Having visited Baru Island, there is no comparison with this corner of Tierra Bomba, which is really expensive for what it is! The quality of the sand is similar to that used for construction, the beach beds and towels are aging, an armada of adopted dogs who accompanied us everywhere, even when swimming, very limited offer in general - I do not recommend!

Property was very poorly maintained. Air conditioning and television did not work on arrival, shower drain stopped up and flooded bathroom and bedroom, waited one and one half hour for food at lunch. Staff was nice but not competent. One of my worst hotel experiences ever.

Love the personel . And the rooms. Nice an quit . Only thing i did not like not having access to stay longer out in cartagena downtown..since the boat has hrs to come n go from the island. Making you stuck in the Island.

I loved the beautiful property. There’s so many beautiful areas for photos and the beds are super comfortable. The beach view is great and the staff were amazing. We did find the food and drinks a bit pricey and there was a slight odor in our room. Also we did not know about boat times and we sent several messages and the response time was very slow so we ended up canceling three of the days we were going to stay there due to not being able to get a boat after our flight or before our early morning flight out and they refused to refund that day which was pretty disappointing since we didn’t stay there however I would recommend but be sure to read all fine print and contact them way in advance

My toilet in my room kept overflowing even after it was fixed the first time. No phone so I would have to leave my room if I desired anything for me or for the room. Early morning construction woke me up. At night dogs around the property would bark at night, and worse if it starts to rain. I saw dogs without their leash and saw two cats around the reception area. I mean why have animals wandering around the property? One of the dogs barked at me as it was blocking the path to go to my room. Furniture at the beach were dirty and covered with ants. I went to gag some breakfast and I sat down waiting for 15 minutes to be served. I lost my patience and left. Thank goodness there were snacks in my room and water in my minibar. I miss the hop on and off bus tour because the boat couldn’t make it on time to the hotel due to the rain. Plus as I walked around to explore the property the walkway had cracks and I almost fell. I was miserable

As there is a character limit, here are the pain points of this location: - Service/Staff - LOL what service? They would openly ignore the guests and/or you would have to request the same thing numerous times. Still lucky if you ever received it. Then at checkout you are greeted with a hidden gratuity fee. FOR WHAT? -Responsiveness- you have to arrive via ferry. Extremely difficult to book/communicate with the hotel, as they are unresponsive or delayed. We were told multiple times we didn’t have a reservation at the hotel when trying to book transportation. -checkout - during my stay I cut my finger on a piece of glass (found on their beach) and wiped it on a towel. At checkout they proceeded to showcase the towel as if it were a flag, in front of multiple guests telling us they would be charging us for the towel. I’ve never experienced this before, I was fine with being charged for the item, but the way they openly displayed it to try and shame the customer was a new one. PRO’s Pepe (vendor) / 1 bartender - these are the only two knowledgeable people at this location. They are the only ones that demonstrated any type of service or care for the guests.

Great atmosphere and views. The best feature is their private beach, free of annoying sellers, which is rare in Cartagena. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious.
