Dalmeny Park House Hotel
4.5/580 Reviews
Had a really nice overnight stay at Dalmeny Park recently. It got off to a great start because we were able to sit in the patio area and enjoy a few hours of rare Scottish sunshine 🌞 I must add that our check in was handled professionally and smoothly by Andrew who checked us in on a previous visit. We were staying in The Kintyre Suite which is probably one of the top rooms in the Hotel. It had everything you needed really and was immaculately kept. It also had a beautiful view over the outside wedding venue. Our 2 course dinner at night was very nice. It was there we met Lynne who was the restaurant front of house. She kept things flowing well, as the restaurant was quite busy and there was also a wedding on. Next morning at breakfast we were served by Norma. Again someone we met the last time and she made us laugh as well as tending to our breakfast order. Dalmeny Park is one of our favourite hotels in the Rad Group to stay or dine at. We’ll certainly be doing one or the other in the near future.

This hotel is stunning. My room was amazing, spotless and you can see how hard the house keeping team work. Breakfast was good. What let the place down was the service. My arrival at reception was greeted with are you checking in, no smile or good evening. I didn’t have dinner in the restaurant so cannot comment on that. I did however go to the bar at night for a drink. No member of staff to be seen at the bar, baring in mind I walked past 2 staff members clearing up in the restaurant as I walked through to the bar. Stood waiting for ages, staff member came walked right past me and went through the back, no acknowledgment. Eventually a female came and asked can I help, no apology for keeping me waiting. I got my drink and returned to my room. Staff in the morning also not friendly or pleasant, a good morning goes a long way. But one member saved them from only being given 3 stars. Ruth, head of house keeping I believe, she is wasted in this role. Although you can see how hard she works. She was the only staff member to smile, have a chat with me, asked if I liked my room etc. Her customer service standards are excellent, such a lovely, friendly and genuine person. Even her colleague greeted me with a smile and a good morning, you can tell this comes from the example Ruth has set. Front of house, bar and restaurant staff could learn a lot from Ruth. I’ve stayed in many hotels due to work and what always makes a difference is the staff. Unfortunately The Redhurst are let down by their poor staff interactions, all except for Ruth and her hard working team. She really is a star! (Apologies for keeping you back from your work, but you were a pleasure to talk to Ruth, thank you)

Nice enough hotel lovely room & bathroom comfortable bed…we were B&B we ate in the St Michaels restaurant & there was a singer on she was good ( there was another part of the restaurant you could eat in if you wanted to hear her sing but was a bit quieter) created a wee bit of atmosphere to the restaurant) My husband had the cheeseburger which he said was ok I opted for the Breaded haddock & chips…when it came out it was 3 small pieces of which looked liked breaded goldfish..They did not look very appetising ( we did complain & they kindly asked if I wanted anything else I did not & they also removed the price from the bill…It really looked like a kids meal to be perfectly honest…when we checked out the following morning even the lady of reception agreed with us & said she will remove the charge & feedback to the restaurant..the breakfast was very good & we bought enjoyed it…The leisure facilities were ok nothing special ( was particularly busy with members so best to avoid a Friday afternoon if you can )
