Garner Properties in Cologne

The room was great, the location was good, and the air was fresh. The chocolate sauce at breakfast was excellent. The host was very polite and arranged a taxi for us. The hotel environment was also very nice. The young couple downstairs looked quite nice.

A modern hotel right in the city center, a stone's throw from the cathedral and shops. Good breakfast, nice decor, pleasant welcome, friendly staff, comfortable bed and linens. BUT: the room was extremely small with the bed against the wall, forcing us to crawl over each other, and had a depressing view. The bathroom had no ventilation, making the small room very stuffy after showering. This meant opening the windows, resulting in noise from fans. So so so comfortable (this last phrase seems sarcastic given the context).

It's a bit far from Cologne Cathedral. You'll need to take a tram to get around, but I booked a room close to the Flixbus stop, so it was fine! The room was really cold. It was okay with a blanket, but the air was cold. It was reasonably clean and overall, it was fine! I was also surprised when they told me my payment hadn't been processed at check-in. I think there was an error because I booked through a brokerage site (Trip.com). They said they'd let me know if there were any issues at check-out, but I paid the city tax and it was fine. ^^
