Hostels in Guangdong, China

The location is great, just a 7-8 minute walk from subway exit F. It's located within a residential complex, with the front desk and accommodations in separate buildings. The accommodation itself seems to be in a former residential building. This hostel offers all the usual amenities, including a rooftop and kitchen. The room was decent, generally clean and tidy, though that can depend on your roommates. The shower and bathroom facilities were average but mostly clean (again, depending on roommates). The hallway even had some lantern decorations, adding a touch of Chinese flair. The air conditioning in the room was excellent; with the thick duvet, I had a wonderfully sound sleep. Perhaps it's off-season, as I didn't see many other guests during my stay, and the entire floor was very quiet. There's a 20 RMB deposit for the dorm room key card, which you need to swipe to enter the building unit and again to enter the room. The key card also activates the electricity. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite. I only stayed one night, but I'd consider coming back if I'm in the area!

The front desk is on the first floor, and the second floor is an all-female accommodation area, divided into common areas (living room, lockers, restrooms) and guest rooms. Luggage cannot be taken into the rooms. After entering the second floor, you first change into slippers at the entrance of the common area, and then put your luggage in the lockers. Pros: 1. There are two cleaning staff every day, and the common areas and rooms are cleaned daily, which is quite clean. You don't have to put on duvet covers yourself, which is great! 2. The guesthouse facilities and management are well-planned. 3. The common area has desks, charging outlets, a refrigerator, and a water dispenser. 4. Disposable toiletries are complete, including bath towels, sanitary napkins, steam eye masks, etc. You don't need to buy them yourself, which is very cost-effective. Cons: 1. The washing machine and dryer cost money; one wash and one dry costs upwards of 6 yuan. 2. The restrooms are a bit small; it's a bit difficult to open the door and turn around if you're a bit larger. 3. Wet clothes can only be hung in the washing area, which is limited. When there are many people, clothes are squeezed together and can't air out properly. 4. The shower products (shower gel and shampoo are really not good, they don't lather at all. Can they be replaced with better ones?) Overall, it's pretty good. After staying in such a well-managed hostel, I really don't want to stay in private hostels anymore. Although the price is a bit high, there are free disposable toiletries, so you don't have to buy these things yourself, which lightens the burden of our luggage.

Traveling solo on a budget in Guangzhou, this place was absolutely perfect. With both Line 10 and Zhongda Metro Station nearby, it was just a few stops to attractions like the Dafo Temple and Canton Tower. I spent my days exploring Wanda Plaza in Haizhu and my evenings enjoying the breeze and night views along Yanjiang Road. Having a Yonghui Supermarket right next door made it super convenient to grab instant noodles or fruit. The hostel beds have curtains, creating a cozy little private space, and the overall environment is great. The value for money is truly unbeatable!

The room was clean and tidy, but the minor details of cleanliness could be improved. There are many decent eateries on Xihua Road: 1. Zhen Wu Men (downstairs): Shrimp dumplings, Wanzai porridge, soy sauce steamed chicken feet (they often have discounts every time I visit). 2. Zhu Fen Mian: The beef rice noodles are pretty good, located by the hostel's riverside. 3. Cai Fu Mian Jia: Fresh shrimp wontons (good for those who aren't too picky). 4. Corinth: Sandwiches with both toasted and soft bread options, quite tasty. 5. Dong Fang Market: A bustling market with a wide variety of fresh, good-quality, and affordable fruits, vegetables, and seafood. You can really feel the vibrant local life of Guangzhou here. 6. Fo You Yuan Vegetarian Restaurant: If you enjoy vegetarian food, you can give it a try. I personally think it's quite good. 7. Xin Zhan Lao Hao Water Chestnut Powder: The water chestnut cake is slightly sweet. Worth trying if you haven't had it before. Recommended places that won't disappoint: 8. Shi Ying Wan Zai Chi (Dezheng Zhong Branch): The taste is decent, good for trying something new. 9. Da Yang Yuan Wei Dun Pin (Weming Road Branch): I've had it a few times. 10. Chang Le Bing Wu (Weming Branch): The Portuguese egg tarts are crispy and not overly sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. The recommendations are listed from nearest to furthest. Public transport and the metro are convenient. Hope everyone has a good experience!

I am deeply amazed on how comfy and good this hostel is. Located in Nantou Anicent town, so close to the entrance yet surrounded with unlimited shops, foods, museums, a bakery next door serving really unique cream bread, supporting local businesses. Upon stepping into my dorm room, I was greeted with a college like white blue vibe, decorated with art works from a girl, I love how it has its personal touch separating it from other hostel brands. It's one of a kind that is hard to find elsewhere. My favourite is the bed. It felt like home, so cozy yet so warm, blanket felt fleecy yet not too warm or cold. The pillow was chef kissed that I planned to buy when I get home, it had the shape of where the head should be laid inwards, while supporting the neck. The bed is so comfy firm yet not super soft and not too hard like brick. There is a ”stubborn” cabinet, a shelf to put your stuff on, 2 option of light: 1 to brighten the bed up and a nice warm night light. There is space for luggage under the bed, lockers comes with a lock and key which is such a good idea, so it's for sure a very safe locker. The metal net near the door is perfect for drying clothes with many hangers to use. They also gives a voucher sheet to use to support the local business nearby, can treat yourself with a hair cut or a massage. Bathroom. Sink area is so cute, shower room and toilet is together, feels a bit tight but still good. Near reception, you have free amenities to use. I wasn't very social enough so I didn't enter the other areas that has dining, laundry and the bar. Would recommend this place to other people and coming back when in Shenzhen.

The environment is beautiful, with an endless expanse of blue ocean right outside the window. The air is so fresh, and it really lifts your spirits! The room was clean, tidy, and cozy. Dining was convenient. After dinner, I hit the hotel gym, worked up a good sweat, and then came back to the room for a refreshing shower before falling into a deep, beautiful sleep!

The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the subway, which is quite convenient, and there are many delivery options nearby. First, I knew before booking that there were no gender restrictions for check-in, but I wasn't aware that rooms weren't separated by gender. I'm not sure how they allocate rooms, but personally, I felt uncomfortable seeing men in the hallways. Second, although there's an en-suite bathroom, the space is very small. Third, the facilities felt a bit dated; the curtains and bed curtains were very thin and let in a lot of light, and the window handle was broken, so the window couldn't be closed completely. Finally, and this isn't specific to this hostel, I was woken up several nights by roommates checking in late, which is a common issue in hostels.

As a solo traveler, I blindly booked the Amic Amy Girls' Hostel in Sea World, and it absolutely blew me away! This is hands down the best budget accommodation I've ever experienced. The location is incredibly convenient. The Shuikou subway station is just a few steps away, and it's a 10-minute walk to the Sea World commercial district, making exploring and dining super easy. The entire building is exclusively for women, with double-swipe card access for the main door and individual beds, and doors are locked at night, so solo female travelers feel incredibly safe. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness! Housekeeping regularly cleans the entire place, and there's absolutely no odor. Each bed has a thick blackout curtain, a bedside night light, multi-port chargers, and a huge under-bed storage locker. Once you're inside the curtain, it's your own private little nook. The bathrooms are dry-wet separated, and the shower rooms even have air conditioning, so no waiting in line. The separate vanity area has a huge mirror, perfect for photos and makeup, plus there's a washer and dryer, which means packing so much less for short trips! The common areas are decorated in a gentle and calming style, with fresh flowers everywhere. It's great for both quiet work and chatting with fellow travelers. The other guests were all considerate, keeping quiet late at night. The front desk staff were gentle and attentive, and the check-in explanation was incredibly patient. To find such a thoughtful and comfortable female-only hostel at this price point is amazing. Students and solo female travelers, don't hesitate to book this place. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Shekou!

The lighting was nice, just a bit dim. It was slightly less impressive than another place I stayed, but still good overall, offering great value for money. The bed wasn't very sturdy, and the cabinet was broken, so they moved me to a different bed. My roommate was friendly.

Stayed for a few days, it was very comfortable. My roommates were also very considerate. The photos are accurate; the landlord sent them to me directly, but they truly reflect the actual place. It's in the city center, and for this price and environment, it's much better than most hostels in Guangzhou. They provide disposable toothbrushes, shampoo, and body wash, and there are no restrictions on using the air conditioning. It's really great! 🌹🌹
