We have stayed several times at the imperial, this time we upgraded to a double bed suite with sea view at a cost of £160 on a two night stay. Sadly the suite (Churchill Suite) didn’t meet expectations. In very urgent need of repair and decoration, windows in lounge area filled with silicone with huge gaps and letting cold in. Supposed to be able to open but all siliconed together. The quadrant shower leaked onto the floor from the tray and waste. We removed the wast cap to see if that helped, sadly it just revealed a disgusting black gunge inside the waste that had not been cleaned for a long time. Didn’t use the drawers in the bedroom, not clean. General cleanliness will be difficult to achieve due to the delapadated state of the suite as a whole including fixtures and fittings. I think Mr Churchill who resides in many picture forms on the walls within the suite would be most upset with the conditions. Even the window drapes had fittings missing making it difficult to close curtains. On a positive note, the breakfast is excellent, I hope that things can be improved at the imperial and we will hope to hear about any planned updates to this 4**** hotel so that once again we can enjoy a break there?
Fair & Honest.
Negatives - 1) room (single with double bed) too small.
2) bar staff (gent) too cocky let the team down
3) no comeback when they checked my room out for cigarette smoke (from designated outside smoking area).
Positives -1) entertainment 1st class 2) all staff have obviously been well trained on how to respect customers. 3) very friendly holiday makers hotel 4) location
Overall, it was an amazing experience, aside from a few minor issues.
**Positive:**
1. The location was good, although it was a short walk from town. However, there is a tram service that runs every 10 minutes, and the cost was £12 per day for three people, which provided unlimited travel for the whole day.
2. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of options to choose from.
3. The hotel environment was pleasant, featuring a nice reception and lobby area.
4. The room included a safe where you could store valuable items like your laptop and tablet for extra protection.
**Negatives:**
1. Our toilet bin was not emptied after cleaning, and they forgot to replace the extra tissue roll in the bathroom, which was inconvenient.
2. There were no slippers or facial tissues provided in the room.
3. The bar was very quiet, and we were so bored that we didn't visit again.
Stayed at the Barton Manor hotel and spa with my daughter….we had a wonderful time….from arriving to leaving the staff can’t do enough for you…the breakfast is really nice…we did not book into the restaurant for evening meal, but I was told by other guests…that the restaurant food was delicious.
We will definitely be going back .
last Visit to this Hotel was 45 years ago, some modernisation including new carpets nice touch, warm greetings from some staff, some just ignoor you , Had Breakfast one day was overpriced at £12 the lady runing the restaurnant was brilliant , kept an eye on everything topping up what needed to be topped up , problem with lift not going to all floors they say its due to waiting for a part, I visited a Liverpool Britannia Hotel they made same excuse for years, just get it sorted .
On the trip website it says Breakfast between 7 and 9 , its now 8 and 10, also said No Children, after noticing some I asked at reception, they said that was only for a year a while ago .
When booking I did ask as bein g a big person, could I have a Shower or Access room , it doid say only of available , but nothing done or said when booking, It was nice to visit the place again but sadly there are better hotels in Blackpool not much more money, so guess wont be Visiting again for anoher 45 years, some guets I spoke to hd to see 3 or 4rooms to find one that was clean and suitable
The Hotel located right next to the Railway Station was a brilliant factor in our booking this Hotel,
Within minutes we were booking in at a very friendly reception the whole thing took only a few minutes
The room was great very clean and airy, the walk walk in shower /wet room was brilliant.
Breakfast was great good selection of food and drinks supported by very friendly staff could not ask for more
We will be going back again, every thing we needed for our shot 3 night stay .
We had two rooms booked. 1 room was with elederly parents! The room given was a fair walk and was quite far from the reception area with no assistance only verbal directions. It would've been nice to have had some assistance from staff.
When we got to the room the sink plughole was blocked so I rang reception to get it fixed, didn't happen! Questioned reception duty staff and he lied and he said he had it fixed by maintenance when no one even came to look at it! This isn't the service we expected from ‘Mercure’ standard.
Leaning over the bath to brush our teeth and everytime we needed to wash our hands after using the toilet we had to use the bathtub.
Not sure I read anywhere but to use the swimming facilities the adults have to pay £10 fee. Other than that the hotel is near local shops/motorway as well.
We stayed over for a night - late check in and out. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. We have 2 children, a 4 years old and a 5 months old. We arrived quite late and so were the last table in the restaurant for dinner as well as the last to join the breakfast. However, the staff made sure we have all we needed and tried their best to help us. Impressive service and a pleasant stay. We will definitely come back to this hotel in the next visit to Lancaster.
Very good location, next to the junction of M6 and M65, a prefect midpoint of driving from South to North. The hotel is large and full of space. The room is clean and big, and necessities are all equipped. Shampoo and body bath are Doves, and teabag is Twinning, which is quite unexpected for a roadside hotel. Breakfast is nice. It is beyond our expectations at this cheap price.
Fabulous stay at the Best Western Carlton in Blackpool. The staff could not have done more to help, and the lady on the front desk was so friendly and chatty. They helped immediately when they realised I had a pram, toddler and 2 bags and was alone - even changing our room to make things easier. Lovely people!
Only downside was the thin walls, meaning we could hear every word of the 4am argument in the room next door!!

AAnonymous UserRestaurant cannot cope with large groups !!
Cereal but no milk, no fruit, rubber eggs, sour tasting sausages, coffee Machine no milk, no porridge, table staff too slow to reinstate used tables.
Bar closed at 2100hrs.
Took a short walk down to Imperial hotel for a drink.
TV set playing up, cannot change channels
GGuest UserWas fine up until me and my partner came back from a gig, around 22:45, and found ourselves fully locked out for a good 20 minutes, had to have the security officer from next door to call the worker at the President to open the door. Nothing, not so much as an apology, for leaving us out in the cold.
GGuest Useromg from the moment I walked in i was attended to nothing was to much trouble i had a sea view double room there was a act on downstairs very loud was worried about the house but never heard a thing the decor is a bit dated but the friendliness of the staff and yhe feel of the hotel made up for that I had a fantastic stay it does just what it says on the tin I will definitely be goung back
GGuest UserWas happy with our stay at the hotel
I did not except the plenty of food we were offered
Was so delicious

But l would love to go again
I really enjoyed the food
Had variety and you would until you are full
Thank you and keep it up
GGuest UserA stay to remember… for better and worse
I’ll start with the highlight: the staff at Blue Waters Hotel were absolutely exceptional. Warm, helpful, and genuinely friendly—they made me feel like I’d wandered into a live episode of Fawlty Towers, minus the chaos. Their charm and effort were the saving grace of my stay.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is in serious need of TLC. My room’s curtains detached dramatically and collapsed to the floor, leaving my window fully exposed to the car park and main street. Not ideal—especially with a rather sad pile of rubbish lingering in the corner outside.
The leisure facilities didn’t fare much better. The pool was cloudy and didn’t feel well maintained, and the sauna was out of order during my visit. A shame, as I’d been looking forward to a relaxing dip.
Dinner was, frankly, disappointing. We ordered roasted pork, which arrived cold, and the vegetables were so overcooked they seemed to have time-traveled from the previous night’s menu. Breakfast offered a decent variety, but the quality was just about passable.
In short: brilliant staff, but the hotel itself needs a refresh—both in decor and dining. If you’re coming for the laughs and location, you might enjoy it. If you’re after comfort and cuisine, you may want to look elsewhere.
