The staff welcomed us at the hotel entrance and helped us check in the hotel quickly. The staff was very helpful in explaining the hotel layout and where our meals would take place, and made sure we understood before leaving. The dinner and breakfast service were amazing, the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Their hotel has an outdoor foot bath with towels provided which I enjoyed immensely. The hotel is very clean and has shuttle service which was convenient since it is on a hill. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The hotel is located close to Xialv Hot Spring Street. Book the Dragon God Festival that night. Turning down the street is already a food stall location. Then there is Bailu Bridge ๐ The hotel entrance registration location is neat, there are coffee and other drinks, and there are bathrobes for male/female guests and children to wear out ๐ guest room size is still Yes, very comfortable, with separate toilets and bathrooms. Although there is a loan cut, the lack of baths is still a fly in the ointment. Breakfast was great, with hot Japanese-style miscellaneous soup in a thermos bottle, bread and juice ๐
The location of the hotel is very partial, not in Gero, it is at Hida osaka station. It takes about half an hour by JR from Takayama to arrive. It is a very, very small platform. After getting off the train, there are no people in a radius of 10 kilometers. All shops are closed. If you donโt make it in advance Raiders will probably cry out at the station because of helplessness. We took the address and took the bus.
This is an original hot spring hotel with a century of history, full of human touch and warmth. Most of them are Japanese locals who come to soak in the hot springs by themselves. The hotel owner and staff do not speak English at all. They rely on the lame translation machineโsign language to communicate. When entering the store, they will first make an appointment for the bath time, which is only 40 minutes. It seems that there is no need to make an appointment outside. For breakfast, all Japanese-style home cooking is exquisite and there are many types. After taking you to the room, Obasan was very polite. He felt sorry for us because the room was still cold. There were two hot water bottles in the bed.
Quanyuekan is named for the high concentration of carbonated springs. The two pools have a lower temperature inside and a higher temperature outside. There is hot spring water at the entrance of the male bath that you can drink directly. It is soda water. The mask paper is provided, you can go directly in to get the hot spring water to apply, or you can feel the bubbling under the bottom, and the skin will be slippery after soaking.
Inadequate: the location is really biased! Although the dinner and breakfast provided are very rich, it is inevitable that you will be lonely in this wilderness! You need to bring your own dry food! There are no other activities except bathing, the hotel is very, very quiet! Compare

Staying in a room with an open-air hot tub is full of mosquitoes, like a bathtub on the terrace, which is twice as expensive as an ordinary room, not too expensive. Breakfast and dinner are buffets, the food is ok, this season is for beef and pork hot pot. There is free parking. There are free massage chairs in the lobby.
Nature resort Hida Kanayama a town of natural clear streams and river fish located in a corner of Gero Onsen Gifu Prefecture
In the summer of 2020 the minshuku guest house cafe Hanairokuri opened
The location is convenient for access to Gujo Gero Nakatsugawa Ena etc
You can enjoy a quiet private space
This is an inn where you can also enjoy experiencing nature
The shaking of the elevator ๐ spills the cup of coffee. I felt very dangerous. Welcome drinks were very good. The service of Oden ๐ข and Ramen ๐ is the best. The private open-air bath was not good, but the underground bath was good. For dinner, grilled meat on a pottery plate ๐ฅฉ Hobamiso is delicious. Free alcohol drinks were also good. The water splitting of the sub-flowing water in Hida was the most fun. At breakfast, Orange ๐ was very sweet and delicious. I wish I had ice cream. In terms of price, I will give you a passing score. In addition, please provide customer service. I would like to use it again. Fireworks ๐ also looked a little!
Very memorable experience, the whole process from the start to leave was wonderful, touching service, perfect meal, only a little bit I'm not too used to is there is no shower in the room, it's my personal habit. But it was a very memorable journey and I am very grateful to all the staff of KKR Gero for their care and service, thank you again
Experienced the best satisfaction at a ryokan and not expensive price.
The building is old and old, but it was well maintained and clean, and unlike the appearance, the interior was quite spacious.
The owner's family were very friendly and provided the best service and meals.
The hot springs are small too, but the water is very good, clean.
It's a place I definitely want to visit again later.
Thank you! :)
The food is delicious. The location is located under Hot Spring Street, which is very convenient. It's not too far from the station. There is a car to pick you up and you can make a reservation in advance.

Kaiseki all food is beautifully designed

The open-air bath is very clean, it's really comfortable to soak in the hot spring while looking at the mountain view

TTianxiawushuangdehuangmaoguaiVery Japanese style, warm and thoughtful service, although we can't speak Japanese, we had a good chat through translation software. We enjoyed both private and public baths. When we went to the public bath, there was only our family, which was equivalent to a private bath. If I have to say a disadvantage, it is a bit far from the main area, walk about one kilometer. The next day, I went to the station and the hotel arranged a car to take me there for free.
GGuest UserOur stay at Suimeikan in Gero was nothing short of amazing. Despite the hotel's age, it has maintained its charm and offers a truly remarkable experience. The facilities were well-kept, and the traditional ambiance combined with modern conveniences made our visit both relaxing and comfortable. The onsen was a highlight, offering a serene and rejuvenating experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Suimeikan perfectly captures the essence of Gero โ a blend of timeless beauty and exceptional service. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserTraditional Japanese hot spring hotel, very close to JR, about 5 minutes walk, but need to go uphill and downhill. When you walk into the hotel, you can see the welcome sign with the name of the booker, and then change your shoes to enter the hotel. When you go out, give the key to the front desk for safekeeping. The dinner of one night and two meals is good, and we think the breakfast is average. There is free coffee on the first floor, but you need to pay attention to the opening time. It happened to be Saturday when we went there, and there were winter fireworks. Although it was only 10 minutes, it was quite satisfying. There are hot springs both indoors and outdoors. There are not many pools, but fortunately there are few people. The outdoor bath is still quite comfortable. If it is snowing when you are bathing, the atmosphere will be better. One thing is not good, that is, there is no water dispenser in the hot spring. The room type we booked has a toilet in the room, but no bathroom, which means that whether you take a hot spring or not, you have to take a bath in the public bathroom.
GGuest UserAn old hotel that retains its grandness..
Although at check in, I was informed there's a charge only if I take the flowery yukata. There are free surprises in the Japanese room every day.
Clean Japanese socks, towels in bags and a different Japanese sweet every day with Japanese tea
My room faces the Hida River, it was beautiful looking out. It is very near the rail line, but it didn't disturb me.
And I suppose all river facing hotels face the same light loving insects. But if you follow the instructions placed in the room, it is alright
JJoyce**Hotel Review**
Unfortunately, my experience at this hot spring hotel did not meet expectations. The dinner service was particularly lacking. The food had already been set up in the room before we arrived, and the waiter offered minimal assistance, only asking if we had lit the fire. There was no explanation of the dishes, nor was a menu provided. To make matters worse, the necessary cutlery for different courses was repeatedly overlooked, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable and didnโt compare to what other hot spring hotels typically offer.
The private onsen also posed a challenge. The water switch was broken, leaving no way to adjust the temperature or water flow, resulting in water that was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Breakfast the next morning was very basic and lacked the variety or creativity Iโve come to expect from similar establishments. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the standards Iโve experienced elsewhere and left much room for improvement.
WWiKiSUNGA traditional Japanese hotel with only Japanese people
Overall, a spacious and well-managed hotel
You can enjoy a quiet vacation while viewing the snowy mountains at a very reasonable price
Parking is also free
A very, very large and diverse natural hot spring public bath
Two luxurious open-air baths for men
It is a little far away, but there is a bus service, so it is not a burden
The roads have been improved, so even rental cars with snow tires are sufficient
A very generous breakfast and seasonal kaiseki (dinner) are provided
It is a little old, but there is no smell at all and the atmosphere was good
It is small, but it has local souvenirs and gifts
GGuest UserStayed there for two nights.
In-room onsen was good, staff at reception excellent. Food was simply terrible. Rice was cold (personally itโs simply unacceptable in any Japanese restaurant except for sushi may be?), the chef seems to enjoy making fusion dishes (and except that they were unappetising). To name but a few, we had strawberry mousse for starter, tofu (which was bitter) and pickles with miso for mains, and whoโd put diced apple in an apple sorbet?? (Felt as though I was biting into ice cubes). The waitress was also extremely impatient and rushed us through our meals (we finished our dinners within 35 minutes, breakfasts 20).
I honestly cannot recommend this hotel. Sorry, but no.
GGuest UserExcellent! Very satisfied for this onsen hotel!! Definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Everything is over expectation: services, facilities, room, public bath (onsen), food, and all. One drawback would be language barrier between some staff, but they really trying to communicate with us which is impressive. Also, there is a free shuttle bus service between train station and hotel during daytime, very convenient. Tips for me is to book this hotel on weekdays, it is half price cheaper than weekends or holidays.
DDonovan_lIt was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby.
For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heartโs content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.
