Thapae6ty Hostel

Chang Khlan
Located in the alley Walk about 100 meters from the main road. It's a bit difficult for cars to enter. There is no place to make a U-turn. The walk-in price is 200 baht, cheaper than booking through various websites. Walk to Tha Phae Gate. and Warorot Market. Sleeps in a female room with 4 beds. The bed has no curtains. There is a light and a plug at the head of the bed. The bed base is like a spring bed. When you move, the bed will creak. The blanket was too thin and too short, 168 tall, barely covering the toes. There is an air conditioner that you can turn on as you please without any time limit. The room space is wide and not cramped. There is space to place things. Spotless, the bathroom is in the room. No need to use it outside the bedroom. The bathroom is wide but does not separate wet and dry sections. Soap and shampoo are provided. For towels, you must ask the staff yourself. All employees provided very good service.

NAP in Chiangmai

Nap offers clean and a good price for their centrally located hotel on Loy Kroh Road. There's a 711 on the ground level and you are steps away from the bars and restaurants on Loy Kroh and the night bazaars where you can catch some good eats. The front desk is staffed until 11pm and then you need to use a security card to access the premises. My room was great, although my small window faced an interior courtyard. If a view is something you enjoy, you might want to be sure of what room you are reserving. The wifi was a bit spotty at times, but I was hardly in the room during my trip. All in all, you can't beat the price along with the friendly staff.

Actually it is my second time staying at this hotel. The rooms have good A/C, shower, bath products, like toothbrushing sets. Comfortable bed, and a decent breakfast with a variety of products/meals. There is kind of a ”moldy” smell from the carpets, but it did not bother me so much since I was traveling outside the hotel most of the time.

The hotel is really a rare pearl in Chiang Mai. The location is strategic, you can do everything walking away. The room was clean, comfortable with everything I needed. The staff are laughing and put in four to serve. The price-quality ratio is inbattable.

Out of the lobby you can walk to the Night Bazaar immediately. About 7 minutes walk to the Food Market where there's live music performances. Monday to Friday are the best nights while Sunday most of the restaurants are closed. About 30 minutes walk from the right side of the lobby you can reach the Old Ciity Wall. It is romantic with the night lighting. There's quite a selection of western, Thai and Chinese food from the hotel breakfast buffet.
