Gaudi Hotel

Sant Martí Barcelona|0.02km from Güell Palace
Overall I would say this is a good option, right in the heart of the action. We spent a few nights here at the beginning of a multi stop trip. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. Both those in reception and those in charge of breakfast. They all seemed to be fairly proficient at English from what I heard (I spoke Castellano.) We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Gaudi designed house (nice to have a high up open space in which to relax.) Room was pretty narrow. Bathroom 'ok'. I gather these had been reasonably recently refurbished. The only drawback with the room was that the walls appeared to be made of cardboard, or perhaps they were just paper. At any rate, we could clearly hear the goings on in the room next door. Was even worse in the bathroom. And there was a kind of internal window in the bathroom (for ventilation, I guess) - should we and our neighbours both open this window, we could have had a face to face conversation. If you're gonna refurb you could actually bother to use decent materials. I was later to discover that this same lack of consideration with regards to sound proofing is prevalent throughout Spain. Rooftop terrace had some nice views and would for sure be a nice place to chill out when the weather is a bit warmer (not so much in February.) Deckchairs, sunbeds, a mini pool. Breakfast was decent and varied. A big buffet which catered to all tastes. Wifi connection was 'ok'. You could do a lot worse than Hotel Gaudi. All things considered.

Really great central location. Hotel was spot on for what we needed. Pretty basic but had everything for a 3 night stay. Maids came everyday and cleaned our room. Buffet breakfast was fine to fill yourself up on. Orange juice freshly squeezed perfect. The gentleman and lady on reception very helpful. Room had a nice balcony looking out over some other buildings but was very quiet. The people started building work but was very quiet up until about 9am, you don't really need to be up any later than that. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a bed in a tidy clean hotel for a few nights. Super

Hotel location is not bad, just on the Rambla Street, this street is a few minutes walk to the Columbus Monument, very close to the sea, breakfast is a very ordinary Western breakfast; the bad thing is: the hotel does not provide laundry service, this is quite strange...

Pros: Perfect location in central barcelona Relatively safe Staff were friendly Lobby is spacious and cozy Cons: No appliances in the room You get charged for tea and coffee (except in breakfast) Breakfast was not good with limited variety Didn’t spend much time in the hotel but its more of a budget hotel with limited services however i would still recommend it because of its perfect location where it is centralised around alot of Barcelona attractions

PESSIMO!!

I visited the hotel arc la rambla at the end of September for a solo sight seeing trip. The hotel is in the perfect location. Right on the Main Street with easy access to restaurants, shops, the metro and we’ve gothic quarter. Many of the sights are within walking distance including many of the museums. Good mix of both British and Spanish shops and eateries locally. Despite being on the Main Street the hotel is quiet and I had no problem sleeping at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing me with a map of Barcelona when checking in and always available to answer any questions. The hotel room itself is basic but was perfect for what I needed. Double bed, bathroom with shower, open hanging rail and shelves for clothes. Spacious enough to not feel cramped. There is a fridge in the room but was no kettle (as a Brit this was a little disappointing) but I actually realised towards the end of my stay that they do have kettles and you just need to ask. There is a lovely roof terrace on the top floor which is nice for chilling in the sun. Vending machines on a couple of the floors with snacks and drinks if needed but lots of supermarkets just across the road too. The rooms are definitely a 3 star hotel but with the lovely staff and location I have given this 4 stars. Definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay whilst sight seeing in Barcelona.
