Movich Hotel Rooftop: The Movich Hotel Rooftop took me completely by surprise. It is located atop Hotel Movich Cartagena De Indias, a stunning luxury accommodation belonging to the exclusive and highly notable “Small Luxury Hotels of the World.” I had read many reviews and blogs prior to visiting that said this rooftop is “overrated” and “overcrowded.” I am soooo glad that I ignored those opinions, because Movich Hotel Rooftop is absolutely stunning, and provided me with the best sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. Movich Hotel Rooftop is an excellent vibe, with a nice floorplan layout and enjoyable upbeat tropical music. The food and drinks are delicious. I ordered a ceviche and sipped on a lychee martini and another pretty fruity cocktail while we waited for the sun to set. The sunset view from the Movich Hotel Rooftop is simply mind blowing. The way the sun shines over the water, reflects off the tall new-city skyscrapers in the background, accompanied by the old architecture of the walled-city in the foreground, and lights up the sky in bright-warm colors is a core memory that is forever painted in my mind. I recommend getting to this Cartagena rooftop early, at opening or a little after, as the tables fill up close to sunset. Movich Hotel Rooftop is the perfect place for taking in the most dreamy Cartagena sunsets.

This is a stunning property in the heart of the old town. The rooms are nice and the staff is super friendly. One factor you may want to know and we learnt the hard way is that language is a major issue in Colombia. No one really speaks English and google translate was our best friend. Even in a top notch hotel like Sofitel this may be an issue. Just something to be aware of which came as a surprise to us. Just a FYI The breakfast was fantastic. The fruit choices are exotic and amazing I do want to put in a shout ouut to Carlos Jesús, Jaison , Jose and Jorge who were our servers in our 4 wonderful days at the hotel. I would definitely come back here!!

The view is invincible. The hotel has three swimming pools. It is very pleasant to have a glass of wine while enjoying the scenery at sunset. The hotel has a rich breakfast, and there are many guests eating after 10 o'clock. Those who like to sleep in do not have to worry about missing breakfast time. The bathroom is very large, and the shower series are from Colombia's local organic brand, with a pleasant fragrance. Ctrip's price is very favorable, much cheaper than booking. I stayed for three nights and it was very pleasant! highly recommended!

TV has several channels in multiple languages. Can't speak to the complimentary breakfast, as it only consisted of eggs. The restaurant menu in general is small but the food is really good. I ate there daily, and the service was mostly good, except for the last 2 days: the drink quality and speed of service diminished, which is unfortunate. Overall, good stay.

I've been @ Santuario much longer than planned due to some health issue. So, I had the time to highly appreciate not only the hostel itself, the great vibe and atmosphere, the fantastic beds setup where you have plenty of space (!) plus an unusual total privacy, like you have a mini room inside a room, but especially the people: staff is great and really cares the guest, while sick I had a family like surveillance, especially Stefy ”la chica del bar”, Kathy (cleaning & kitchen) and Jose (maintenance) never missed supporting me and asking genuinely interested how I was feeling doing their best to help. In a difficult moment, I was in the right place, thanks them! One only thing disturbing me was, the aircon management: ok it was on only evening and night, quite usual, problem was a person feeling cold was enough to shut down the aircon for everyone... and it was hot then... i love freezing, ok, but a correct balance would be the best, suggesting who's cold to wear a t-shirt should work, and others won't sweat ;-)

We stayed for over 3 weeks and were returning guests. They provided us with a comfortable room with a great view. Breakfast was simple but tasty. There was a lot of construction including the road the hotel access is on and the beach is all torn up at present. Walking south on the beach for a half hour is easy and walking a half hour into the old city is easy. Many great restaurants all around the hotel too. The security at the front door were wonderful, and always so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant food was inconsistent but some of the servers were incredible. We ate there frequently.

This hotel was in the perfect location for us because it was within walking distance to many restaurants, and local vendors and a 9-minute drive to the Old Town. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the hot water was good as well. All the staff was pleasant, polite, and professional. They were very attentive and had a willingness to address issues while going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. However, some adjustments need to be made to improve the guest experience. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were wondering if it was closed because the door was locked. We had to knock for someone to let us in and that continued for the rest of our stay. Whenever we went out and came back, we had to knock. Also, for the nights we came back late, two females would be the ones answering the door, which seemed unsafe for them and the guests. We would also get a Whatsapp message with the same breakfast menu every night, requesting for us to place our order for the next morning. That made us feel pressured into giving a response and it was quite unfair because sometimes we couldn’t easily change our minds the next morning. The constant back and forth on the phone took time away from us enjoying our vacation. There was also loud music that was played every morning which interrupted our rest. We forgot to put the DND sign outside one night and the housekeeper entered our room early in the morning without knocking. Cleaning was also only available in the morning, so we had no choice but to wake up early if we wanted fresh sheets and towels. In addition to that, we requested an iron and iron board but we were told that the hotel did not have an iron board. The iron we received burnt a large hole in a brand new dress 30 seconds after it was plugged in, while on the lowest heat. We brought it to the attention of the front desk and they simply apologized but there was no compensation for the inconvenience, which was very inconsiderate and unprofessional. Upon checking out, we were also given a form to fill out with our information and a rating of our stay at the hotel. The form also included a request for feedback, which was to be submitted before we left. We opted not to complete the form because no hotel should be forcing their guests to provide signed feedback on spot, that is what the booking reviews are for. These issues need to be addressed for the guest experience to be more positive.

I had a very pleasant stay at Patio de Getsemani. The place is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast very good, and above all the staff is very friendly and helpful. Patio de Getsemani is located inside the old city's wall, in the area of Getsemani which is very enjoyable (several cool bars and restaurants, beautiful streetart, nice streetlife...) and safe, close the historical center by walk (a safe walk). I totally recommend to stay at Patio de Getsemani !

My wife and I stayed there for 5 days and managed to go to the main touristic points either on foot or by Uber at very low fares. There is plenty of small markets, pharmacies, money exchange, restaurants and bars in the surroundings. The service is very nice and they really make an effort to please and serve us well. This place is simply amazing. My girlfriend and I decided to stay here for the first two nights in Colombia and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. We stayed in the Africa suite - the room was clean, beautifully decorated, and had so much charm. The bed was comfortable and all the amenities were as advertised. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The staff here is truly what deserves a stellar review. We arrived late and even before our arrival, the owner Marcus had responded to us promptly with info about checking in. When we got there - Franc (François) was waiting for us and gave us a quick and thoughtful tour of the BnB and was so kind and informative with any and every question we had. He made the trip for us. Such a wonderful human being. The next morning we had an amazing breakfast that was cooked to perfection and was greeted by their resident tortoise on the premises - such a cute lil guy, as well as Marcus who was just as welcoming and kind as he was on the phone. When we left, Roman was working and set us up with a cab to the bus station and was equally kind and helpful. I could go on - but just do yourself a favor and book this BnB. I’ll be going back the next time I come back to Cartagena - and any time after that.
