The luckiest thing about this pilgrimage trip to Mount Putuo was meeting our guide, Mr. Sun. He was a calm and reliable man at first glance, and he certainly didn't disappoint after a day together. Let me start by talking about his meticulousness. Mount Putuo has many temples and many rules, and he patiently explained everything beforehand—which gate to enter from which hall, how to place your hands when bowing, how to offer incense, even reminding us of small details easily overlooked near the incense burner. I was traveling with my boss and his clients, and I was initially a little unsure if I could provide adequate care, but he quietly observed our pace throughout the trip, reminding us to drink more water when it was hot, and offering a helping hand on steep steps—he was incredibly attentive. Then let me talk about his explanations. He didn't just recite a script; instead, he vividly and thoroughly explained the stories and legends behind each place. He not only talked about "how to worship," but also "why to worship," telling stories of the Bodhisattvas and the history of the temples. This gave us, who initially just wanted to visit and offer prayers, a genuine sense of awe and understanding for Mount Putuo. After listening to his explanation before worshipping Buddha, I felt much clearer-headed and more sincere. He was also incredibly patient, never rushing me. That patience wasn't just professional perfunctory; it was a genuine, heartfelt gentleness that made me feel incredibly at ease. Honestly, having a good tour guide completely changes the entire trip experience. He made our trip to Mount Putuo not just about "going there," but about truly "experiencing" it. I'm grateful for his dedication, and I will definitely recommend him to any friends who go to Mount Putuo. I also wish him success in his work and peace and joy.
