Reviews: Xuyan Chang'an Ode: Immersive Tang Dynasty Themed Palace Banquet in Guangdong & Shenzhen [Imperial Cuisine + Court Music & Dance + Optional Traditional Costumes/Makeup]
Guest User2026-05-10
Stepping into the immersive Tang Dynasty palace banquet at Xuyan Chang An Ode felt like travelling back in time. The entire experience was beautifully designed — from the grand palace decorations and traditional costumes to the live performances and interactive storytelling. The dancers, music, and atmosphere made the banquet feel very authentic and luxurious. Every corner was photo-worthy, especially with the golden lighting and ancient Chinese palace aesthetics. The food presentation was also elegant and matched the Tang Dynasty theme perfectly. What I enjoyed most was how immersive the whole experience was. It wasn’t just a dinner, but a full cultural performance where guests could truly feel part of the royal banquet. A unique and memorable experience in Shenzhen, especially for anyone who loves Chinese history, culture, or taking beautiful photos. Highly recommended for couples, friends, and tourists visiting Shenzhen!
Reviews: JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen (Buffet Lunch/Buffet Dinner)
Guest User2026-03-04
No one knew why we were there or what we had booked until quite a while in. This is something Trip.com needs to communicate with staff at the Marriott and explain it clearly to them. Booked in English on an English speaking site and noone knew what we had ordered or if we had paid etc. We even got sent to the adjacent buffet first... But anyway, we got by eventually by using broken Chinese as the translation on an app didn't ring any bells either. But, Trip.com... communicate with the hotel if you're going to sell experiences to foreign tourists! Despite the minor inconvenience, the food was exceptional. The dim sum was freshly cooked nearby and all of it tasted phenomenal. There were six premium items on the menu that you could only choose once, then unlimited core items. We all ate a large amount of food and had excellent value for money. Don't be shy ordering and definitely don't be scared to ask for the menu back to order more food. It's an unlimited dining experience after all!
Reviews: Shenzhen Xuyan·Immersive Tang Dynasty Palace Banquet (traditional music and dance performance + royal visual and culinary feast + optional ancient costume/makeup experience)

There was no air conditioning, no fan running, and it was too stuffy. Sometimes, when explaining a dish, they would project a slide onto the guest's plate, but the server wouldn't remove the previous dish's plate before the projection, so the guest couldn't see the projection. Despite these shortcomings, the performance was excellent, and the food quality was very good.
Reviews: Shenzhen Nanyao Yijing Palace Dining Show (Must-see dining show in Shenzhen + immersive Tang Dynasty feast + exquisite palace cuisine + visual and taste double feast + travel back to ancient times to enjoy royal dining)
Guest User2026-02-25
We visited Shenzhen Nanyao Yijing Palace Dining Show during a quieter period, which actually made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. The dressing-up process was quick and straightforward, and it was great fun getting into costume before the show started. The atmosphere is lively, with interactive games and performances throughout the evening. It’s definitely more about the entertainment and overall experience than the food itself — the food was decent, but the real highlight is the show. If you’re looking for something a bit different and don’t mind that it’s more performance-focused than fine dining, it’s a fun night out.
