"This big mansion is definitely a big surprise in the journey. The owner of 78 years old did everything by himself. He raised horses at home. He pulled out and said that riding horses can ride 24 miles is his home territory for us to try. He bought this big house 10 years ago and spent three years renovating it. It is made into a family hotel. The house is newly renovated. There is no old house. The old house is very soundproof and there is no thick floor sound. To be honest, this big mansion is a bit sorry for him. This is a castle mansion, a very rare experience. I sent a lot of pictures, it is really beautiful."
GGuest UserMy partner and I stayed for one night bed and breakfast. On arrival we were not asked for identification, which surprised us, but wasn’t a problem for us either. The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. There was a good selection of teas, coffee with kettle, and a couple of ginger biscuits. There was also a mini fridge, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. The shower looked new and was excellent as used in the morning. The plug on the sink didn’t work so had to leave the tap running when shaving but again it wasn’t a problem. The breakfast consisted of continental and cooked and this was excellent also. Overall we would recommend staying here as it’s a great central location with excellent facilities.
GGuest UserHotel in need of updating . Very tired, water stains on ceiling etc. Toilet paper locked in plastic boxes in bathroom practicaly impossible to get out. Shower gel attached to wall very high up . Couldnt get froth from soap felt like dishwash liquid.
Breakfast cereal cheap, sausages tasted of nothing disgusting No potato scones or black pudding.
Need to book in advance for dinner. We arrived at 830 pm and couldnt get anything to eat locally so no dinner for us. Bar shuts 10.30 pm everynight.
Staff very pleasant but obviously fighting a loosing battle with what could be beautiful outstanding hotel but sadly disapointing.
Rrockylee1. This hotel is close to Tesco in Elgin. The location is actually very good. It is also very close to High Street. It is far from the church site, but it is still within walking distance.
2. The hotel was on the old site of a manor. When I first drove into the yard door, I was a little surprised. The environment was very good. The room is also very big and the bed is very classical. Facilities and software are very good.
3. Breakfast is a traditional English breakfast, the yard is large, very convenient for parking.
4. It is very convenient to drive to Spezai and other areas. I think it is more convenient to live in Elgin than in Dufftown.
Ssalvalasilvia The hotel staff is very nice and friendly, they helped us carry our bags to the room (there’s no lift, so it was highly appreciated). The room was spacious enough, with a big bathroom.
Unfortunately there’s no luggage rack, just the chairs. It’s not the best if you have big or small trolleys.
The breakfast was good, you can choose if you want to eat at the restaurant or in the room or if you’re in a hurry you can ask for a take away, nice options.
GGuest UserGood restaurant and easy to check in. Almost slip and felt, floor was completely wet in the morning while going to breakfast, no wet floor sign or anything. It could have gone really bad if i slip and felt on that morning. Could not imagine!
LLaura.hThe hotel is perfectly located, the beach is on the other side of the road, the sea and the seaside walk is a beautiful surprise. The hotel is very good, the restaurants are delicious, the staff is adorable.
