Location 1
Directly across from Imabari Port, 3 minutes? It was so wonderful.
The view of Imabari Castle from the room was great.
2. Service: Absolutely fantastic.
This was my first time seeing a place that offered unlimited candy and chocolates.
So, of course, they had bath products like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and razors, and they also had about 10 different bath bombs (if you bought them at a store, you'd have to pay at least 3,000 won each, but they provided 10 different types for free). It was amazing and fascinating.
3. Breakfast: The best.
Even if you pay out of pocket or pay extra, you absolutely must try this hotel's breakfast. They cook it right in front of you early in the morning—you can watch it being prepared.
Not only the Japanese set menu, but even the toast is truly top-notch.
Grilled sea bream is always served as a side dish, and it's even better than at a regular restaurant.
They also serve fantastic fried eggs, a uniquely Japanese half-moon shape—when you cut it open with a spoon, it's slightly soft-boiled and bursts with a burst of flavor.
If you're visiting Imabari, be sure to stay here.
Are there any guests? I wanted to eat breakfast and dinner - if you pay extra at the hotel, you don't have to go to an outside restaurant. You can have it served until 3 p.m.
There are no seats available during meal times, lol.
While there are a lot of people at the hotel, it's quiet.
I really, really recommend this hotel.
Oh, you can take the bus to Imabari Futo Station. I took the bus from Matsuyama to Imabari and back. The bus fare was 1,200 yen. ^^
The bus was really convenient and on time. It never arrived even a minute late.
The hotel lobby looked quite dated, and it was larger than typical Japanese hotels, giving off the vibe of a renovated old building. I booked a Japanese-style room to try out the tatami, and it was pretty good. The toilet and shower/bath were separate, and both were on the small side. Overall, the experience was positive, although the place felt a bit old.
Very helpful at checkin.
Our tandem-bike could be parked inside the hotel at the lobby.
The hotel is good for cyclists.
Standard bikes van be taken to the room where a device is mounted on the walk to hang the bike.
Excellent location, very near Dogo Onsen and Shopping Street. Just need go via elevator, which is exclusive for hotel guests and well-connected. Hotel onsen is also good for use, no need to go with the crowd at Dogo Onsen.
This is a hotel with history and stories. The Japanese emperor and the great Japanese writer Natsume have stayed here. The hotel service is good and they will help deliver the luggage to the room. Check-in is at 3pm. We arrived at noon and could only go to Dogo Onsen Street for a walk and wait until after 3pm to go back to the hotel to rest. The kaiseki cuisine for dinner at the hotel is good, and the steak is very tender. There are Western and Japanese breakfast options, and we chose Japanese breakfast. The hotel's hot springs are average, on the second and third floors of the South Building, and the third floor is a cypress hot spring. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station, which is quite close, but it is uphill from the station. We took a taxi from the hotel at Matsuyama City Station for 1,630 yen.
I use it once or twice a year. It's been a while since the COVID-19 pandemic, and this was my first time staying on the special floor. It's getting pretty old, so maybe it can't be helped, but I was bothered by the fact that the fabric on the upholstered sofa was worn out and you could see inside. Also, when I opened the curtains to look outside, the rubber on the window glass? It was disappointing that the gasket and the edge of the window frame were completely black with mold. The room and bathroom were nicely cleaned and comfortable, so I thought it was a shame. The people at the front desk and breakfast venue greeted me with a smile, so I had a pleasant stay. The breakfast was also delicious. I will use it again, so thank you.
Traveling with my teenage children, the town room was big and spacious, the single with double with 2 people would have been tight. We had two rooms, one twin room for triple use, and one double room for single use.
The place is brand new with a nice onsen on the top floor, awesome laundry machines for 600 yen per load
Breakfast was included.
Nice touch that they offer one free draft beer per person at arrival.
Great location to walk over for bike rental
Vessel Hotel Matsuyama is conveniently located right next to Takashimaya. A special thank you to Shibagaki at the front desk for her exceptional help, which significantly enhanced my positive impression of Vessel.
I booked two superior rooms a month in advance, and the room size was very comfortable. There's also a large public bath on the 3rd floor, featuring a hot spring and a semi-outdoor warm bath. In the lobby, time-limited self-service beverages and Ehime ice cream are available (ice cream from 7 PM to 9 PM), which were a big hit with the kids. The hotel breakfast was excellent; the DIY udon noodles and five different flavors of orange juice were particularly my children's favorites.
There were many Korean tourists at the hotel, but surprisingly few Chinese guests. The Ferris wheel on the 9th floor of the adjacent Takashimaya offers a discounted price of 500 JPY if you show your passport. Additionally, Takashimaya's B1 level has a Mini One bakery with freshly baked goods that's definitely worth a try.
The location is great, close to the shuttle bus stop and the Okaido shopping arcade, and it's clean. It's been a while since I traveled alone, so I got a private room, and it feels spacious. The bathroom has a bathtub, which is great for soaking and relaxing. The sink is in the bedroom, but if you wash your face, water splashes all over the wall, so it's best to just brush your teeth there. The bathroom is in a separate room.
There are additional switches for the room and hallway lights near the bed, so you don't have to worry about turning them off before bed. There's a small sofa and table inside, perfect for enjoying a tangerine or beer.
If you're planning an early start, consider including breakfast in the price. It's quite good. I thoroughly enjoyed the Matsuyama-style taimeshi here. The regular menu includes Japanese curry rice, cold udon, and tamagoyaki, which are all delicious, but the other side dishes change daily.
If I ever return to Matsuyama, this is a place I'll consider staying.
In conclusion, the location is fantastic, and the room is clean.
The room was spacious and clean, so I was very satisfied. The bath in the building (additional charge) was also great. It's a bit disappointing that you can't use it if you have a tattoo. The bar on the top floor was also great. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety and was delicious.

HHISATOThe location is very good. The Sakanoue Museum is right in front of the hotel, Matsuyama Castle is nearby, and the Mitsukoshi department store is next door. Okaido Station is also nearby, so it's convenient to go anywhere.
GGuest UserIf you're traveling with family, especially with your parents, this is a place I definitely recommend!! The size of the place is so huge that even if there's nothing nearby, just playing around inside the place is so much fun! The quality of the breakfast, dinner, and buffet is amazing... There's a massage shop, table tennis table, bar, and more, so there's nothing you can't find. The hot springs are amazing, and it was perfect to enjoy the hot springs while looking out at the forest. ㅠㅠ If I go to Matsuyama next time, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again!!
GGuest UserThe best central hotel you'll find. Fantastic value for money, the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. It's only a few streets away from a massive shopping district including restaurants, so you won't have to go far when you're hungry. There's a tram station very nearby so you can get to Dogo Onsen easily.
The internet in the room is a godsend. Most hotels skimp on the internet so you can only load one webpage an hour, and it makes looking up day trip ideas and booking things a huge pain. At this hotel I had no issues with it. This made it the best hotel for a 'home base' to plan day trips from.
Beware Google Maps getting here, it points you to the southern side of the block, the entrance to this hotel is on the northern side of the block.
YYanyu11The location is fantastic, right on the main street. You can take the airport bus directly to Mitsukoshimae. A taxi to the airport costs about 2500 yen. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, which is excellent. Express buses to places like Takamatsu leave right from the hotel entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants across the street. There's a Starbucks downstairs, and it's a maximum 10-minute walk to Saka no Ue no Kumo. The tram stop outside the hotel can take you to Dogo Onsen.
AayutripA Perfect Business Hotel! The rooms are new, clean, and compact but very functional. The bathroom was spotless and shiny. Personally, I really liked the library café in the lobby — a cozy space available to hotel guests even before check-in and after check-out. It offers free drinks, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. Breakfast had a limited selection, but everything was delicious.

Great location to walk over for bike rental
GGuest UserWe wanted to experience Dogo Onsen and this was a great choice (albeit expensive because it was a holiday weekend). The hotel is lovely and the service is beyond excellent. The staff was super kind as we are English speakers. Plus, we really enjoyed the hotels onsens better than the ones in town (the Dogo Onsen is being renovated and only one room was open for each gender; the same was the case with the Annex). The hotels onsens were lovely and the private outdoor onsen was a really lovely experience. We also took advantage of their convenient bus service into town although it’s only a 10 minute walk and we walked multiple times. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserExcellent location, very near Dogo Onsen and Shopping Street. Just need go via elevator, which is exclusive for hotel guests and well-connected. Hotel onsen is also good for use, no need to go with the crowd at Dogo Onsen.
DDora DaviesNear the Dōgo onsen and it only takes 5 mins walk to the train station Dogo Onsen, it’s not a new hotel but the things are clean and the environment is good. The nearby area is famous.
