The World Financial Center is a famous landmark in the lower Manhattan district of New York City. It is located on West Street and adjacent to the World Trade Center site, facing the Hudson River. It is a very famous building complex. The main tenants of the building include Merrill Lynch and American Express, a major financial institution. The building was designed by American architect César Pelli in conjunction with Adamson Associates. The entire project was built by OlympiaandYork Property Development Company from 1985 to 1988. During the construction process, the entire Fort Park City was filled with the silt dug up during the construction of the World Trade Center in the 1960s, and then the World Financial Center was built on the original site. The building complex was partially damaged in 9/11, and most of it has now been rebuilt. One part of the building, the Winter Garden, was severely damaged by the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and a major restoration project was completed in May 2002. The Winter Garden is an open-air garden located on the 10th floor of the Financial Center. It not only includes a large public space with many shops and restaurants, but also an amazing outdoor waterfront area. Visiting Winter Garden, you will be blown away by its 120-foot-high enclosed glass atrium and high-end atmospheric marble steps, and the view of the Hudson River from the outdoor plaza can also be fascinated.
