Muthu Oban Regent Hotel- Refurbished
3.7/555 Reviews
the stay was decent. What stands out from all the similar properties is really really really good bed (double bed turned out to more of a superking), nice size tv (50+ inch), sockets with USB are a bonus. interior design is subjective to taste but its not my priority at this price. I guess one can highlight fresh furniture. Bathroom: Clean shower, standard number of towels and shower mat, hair drier, heated towel rack, shampoo/soap/body lotion and soap bar. Waiting staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast: the breakfast is usual full Scottish breakfast variety buffet, (fried eggs, black pudding, hashbrowns, scones, sausages, bacon, beans) with plenty condiments available as well as 3 types of toast, couple of cheeses and hams, fruit salad, yoghurts, various sweet pastries. Full set of teas, jams honeys etc, but coffee could be a little better, but again cannot complaint at price. The hotel it is definitely underrated. While some things around hotel are a little flimzy, dusty, it is very decent value. it all fades away when you realise how nice it is to have a fresh large bed and that it is basically minutes away from ferry terminal. Great views are come as a big bonus. Note for parking: very limited, but you can park at council carpark not far away at reasonable cost.
Arrochar Hotel 'a Bespoke Hotel'

Stayed for one night in a twin lake view room with en-suite. The view is worth it. Staff were friendly, room was clean, easy to check in and out. Location was easily signposted and parking available. 5/10min walk to a few local chip shop a bar and shops if needed as well as access to the bar and restaurant on site. We stayed on a Sunday in June which was quiet. The building is an older building so very creaky but that is very much part of the charm. Tea/coffee and kettle provided in room as well as a small Scottish cookie treat. Perfect stop off for further travel north or any other situation. Would definitely book again.
Glenview Guest House

I come to Oban each year to ‘escape to the Highlands’. I always stay at Glen view as Morwan is so kind and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, especially the bed and the breakfast is always hot and cooked to order. It’s only a ten minute walk to the ferry port and station, and five minutes to the car hire place so the location is ideal. I always book well in advance, especially for longer periods as I always prefer a single room en-suite. I would always stay at Glenview and hope to again next year. I always visit Mull, Iona and Glencoe so stay at Glenview as I can do everything from there.
Stonefield Castle Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’
4.4/596 Reviews
This is the most stunning place I've ever stayed. The room was nothing special, comfortable and well equipped with a good hairdryer. The views though. The dining room is an elevated glass-fronted platform looking out over trees, the gardens and loch and is spectacular, especially just now as the trees are changing colour. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and if you like seafood I'd recommend the Loch Fyne platter. The lobster mac cheese also went down well. The gardens and walks were good, with some amazing trees. The hotel has its own little island to walk round, with some enormous rocks and stony beaches. I'd definitely stay here again.
The Glenburn Hotel

Originally from Rothesay but moved away as a toddler I have always wanted to stay at this large iconic hotel on the seafront. Having read previous reviews I did expect to find it a little run down and indeed in some places it was. My double room was fine with a comfortable bed and great pillows. The Victorian dining room was lovely and had a great atmosphere with great views over the Kyles and the beautiful bay. I booked the half board option and very pleased I did as the food was delicious. Evening dining options in the town are somewhat limited so I recommend this option, you have up to £25 to spend and this did cover 2 courses. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Riva Boutique Hotel

From our arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by all staff and we were a bit early for check in but as our rooms were ready it was not a problem and we were allowed access . Some of the rooms are not spacious as it is a small hotel but recently refurbished with nice furnishings and beautiful walk in showers . We had booked for a meal at 6pm as it was part of the package, there was a good choice , the food was lovely and generous portions . While dining the manager Gary came to chat about our 5pm booking and the fact the company had just gone bust but to reassure us that they would honour our vouchers and they would take the £300 hit . So all in all we had a very pleasant experience at this hotel .
Muthu Alexandra Hotel

All the front desk personnel are the best asset this hotel has. The place could do with an update of their appliances and furniture in their rooms. Soft furnishings are ok. The cleanliness could be a bit better. They lent me slippers so I could use the steam room and it was a great addition to my stay. Overall I give the place a 3/5.
The Great Western Hotel
3.3/5106 Reviews
Ignore all the negative reviews about the hotel. Yes , the premises is showing it's age but it won't detract from your comfort or enjoyment of your stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , the room was clean and spacious and was a pleasant change from the sterility of a Premier Inn. The view of the Oban harbour and sea was spectacular. The food was as good quality as any hotel I've stayed in and the dining room was oozing period charm. I will definitely be returning.
SeaBeds - Luxury Lookouts with Hot Tubs

Bad customer service. The staff are not helpful. They didn't arrange for us the taxi and we didn't find any taxi so we went to the hotel next to it and they helped us to arrange a taxi. Even i were not willing to help us with our luggage as the place is so too big and you need to talk through the garden. I asked them to help us with our luggage and they said we would see if we could help!!! .. for a luxury place like this , this is not acceptable at all. Moreover, there were no restaurants in the place so we went to the next hotel restaurant as well. The last thing, the breakfast was very basic (no eggs even) which was not meeting our expectations. For the money paid i think its not worth it.
Rosslea Hall Hotel

We highly recommend Rosslea for a stay. Good value, friendly and interesting staff who are happy to sort anything you need. Would definitely stay again. Also a good location to pop into Glasgow but still be in the country.
