Resort is an inflated term. Pool closed, spa closed, rooms are upstairs but there is no elevator so be ready to carry your bags. Small washer and dryer in the sauna room, outdated fitness equipment. Weird 'token' system for using the 'resort' things like washer or sauna.Interesting little game area downstairs, a couple kayaks and bikes to rent. Few real amenities that would make this a ”resort”. It's a decent hotel. The rooms are clean but the windows don't open so it gets very stuffy, the fridge froze everything and the bathroom is tiny and dated. My view was gross, so I kept the shade down. When the tide is out there is a beach, it is close to the ferry pier and a very pretty view when the construction is not going. The sun rises right in front of the hotel! Restaurant has a large menu for dinner, but only one choice for breakfast (set meal or nothing). What saves this place is the staff! They are wonderful, lovely people!

Highly recommended for families. This is its own little town with supermarket, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and pharmacy. We took the free morning shuttle to Disney and had a wonderful time. Very convenient and cost effective. The breakfast buffet is nice and the Christmas decor was superb. We will definitely be staying again. Just wish the hotel had an ATM machine

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Warwick Hotel on Cheung Chau Island on 4-5 Jan 2025, and I must say it was a delightful experience! While the hotel has a charming, slightly aged character, it is well-maintained and adds to the unique ambiance of the place. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's location. Nestled in a quiet area, it offers breathtaking views of the sea that are truly mesmerizing. Waking up to the sound of waves and the sight of the horizon was a wonderful way to start each day. The room itself was spacious and designed simply yet comfortably, providing a great retreat after a day of exploring the island. The staff were friendly and welcoming. While there were a couple of minor drawbacks, such as the WiFi in the room being a bit unstable and the breakfast buffet lacking variety, these did not significantly impact my overall experience. Plus, with numerous restaurants and cafes nearby, I found plenty of delightful options for meals. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at the Warwick Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway on Cheung Chau Island!

On April 27th, we booked a suite on the 2nd floor at the Tai O Heritage Hotel for one night on June 22nd. My wife and I took the Ngong Ping 360 to Po Lin Monastery in the morning, and after having an exquisite lunch at the Monastery’s vegetarian restaurant, we took bus No. 21 to Tai O. Arrived at the hotel at about 3 pm and completed the check-in procedure within 10 minutes. We were very happy to receive a lucky bag for the 10th anniversary of the hotel. A hotel staff warmly brought us upstairs to our room. We were told that it was a little bit difficult to unlock the door because the hotel wants to preserve the original structure and appearance of the wooden door of the Old Tai O Marine Police Station (120 years ago). Although a very skilful demonstration was given, it was a hard job for us to unlock the door because of the handicap of our age. In the end, we had to trust the security system of the Hotel and didn't attempt to lock the door at all. After the opening hours for public visitors at 6 pm, the environment of the Hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We like very much the rustic continental style glass-roofed restaurant: sitting at a small table facing the Tai O Bay, we had a feeling of enjoying the harvest of our lifework. We know that Tai O Heritage Hotel is a non-profit organization with a mission to protect cultural relics and historic sites in addition to providing hotel services, and because there are only 9 rooms (6 on the first floor and 3 suites on the second floor), it is a big constraint to run the business successfully, we also understand that the cost-effective of room charges and meal prices must not be on par with the 5-star Hotels in the city. We will be back, thanks!

Note that if you want to check in in person, the reception is located at a completely different address -- walk straight ahead after getting off the ferry and it's a shop on the right that also handles bookings for several other bnb places. Otherwise, if you show up at the hotel itself, check-in is by WhatsApp only, which is a bit annoying. Also note that there's no lift, and the hotel is situated on a slope, so try to avoid bringing a lot of baggage. While the opening hours of the restaurant / lounge area on the top floor are supposed to be until midnight, it is unstaffed and the air conditioning is turned off after breakfast hours, so I wasn't able to use the space despite it being a nice area to do some work or read.

Room was fine, clean, with AC and towels. What was weird - receptionist guy told us to pay additionaly if we wanted to use soap/shampoo/comb, which were already in the room. Very Near to the ferry pier. Nice to have the bbq facility on rooftop. Friendly staff. Rooms are small but ok for a short stay like a day or two. About 25minute walk to the hong shing ye beach. If you have a big luggage, I recommend to stay in Bali resort as it’s close to the ferry but if you have a light bag to carry then there are other accommodation right at the beach.

This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. Still love it. The location is prime, right at the beach, although it takes about 30 mins of walk from the pier. The place is clean, bright and very quiet at night. The staff is super helpful. We arrived late at night but they came to help with the check-in once we contact them. Will definitely stay again.

Because I wanted to take some time off and relax, I booked a night’s stay at the Peach Blossom Hotel located at No. 29 Hung Shing Ye Wan, Lamma Island. From Yung Shue Wan Pier, it takes about 20 minutes to walk along Jiale Trail to the hotel in Hung Shing Ye Wan. It is not too hard to walk for a while! This is a sister hotel. To check in, you have to go to the reception desk of Langtaoxuan next to it. The procedure is very simple. You can check in by registering your personal information and paying a $500 deposit. The deposit can be cash or credit card. It will be refunded or waived after checking out. Deductions. The receptionists here are very polite and enthusiastic, and are happy to explain the check-in instructions and nearby environment to travelers. The working hours of employees here are from 9 to 9, that is, there are no employees on duty from 9 pm to 9 pm the next day. However, if you have any problems, you can call the emergency number for help. On the night I checked in, the No. 8 typhoon signal was hoisted. I was unexpected. What would happen if I inquired about the typhoon situation? I received clear responses and guidance. The service is very good and I am very satisfied! The room space is large but sufficient, and the basic equipment is complete. Under the plastic-free policy, the hotel will still provide toothbrushes privately. The only failure is that some TV channels cannot be received in the outlying islands. I personally only watch Viu TV channels. I also wanted to watch some programs, but it turned out that this hotel couldn't receive Viu TV, which made me very disappointed! But the environment near the hotel is very good, with a quiet beach and a garden restaurant. The English breakfast in the restaurant is quite good. Overall, although this hotel is relatively remote and has to be reached on foot, it has a quiet environment and a beach. The price is reasonable and cost-effective, making it a good place for a quiet and relaxing vacation!

WWarheadThe host was very nice and friendly. He gave us a lot of info about the local attractions. The room was extremely clean though, but the water flow was a bit slow due to low water pressure. We don’t think this is an issue though, because it didn’t affect our showers but just think that it’s something we need to mention about. In terms of location, I would consider it as inconvenient, because there’s a 10mins walk to the main road and cars can’t drive through because there’s no road/ paths nearby the house. For drivers x you do need to park your car outside where about 10mins walk away. In terms of cleanliness and quietness, this place is an extremely clean, and the host actually asked us to leave our shoes outside the room. Also, I haven’t found any dust or dirt in this house. In terms of view, we were not arranged to a room with any views, which is kinda disappointed. As far as I know there were other rooms occupied at the same time, and they were on the second floor and third floor. Unfortunately, they are the rooms that have views. In terms of facilities, we actually didn’t manage time to cook or BBQ at this place. Guests can actually use the kitchen and BBQ at the backyard.

JJielingvery satisfied! In my heart, this is Ngong Ping’s blessed place! At the same time, I also enjoyed chatting with the hostel administrator and felt that I was treated sincerely! Thanks again! Everyone is welcome to experience staying at the youth hostel. You can also camp at the youth hostel, and the basic settings are available. It will definitely make you more comfortable than the nearby Ngong Ping campsite.

LLoner TravelerThis place is a guest house located in the peaceful village, no vehicles, no rushing. Before you come, be prepared for the transportation and you have to walk at least 10 mins from the village entrance, and try not to bring big luggage if not necessary, as the rooms are not big enough to place big stuff. What I'm surprised about this place is that it has amenities and room facilities we need, the only thing they should add more is the umbrella, and complementary bottles of water at least for the first night.

GGuest UserA preface... This time, due to a sudden schedule change by the airline, the flight was moved to the morning, so I was unable to stay. I somehow managed to request a free cancellation through Trip.com, but they said that it was non-refundable as per the regulations. It can't be helped since it was a non-refundable reservation that included that risk, but...I would have appreciated it if they could be flexible...Since I was paying, I went to the island early and stayed from around 11am (I was grateful for the early check-in) until around 11pm to explore the island. First of all, I'd like to say that this is not a hotel. It's a guesthouse called Dohiya...or rather You can't expect any facilities or services from a private lodging. It's a little expensive in terms of cost performance, but if you understand that, it's a great place to experience the locals on the island. It's a room in an apartment along Tung Wan Beach, just off the island's port. There is no front desk, but they have a food stall next to the McDonald's in front of the pier (along with other food stalls) to attract customers and take in guests. An older woman kindly accepts you and gives you a key and a map to your room. The room is about a 5-minute walk from the reception desk, in an alleyway between the apartments just before the beach, but it's a little difficult to find. The apartment is also home to the islanders, and the staircase number and alphabet are written at the entrance to each staircase. This combination corresponds to the ”room number”. By the way, my room was 11DA, so I went up the stairs to 11D and tried to enter room ”11D” (someone else's house?), but the key didn't fit... I went up to the second floor and found ”11DA”. When choosing a room, please check the photos carefully, as there are some rooms in buildings that do not face the sea (this time the room was ”sea view”). The room is small, with only a bed, a small wall desk, and a toilet, but there is a small balcony, and the beach is right below, so the ocean view and the sound of the waves are wonderful. There is no air conditioning, but if you open the window and the door to the room, the sea breeze will come through (but (The room was completely visible and I was approached by the residents on the floor above.) The shower was the type that you would find in a cheap Chinese hostel with a shower in the bathroom, but the toilet paper folder was fully covered and the paper was deliberately placed on top of the refrigerator, so it looked like they had taken care (?). There were no towels or amenities, but there was an empty refrigerator, a hair dryer, and a foldable round table, and the bed was a spacious king-size. As an aside, there was a pair of flip-flops, which was convenient for exploring the island. There are many shops near the pier, and even a massage parlor, which is very convenient. I think it's an interesting facility if you understand the unique features of the facility and use it accordingly.

TTy TravelerThis hotel was the cheapest private room I could find in Cheung Chao, so I tried not to expect too much before I walked inside. Fortunately, it was pretty good. The bed was clean and spacious, the TV worked fine and the water turned hot. Also, there was toilet paper, a fridge and even a cup of toothbrushes. The only negative is the damp feeling inside, which is common in hotels near the beach. Overall, I enjoyed my stay (only 30 seconds from the beach) and recommend this hotel for any short holiday.
