Hotels With Bar in Gangwon State, South Korea

We booked two rooms and the front desk gave us a corner sea-view room. The layout was a bit different and very spacious, and the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel is located on Gyeongpo Beach, which is the most beautiful beach in Gangneung. There's an infinity pool on the rooftop with ocean views, and you can find the famous Chodang soft tofu nearby. It's also not far from Anmok Coffee Street. You can take a taxi to Jumunjin to see the Goblin filming location and the BTS bus stop. Right across from the Goblin spot is a famous soft tofu ice cream shop with beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea. Overall, Gangneung doesn't feel that big, and it's quite convenient to get to the attractions by taxi.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean, which was nice. I stayed in a suite, and with three beds, I had a comfortable stay with my friends. It seems like stylers are a must-have in hotels these days, and they really helped me out. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Wonju!

When I go to visit my son's military, I can go out for 2 days and 1 night, so I booked a family room, but there is no space to move except for a double bed for 4 people to sleep in. The space is like putting 2 double beds in a 2-person motel. You can use the gym as a facility for a fee, but the cleaning is not only on the counter, but also on the equipment, so dust is no joke. I thought I could die from working out. There is no one to manage it, and I made a claim to the hotel, saying that they outsource it to an outside company and that they do not manage it. Don't go to the gym.

The Sokcho Cassia Hotel, which we visited for our wedding anniversary trip, was located in Daepo Port, and we could see both the port and the sea from the veranda of the accommodation. It was on the 25th floor, and when we went in, there was a slight musty smell from the bathroom shower room, so we took off one star for cleanliness! The breakfast here was 66,000 won, which was expensive compared to other accommodations, so we had high expectations, but there weren't many options for the price. Weekends are divided into three parts, and you can choose on a first-come, first-served basis when you check in. I think the checkout time was 11:00, but we checked out right after 8:00 after the first part of the breakfast to avoid traffic.

Wow! It felt like time travel back to the last century in the UK, the moment you step into the hotel lobby, which is full of nostalgic British decorations. The restaurant, especially, is like a royal family gallery with photos of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Prince William, and other royals covering the walls. Each floor features a unique theme dedicated to various public figures, including presidents, diplomats, sports stars, movie stars, singers, and actors. The hallways are decorated with photos and memorabilia, making every walk a discovery. The location is very close to the entrance of Seorak Mountain National Park, within a 7-10 minute walk. My double bedroom is lovely with a nice view of greenery. The only downside and a major issue to me is that no AC at night, which is not mentioned in the hotel’s description. The staff explained that the AC is centrally controlled and is turned off at night because they assume it’s cool enough. They can only give me a fan. I had both dinner and buffet breakfast at the hotel, and they were all good, and all the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were very nice and friendly as well.

Super value for money. No complaints. Parking is valet with no extra to pay. DIY laundry keeps all clothes dry and cleaned for multiple days of exploration in beautiful Gangneung! Staff recommended good eating places for grilled pork and beef. Don’t miss the gimbaps!

Dignity Hotel is located right next to the ocean, so for sea-loving folks, this is the place for you! Naksan Temple is 20mins away, but the beautiful ocean will keep you occupied while you stroll over. Room-wise, the room is very spacious, with a large walk in dressing room and a lounging area. It is also very quiet at night (it is the countryside after all!) and you will be guaranteed a good rest. Amenities around the areas are sparse as it is still low-season (for instance, the nearest well-stocked convenience store is 20 mins away). So I recommend to purchasing the morning buffet at the hotel restaurant so you wouldn’t go hungry in the mornings while thinking about where to explore. Regardless, I expect the area to be much more accessible during the high-season of summer, so plan accordingly! All in all, if I return to Yangyang, Dignity Hotel will be my first choice in selecting a place to stay. I had a wonderful time there.

The room upkeep was impressive. We were two people, and there were plenty of towels provided, all neatly maintained, so we had no discomfort whatsoever using them. It's a small detail, but I felt it truly showed the hotel's level of management. Another great aspect was the in-room beverage service. Whenever we requested bottled water, it was continuously provided without any shortage, and various drinks and beers in the minibar and fridge were also complimentary. This significantly enhanced our convenience while relaxing in the room. When I first booked, I thought the hotel's location might be a bit far from Gangmun Beach, Anmok, and Songjeong Beach. However, walking there, the perceived distance was not as burdensome as I had imagined. If you take your time, stopping to enjoy the sea views and take photos, it took approximately: ° 30-40 minutes to Gangmun Beach, ° 20-30 minutes to Songjeong and Anmok Beach. It felt like just the right distance to leisurely walk, stopping to admire the sea along the way. So, ultimately, the location wasn't much of an inconvenience, and I even thought it could be an advantage for those looking for a quiet stay. Overall, the hotel offered high satisfaction in many aspects, including service quality, room maintenance, room service, and complimentary beverages. It's a highly recommended place if you want to relax quietly in Gangneung and enjoy the sea. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

It's quite a distance, so if you're coming on your own, you'll need to take a taxi. It costs about 25,000 won each way. The breakfast spread is huge, but there are no restaurants around the hotel at night, only within the resort itself. There isn't even a casual spot to grab a drink.

Nice clean hotel across from a nice beach for surfing. I was initially disappointed to find the hotel was across a very busy road from the beach, but the hotel itself is quiet and the rooftop in the morning was a great way to take in the sunset. I might not book here again because of the busy road but the hotel is nice.
