We got an overnight stay with dinner as a wedding gift. I am glad it was a gift and we hadn’t paid for it ourselves as I was left disappointed. The hotel is certainly tired and in need of upgrading. I’ve had nicer rooms at a premier inn. The swimming area is like a public swimming baths and also in need of a serious refurb. Dinner was ok, nothing special. We had booked for 7pm and were not finished until after 9 - very slow service even though it was not particularly busy. My husband ordered soup for starter and had to go looking for a spoon as he wasn’t given one and no waiting staff were in our area to ask for one. He then had a burger which was raw in the middle. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. We won’t be back and won’t be recommending to others.

We got an overnight stay with dinner as a wedding gift. I am glad it was a gift and we hadn’t paid for it ourselves as I was left disappointed. The hotel is certainly tired and in need of upgrading. I’ve had nicer rooms at a premier inn. The swimming area is like a public swimming baths and also in need of a serious refurb. Dinner was ok, nothing special. We had booked for 7pm and were not finished until after 9 - very slow service even though it was not particularly busy.
