has visited Mayrhofen for twenty five years, and has tried five hotels before deciding that the Kramerwirt is the best!

Everything amazing! Rooms are spacious and very clean, all in the same building. The spa (sauna world and jacuzzi) is new, cozy and very well set up, perfect to relax after a day of hiking or skiing on the glacier! All the staff is friendly and welcoming, felt like part of the family for a few days. Would definitely come back!
