Clean and hygienic. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. It's right next to the train station, making transportation incredibly convenient. You can also take bus 20 for about 15 minutes to reach the Old Town, which is perfect for exploring and visiting the castle. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is very new and spotlessly clean. Highly, highly recommend! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Take the U9 from Stuttgart Train Station, and you will arrive at the hotel in three stops. It is 100 meters away from the hotel entrance. It is small, but clean and tidy. It is very convenient to travel. It takes 15 minutes to walk to the Royal Palace Square. It is very good! The price is cheap! You still have to use Ctrip, never Airbnb. The money is deducted and the quality is not guaranteed. I originally booked 12 nights on it and stayed for one night, but I ran away. The landlord had a bad attitude and the money has not been refunded yet! I used booking again this time. Compared with Airbnb, Ctrip is the most reliable

The location is in the city center, right next to the train station and a shopping mall, perfect for exploring the area on a weekend. It's also not far from the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the TV Tower. The only minor issue was that the underground parking was full, making it a bit difficult to find a spot, but everything else was great!

To go to shopping area, can take bus 44 frm the bus stop (in the photo). Bus come ard 8 -10mins. Bus ticket can buy from the app (we consulted CHATGPT for this info!!)
My room has a washing machine in the apartment so its convenient no need to go to a central facility. Sauna is useful for cold days!
No complaints frm me. From Stuttgart HBf, need tonwalk ard 10min, a few slopes (incline) bt have seating/resting area if you want.

Great location! It's a five-minute walk to Aldi, and another five-minute walk to a pedestrian shopping and food street. The hotel has a dedicated paid parking lot, and the surrounding area is quiet, making it suitable for those driving.

The hotel is relatively new, clean and tidy, with rich breakfast food. There is a big supermarket behind the hotel, and there is a big park not far from the hotel, where you can go for a stroll or jog on weekends.
The only thing is that the check-in is in the afternoon. I took an early flight to Stuttgart and wanted to rest in the hotel. I had to pay an extra 15 euros to check in at 12 noon!

Typical business hotels are simple, clean, and tidy. The only inconvenience is the lack of hot water; you have to ask the front desk for a kettle to boil water. Coffee is also available from the coffee machine in the lobby, which is a bit of a hassle. Overall, German hotels are quite good.

The lobby immediately gave me a great impression – spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated – and the staff at the reception greeted me with genuine smiles and efficiency, making the check-in process smooth and quick.
The room I stayed in was exceptionally comfortable. It was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with everything I needed, from a cozy bed with crisp linens to a well-stocked minibar, a flat-screen TV, and reliable Wi-Fi. The bathroom was another highlight: clean, modern, and fitted with high-quality amenities. One small detail I appreciated was how quiet the room was; I could truly relax without any disturbance from outside noise.
The service throughout my stay was outstanding. Every member of the staff, from housekeeping to the concierge, went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and taken care of. They were always polite, attentive, and ready to help with any request, whether it was arranging transportation, recommending local restaurants, or providing extra towels within minutes.
The hotel’s location was another big plus. GGuest UserAll in all, not a terrible stay. When we first got there to check in the front desk was closed even though it was 5pm and check in was until 10, and the automatic check in machine was broken with a note on it to pick up our room keys at the hotel across the street. We went there and they had no idea what we were talking about so we had to carry our luggage back across the street after contacting trip.com who replied IMMEDIATELY (thank you guys so much your customer service is incredible!) we got the number to call the hotel after hours and it turns out they forgot to leave our keys so they sent someone back over to let us into our room. We got into our room and it wasn’t the room we booked, it was a room in the attic that on one side I couldn’t even stand up without hitting my head (I’m 5”3) but it had AC and it was a place to rest our heads so it could wait until morning. The next day when we came down we mentioned the room error and the look the first guy gave me was full of contempt, so his customer service was awful. I know I don’t look like a conventional woman with my hair and tattoos and I understand different cultures can collide but that’s fine, though when the manager came to talk to my fiancé his attitude perked up a bit and he found a smile. They got us in the correct room and this room was a normal size but the ac unit for that room is a portable roll about one that the hose wasn’t sticking out the window with the netting correctly and they tried to come fix it (duct tape) but then the hose broke but my fiancé found a way to shove it out the window and it took awhile to get the room cooled down but then it was great. After that the rest of the trip went well, the woman with the copper/red hair was super nice and overall we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was a really good breakfast and the hotel is in a great location with secure parking. Check out Lino’s around the corner for fantastic drinks and the döner place downstairs is killer.
It’s most important that most Germans don’t approve of AC so keep that in mind if that’s important to you that you double verify where you book. All the trouble aside we would definitely stay here again, just don’t count on the blow dryer in the room or the AC to work and room service may need to be requested multiple times.

However, I had a hard time sleeping because my body itched, whether it was the bedding or the carpeting. There weren't any bugs, but I think it was the dust. Other than that, the view was great, and the staff was friendly!

AAng_ieThe highlight of our stay at Bad Hotel Überlingen was definitely the spa area. It felt very new, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The sauna resting area, in particular, stood out—it connects directly to a garden, and from there you have a beautiful view over Lake Constance. Stepping outside for fresh air between sauna sessions, with that view in front of you, was genuinely relaxing.
The gym, on the other hand, felt a bit disappointing. It’s quite small, and strangely, there were no weights available. It seemed like all the equipment was locked away in a physio or personal training room, which made the space feel incomplete for anyone wanting a proper workout.
Breakfast was a much more positive experience. The selection was excellent, easily better than what I’ve come across in most German hotels. Everything was well presented, and the refilling was always timely, so nothing ever felt empty or neglected. That said, the service was a little inconsistent. One staff member—a dark hair runner in the restaurant—handled a small issue with a pepper grinder poorly, initially dismissing the concern instead of checking it. Thankfully, another server stepped in quickly and resolved the situation before it escalated further.
Parking is available either at the hotel or at the car park across the street, both at €17 per day, which is straightforward but something to factor in.
What really ties everything together is the location. The surroundings are beautiful—the lakefront promenade is just there, perfect for a walk, and there’s a nearby park with a charming tower that adds to the scenery. The Bodensee-Therme Überlingen is also just around the corner, making it easy to extend that spa-like feeling beyond the hotel itself.
In the end, Bad Hotel Überlingen is a place where the setting and spa experience really shine, even if a few details—like the gym setup and some service moments—don’t quite match the overall potential. This is one of the very few hotel I would love to stay over again.

The service employee at reception was extremely helpful and sorted everything out within a short time. We would be happy to come back.

SSUSAN TOMIf we could give this hotel a review of 10/5 we would. We stayed for an extended time (16 days) and during that time we experienced the best and friendliest service.
The reception staff was always friendly and cheerful. Everyone was ready to help with any question we had.
Breakfast was amazing. The selection was terrific. And every morning we were greeted by the pleasant and happy staff. One staff member told me she loves her job. Who doesn't want to stay in a hotel where the staff love working? Several days my mother who travelled with me was ill and the staff made it so easy for me to take breakfast to her in the room.
The room was terrific. We requested the accessible room and were not disappointed. Despite Ettlingen not being the most wheelchair friendly, Stadthotel Engel had every accessibility need addressed. The front entrance has no stairs. They have an elevator that stops at the breakfast room level. The bathroom in our room was wheelchair friendly with a raised toilet, fully accessible shower, and vanity that could accommodate a wheelchair underneath. We did not have a wheelchair but my mother has a walker which requires many of the same accommodations. The room has air conditioning for those who are concerned about that.
The location is amazing. From the hotel you are directly in the old city and can walk to many stores, cafes, and restaurants. The hotel entrance is located in an inside court area where there are tables that can be enjoyed during the nice weather.
