#taipei The Wu Feng Qi waterfall is located in Jiaoxix a hotspring town. The Wufengqi Falls are named as there are five sharp peaks that stand in a row behind the falls, which look like five triangular banners that usually hang down the back of the war generals costume. Break into different layers, and we are able to view and admire the fall at the destination viewing points. this fall is easily accessible from Jaioxi Station by taking the tourist green shuttle bus

#taipei a pretty sight of the Lanyang museum, from far and near. This museum is located next to Wushigang Harbor where one can learn about the history, culture, landscape, and natural beauty of Yilan. The architecture of the musuem was inspired by natural elements found locally such as the cuesta, a rock-form commonly found along the northeast coast of Taiwan. you have to pay to visit and view the exhibitions but entry to the building to admire the architecture is free of charge+

#taipei Yilan is really a city that promotes art in its own way. you will always find some art along the street as you roam aimlessly around. even the bookstore create some art scene where its not the normal meat and tidy arranged books in shelves. there are colourful statues around, promoting a vibrant arty city. you will never get bored in Yilan. why not, start a treasure hunt with your friends to see who can find the most art pieces in Yilan.

#taipei the Yilan train station is an art icon in and for Yilan. we are greeted by the art piece once we stepped out of the station. it is very different from other train stations. it is unique and colourful which serves as a main tourist attraction. When you go out from the station, you can find this information center on your left. Jimmy Liao Park is just opposite the station and there's where we start our exploration of Yilan.

#taipei Tofu Cape is a small bay located in Nanfang ao, which is easily accessible by train or bus from Yilan. It was given the name as due to its Tofu shaped geological formations. There is a coastal hiking trail which was perfect for watching the sunrise, which we really enjoyed. we saw people doing kayaking on our day of visit. Guess we would be back to try out some water sports soon.

Owners are very friendly. #wecreate Yilan is a city that actively promotes local artists and local art Yilan Musuem of Art is located in the building which was formerly the Bank of Taiwan Yilan Branch. A very simple art museum, it gives great vibes for visitors to appreciate local arts done y local artists. when we were there, it was promoting arts od the local female artists. do nite that there is a 50 twd entrance fee. The museum is located near Luna Plaza which you can shop after soaking in the art world.

we visited Red Lantern restaurant at Silk Place Yilan on the country holiday, and we were told that we needed to order a set menu for 4 even though there were only 3 of us. it's really a very filling but delicious meal (you can takeaway the leftover food). the best dishes we would recommend - 1. Roasted duck nigiri (櫻桃鴨握壽司) - take a bite and the oil got squeezed out of the crispy duck skin, which got soaked up by the rice. the grilled cheese in the mddle added a savoury flavour to it. a unique dish that we had yet tried before. 2. Double-boiled duck bone soup with Chinese cabbage - indeed a flavourful boiled soup that is thick and tasty. 3. Sliced duck meat and skin wrapped in a light scallion crep - the creps were made with the greens of the local Sanshing spring onions (三星蔥) which does not taste "vege" at all. a very light dish, amongst the other more intense flavour dishes, makes it stand out. an expensive set menu, but you get to try out the different cooking methods using the same duck. address 260, Taiwan, Yilan County, Yilan City, Section 2, Minquan Rd, 36號6樓
